If you want to know about Indian culture, this is best way: stay with a family, talk, go out with them if it's possible. Nice family in Jodhpur! Big house, good breakfast, best price. They supported me giving directions, advices, suggestions about Jodhpur and India in general. I feel like home with them!

Although we didn't stay here, we contacted the family through Couchsurfing and through this we were lucky enough to experience a cooking class at their house. They gave us a full tour of their nice building in a quiet location- interestingly, next to an outdoor educational science park! And we particularly enjoyed trying seasonal treats- like tondoi (Holi drink), learning...

Was on a holiday trip to Jodhpur and got to know this place from a friend. It was a wonderful experience staying with a friendly family and learning traditional rajasthani food recipes from owners wife. Food was awesome and we really enjoyed it. Rooms are clean and different options to choose from.

Arrived around 4 am by bus. Was told not to take shower but the next morning as it would make noise to others. I asked if there's another bathroom, the host said this is the only one. Next morning, he locked on my door at around 9:15 am as he needs to go to work. He said his mother doesn't...

I've now stayed across a spectrum of homestays- from those who are almost like boutique hotels to more conventional ones- Blooming House comes at the other end of the spectrum- almost like couch-surfing. The experience is almost exactly like bunking at a famliy friend's or relatives with the simple yet delicious food, the friendly kids, the very basic, no-frills rooms,...

If you're looking for a homestay in Jodhpur, Blooming House is a decent option. The family is helpful, albeit a little curious. Do not expect soap/towels in the bathroom though. It isn't exactly located close to any of the attractions in the city, but the locality was safe and quiet.
