had a reservation at the Taj and they were oversold so probably got the worst room which was delightful! Big room, older hotel, (obviously since it was a palace) clean, great service. Food and beverage just steps from our room any hour of the day or night. What more could you ask for. Oh yes and a very nice pool...

Our tour company originally put us at the next-door Taj Gateway, and we insisted on upgrading to the Nadesar Palace. We are so happy we did! we were on a very busy four-week tour of India and we did not want to stay in subpar hotels. The Nadesar Palace is quiet, intimate, a total island of calm in a very...

The Nadesar Palace is magnificent. It is the beautifully restored guest house of a maharajah. We loved the horse and carriage ride around the property and the stop at the garden to pick vegetables for our lunch which the chef expertly prepared. We would go back for the fabulous meals alone.

Without going into boring details of a poor stay - Nice enough building and situation but very poor service - nowhere near 5 star. Ludicrously expensive for what it is. Taj seem to have lost the know how if running 5 star hotels or heritage retreats. E.g A simple guest house for 100th the cost can organise Breakfast for 2...

Just such a brilliant place and a real credit to Taj. Was a highlight of our stay in India - with charm, history and personality which exceeded many of the more famous Taj and Oberoi properties we stayed in in Rajasthan. Highlights: - Coach ride with Naseem- what an absolutely charming person and was the high point of our stay...

Originally an old colonial East India House taken over by a Maharaja, now run by Taj, graciously renovated with huge rooms each named after someone who stayed there. We were in the Queen Elizabeth suite, with Mountbatten next door. Housekeeping in the rooms was excellent and done to a really high quality, as was the carriage driver who’s job had...

This truly gives the feel of a palace. Beautiful big, airy rooms, lovely furnishings, stunning lounge areas, extensive grounds. Very good menu and attentive staff. The Taj Gateway is in the same grounds so you can eat in their first class Indian restaurant if you have time. All told, a lovely experience.

Welcome by chants of priests and divine ‘sankh’ melody filled us with passion and excitement. It was honoring welcome by Taj Nadesar Palace. We stayed in ‘Lord Mountbatten’ suite. Lush green gardens, trees and grasses filled joy and happiness in us. No words to explain beauty of Taj Nadaser Palace, it is best place to stay in Holy Varanasi. Our...

Varanasi was our last stop on a very busy two week tour of Northern India and we could not have chosen a more perfect property to end the trip. Beautiful, serene, intimate, a total oasis of calm in a very chaotic city. Service was outstanding and food was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel. We stayed in the Queen Elizabeth Suite,...
