Lovely stay as always! We were super happy to receive a warm and wonderful welcome as soon as The staff is very friendly and always ready to help with a lovely smile. Rooms are amazing giving a royal feeling. Exceptional service at the restaurant by Shamsh and Divyanshu. ⭐️
This short four day trip to Udaipur - The Leela Palace was our meant to be out pit stop amidst a very busy month. And we really did not want to leave.. If the review allowed for only one thing to be talked about, then it would be the service and hospitality at the Leela palace. Their understanding of the customer is intuitve, they are gracious to the fault and while they are all smart, young and modern, they exemplify the glorious Indian hospitality. Each and every person, on our 4 days stay made us feel very very special. Whether organising a trip at a short notice, remembering what we liked for food at last meal at the resturant, taking the children to an alternate pool or arranging a ritual in the in -house temple. Our two special highlights - A lovely intimate send off celebration for my elder one who is going to university and the chef preparing Maggi for eating at the bar for my fussy 10 year old. He has resolved that he will stay only at Leela because they know that Maggi is the best food for kids !! I am acknowledging in this review some of the staff - Himanshu, whose constant attention, scheduling, itenary preparation and send off celebration would put him in the category of famous Butlers! Avishek and Raveena in the resturant, who I dont think ever slept because I saw them at all meals. Rupal for an excellent welcome and in room checkin ( a first again). Ananya for always standing with a smile at the welcome gate Krittika and Sandeep, the senior members of staff, whose confident presence and leadership was very reassuring. Tarun, at the spa, who so gladly took children off our hands and let us enjoy the best of therapy and facilities The boatmen and conceirge staff who ferried us up and down the lake. About the the Palace The property is breathtaking. Located at the edge of the Pichola lake, the magnificient gold and mustard heritage architechure, set off against the green and blue immediately transports you into another world. The central quadrant is a destination itself. The classic white and black marble neatly lining squares of verdant green. A shimmering water body centerpiece, attracts birds and people alike reminds how precious is this resource to the region. Marble benches with canopies, parapets and hanging turrets with expansive views of the lake will ensure your instagram moments never stops. At sundown, the high fires are lit, a local musician fills the air with longing tunes and the waft of fresh bread on tandoor from the Sheesh Mahal resturant making the atmosphere surreal I must mention the unusal Guava Garden and the parrots I spotted there, bringing back grandma's tales. The Rooms and Interiors Very tastefully and exquisitely done, The Leela Palace interiors reflect the traditions, folklore and the grandeur of the Mewar region of Rajasthan. The silver decors - Idols , Figurines, Furniture placed along the corridors and common areas highlight the shining speciality of Udaipur. Take a minute to notice the carvings in the inner courtyard and how the candle is lit behind the screen to diffuse soft warm lighting. The walls will give you a gallery feel with miniature paintings and textile frames - all authentic and curated. Do not rush through these corridors, just let it fill your senses. Honestly, if you choose not to step put of the property, it is alright as well. The rooms of course are very comfortable and modern. I am sure whatever you choose - Garden view, Lakeview, Courtyard view, balcony or no Balcony you will not miss out on anything. All amenities are provided, in room service and wifi always works. The spaces are smartly and cozily optimised The two resturants offer a delectable spread at all meals. Just enjoy the food, and if you really crave something, I am sure the chef will make it for you. The Spa is heavenly and treatment and masseuse are really good. The number of treatments are not too many, thus each one is expertly executed.I say this because I am not an easy one to please when it comes to spa . How to get there The Leela runs is own boats from two Jetty's - Doodh Talaiya and Brahmpole. Even before you reach the city, by air, train or land, the team will help you or even get you to the jetty. The boats are motor boats, stable and have life jackets which they insist you wear. For the more adventurous, you can take a Tuk Tuk ( local three wheelers) and arrive at the old city entry point. Just remember to inform the hotel so that they are ready for you at the gate. You cannot take a car at this entry. If you are there, do acknowledge the very good job the hotel does. Talk to the staff when you can, listen to their life and stories, say your please and thank you's and do not talk on the mobile and gesture arrogantly for refills. While it is a Luxury property, do keep an eye out on their offers and season packages. They are great value for money. Talk to them, and I am sure they will work out something for you because they really believe that Atithi ( Guest) is God!…
Hotel is nice service is perfect . but one thing that shocked me about this palace is that your associates, in every question judging their customers with prices. if we ask anything or demand anything they always ask that sir it will cost you this much and that much. atleast they dont know how to respect their customers. This hotel associates think that only celebrities and film stars can spend money, we normal people cant , so this is what i feel like not good about this hotel. you cant judge book by its cover. thankyou
Everything about the stay was exceptional. Fantastic experience at gym. Divyansh gave a personal service and my lower back stretching and set up the steam room which helped clear my cold. Good at the dining hall was excellent. Yogendra served us impeccably and made sure our every need was met, and gave us little factoids about Indian food, tea, etc. Kopal made it a point for me to breathe and relax and reminded me I’m on vacation. And she was there for everything we needed. And finally Kanishk our butler would show up out of nowhere when we were uncertain and guide us. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Wonderful place. This is the wedding season so it is quite busy but the service is very personal. Wonderful meal and service from a pop up for Colibri Jiminez of Mexico City. We had dinner by the lake. Stunning view and wonderful meal there. Stunning Dal Makhani in the main restaurant. Abhishek took wonderful care of us in the dining room. Everyone makes you feel like family.
I enjoyed amazing hospitality and food at the Leela Udaipur in Jan 2023. Their variety and quality of dishes was excellent. The staff is very nice, speaks great English, and went out of their way to ensure my friends and I were comfortable. Cannot recommend the Leela anymore to someone looking for fine dining and lodging.
For a lovely stay with sunset boat rides,Local musical evening performances, attentive staff providing homely feeling and excellent overall facilities.Surely amongst the top 3 hotel options in Udaipur.Loved and enjoyed our stay.Mr.Sandeep in the Customer Relations had a beautiful attitude in utmost service and taking customer suggestions very seriously.Must try their other hotels in India.Good option besides Oberoi and Taj.
The customer service was amazing in terms of room service and dine in service, the person who looked after us the most during our meals was Abhishek. He gave us amazing customer service and never failed to make us happy. Overall our experience with the Leela in Udaipur was amazing and we enjoyed a lot.
We visited this hotel for our honeymoon and they DELIVERED with the special touches. From chocolate cake (twice), to a welcome fit for a king and queen, we cannot wait to return! Anil was our driver and we thoroughly enjoyed him, as well as, the rest of the staff - Namrata, Amit, and Harshith (room service) made us feel particularly welcome and I can’t wait to see them again. For example, I have a severe nut allergy. Once I told one of them the rest of the staff seemed to magically know and consistently cater to me.
We were initially reluctant about staying at Leela palace but it was worth every penny. The staff was extremely cordial and went out of the way to meet our requests. Service was exemplary. Star of the stay was food which was a cut above the rest. The F&B team is the best team I have ever come across. Special thanks to Kanishk, Abhishek, Krishna, Suryapal, Shamsh, Namrata, Sayan, Soumen and everyone at the restaurant who served us with so much love & care. This hotel is surely the best I have stayed at in Udaipur. Looking forward to another stay very soon.
