During this difficult time, trying to find different things to do whilst keeping safe is challenging. We are actually at Mara River Safari lodge at the moment and I think it’s awesome. The staff are really welcoming and helpful. The rooms are clean and of a good standard for Bali, quite large, ensuite, fridge, ac, tv etc. View from balcony on upper level we saw zebras, rhinoceros and wilderbeast. But their biggest attraction must be the restaurant (electric buggy courtesy from room). I am well travelled but have never seen active healthy lions in close proximity, even from the toilets 😂 I would definitely recommend this hotel for a totally different experience and especially with reduced prices during COVID if you are in Bali 😊
First time stay at hotel inside of Zoo. So amazing when we heard the voices of many animals also saw their activities just from our room. Excellent service from all hotel staff and we also enjoy all Safari activities (Safari journey, many animals show etc). In the morning we could breakfast with the lion.
Stayed here one night with my partner, the hotel side of it is so unique, the pool overlooking the Safari is beautiful and was so peaceful! The rooms aren’t close enough to the zebras so they give you carrots for feeding however you can’t feed them at all so I ended up throwing mine so they could eat them at some point. The rooms have an African feel to them but do let bugs in! The zoo was very poor in my opinion, not a lot going on unless you wanted to pay for photos of feeding! The lion restaurant was nice to eat in, good food but a more expensive meal in Bali obviously as there’s nothing else you could have! Wouldn’t return but glad we tried it.
altho quite far from Bali Airport.. this Salary Lodge give a very great experience to my 2 kids.. both of my kids love the animals , especially the elephant that walk pass our resort, feeding them the banans carrots, at night the show was fantastic, night safari experience was excellent too, the tiger that jump on the moving cage was the great experience my kids has ever had
Wild animals are not supposed to be hand fed and patted or caged yet this seems to be viewed as okay, when really these should be left alone. This is super important as they already have an imbalance in their numbers and domesticating can only cause further problems. Tourism should not be supporting such captivity.
