It was a fab get away with the family. We were given a checklist of the birds and wildlife we could spot and where (whether on the property or the river bank or the wetlands) and we were thrilled to be able to spot 70 different birds, ghadiyal, crocodiles, a river dolphin, civet cats, hyenas, blue bulls and flying foxes... Stayed here for 3 nights during our recent tour of Northern India. The lodge has extensive grounds and is situated well away from the main tourist areas and is therefore ideally suited for bird-watching. It's close proximity to the Chambal River also makes it the ideal place to stay for wildlife trips on the River Chambal, in particular to see... More

Chambal Safari Lodge is a little off the main track but is a little gem. Best known as a "birding sanctuary" the whole area and the sanctuary along the river is a perfect way to commence a wildlife trip to India. My guide was brilliant - he could spot and identify birds in the distance that I could only see... More

The Chambal Safari Lodge is a oasis of peace in a beautiful forest location. Set amidst trees and shrubs, it consists of a central lodge and individual cabins located for maximum privacy. Abundant birdlife makes a walk in the vicinity a safari in itself!! The cabins are very comfortable and private, the food at the lodge was superb (lunch in... More

Our family of 2 adults and 3 children (9,11 and 14) spent an all but brief time at this lovely lodge which is two hours south of Agra. Suresh and the team provided a very warm and attentive welcome, accommodating us very generously in two interconnecting rooms which were perfect for us. The food at dinner was a variety of... More

The setting of the lodge is quite idyllic surrounded by lush trees and vegetation with bird calls and chatter constantly around. There is a large communal central area with outdoor seating, a fire pit, food counter. Travelling to Chambal from Agra was quite an experience at the time of our trip, due to the road works for a substantial length... More

Myself and a friend recently stayed at this idylic family friendly lodge to enable us to visit the Chambal river and surrounding area. We'd spent time in Agra and although the monuments and frenetic energy captivated us there for a few days, it was truly delightful arriving at this quiet and peaceful sanctuary about an hour or two south of... We recently spent 3 days, 2 nights at this very friendly and nicely run establishment. The meals were plentiful, cooked by a very talented chef, who was very willing to accommodate dietary needs of his patrons. Meals were a very pleasant way to start, then back during the hottest part of the day for lunch and the afternoon break time... More
