5-stars for the hotel environs which are really well done, but 4-stars for not quite hitting international service standards. We particularly enjoyed having a sunset drink on the rooftop balcony and having our meals in the indoor-outdoor pavilion-like restaurant. (Not sure if anyone swims in the pool though – it’s small and seems to be used more as a pigeon...

We spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel and there is nothing we can fault. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom modern with all mod cons. We were in room 324 and had the most stunning view of the Fort from our terrasse. The view from the main restaurant was so beautiful that we ended up having dinner there every...

This hotel offers what might be the besy view of the fort, we had the room facing the fort. Also offers a nice heated pool where you can see the reflection of the fort, beautiful architecture and great facilities. I am in awe.

We spent 2 nights in this beautiful boutique hotel, nestled right amongst the old city. While the noise from the local mosque was deafening at times and does seem to continue for a lengthy amount of time, the hotel was still well worth it! Beautifully appointed rooms and extremely friendly staff. I enjoyed a spa treatment which was excellent! Thankyou for...

The title sums it up. I've stayed in or visited the other luxury properties in Jodhpur and for all sorts of reasons the Raas is the best choice. The attention to detail in the facility and staffing is marvelous, the grounds remarkable (complete with the view of the fort), and the rooms are modern and serene. The owner's commitment to...

The RAAS is a stunning botique hotel in the super crowded city of Jodhpur. The views offered by the hotel are really extraordinatry as it sits right underneath the city fort. Unfortunately, it is also directly next to a Mosque which can get a little noisy in the evening and in the morning during calls to prayer. The hotel does...

I have been traveling in India for almost a month now. I have stayed near near a few Hindu temples, this is the first time I stayed near a mosque. I just have to say this hotel would have been great if it wasn't for the noise coming from the mosque. The speaker coming from this mosque is extremely loud....

The Bishnoi Village Safari by Jodhpur Outback through RAAS hotel is too commercial and does not focus much on the Boshnoil. More than half of it is not Boshnoi villages but roadside sites of people who are into handicraft and are supposedly not seeking to sell their production. Actually, you can see that they do expect the visitor to buy....

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel with our 2 children (ages 12 and 9). The property is absolutely unique and beautiful. We had a fort view room - which was spectacular. The rooms are very modern, spacious and comfortable. There was a minor drainage problem with the shower, but not a big issue. The main restaurant, Baradari, is quite...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Inside the Walled City of Jodhpur and under the imposing stare of Mehrangarh Fort, sits RAAS. The site was formerly the home of the aristocratic Thakur family, and the original 18th-century haveli has been carefully renovated to produce the four old buildings of the hotel. The three new buildings are modern and contemporary in their use of space and light, and yet are grounded in tradition. Jodhpur's red sandstone unites the new with the old, with modern designs in its latticing and carving adding a fresh dimension to the region's age-old stone carving industry. This seamless harmony between the old and the new, the modern and the traditional, extends to all aspects of RAAS. Almost all of the rooms have magnificent views of Mehrangarh Fort from both the private terraces and from the cast iron bathtubs, and those that don’t have their own private gardens and views over the old haveli and landscaped gardens of RAAS. The rooms are furnished with state of the art amenities: all rooms are air-conditioned with the latest eco friendly machines, and have overhead fans, hairdryers, safes, central heating, wi-fi, TV, telephones and en suite bathrooms. There are rooms with easy access for the handicapped and non-smoking rooms. RAAS boasts two fine dining restaurants, which offer both Indian and International cuisine: Darikhana is a beautiful terraced restaurant and the Baradari Café is inside the old pavilion and offers a relaxing location near the pool. There is also a luxury spa that offers a full range of treatments and a boutique shop. RAAS is the ideal place to soak up the rich local heritage of Jodhpur while at the same time indulging in opulent luxury and comfort. As soon as you drive through the old wooden gates in RAAS’s very own blue tuk-tuk, the majesty of Mehrangarh Fort will be tempered by your sense of relaxation. ... more   less
