Strongly recommend to stay in Prajapat's Homestay. If you want to visit Jodhpur, the best way is to stay in Salawas for a few days, get calm, chillout and relax from noise of big cities taste excelent food. And then return for one day for visit Jodhpur ;)

Great people to stay with. It is a cool 9 km from the main highway but it is worth the stay, especially with the homely food. The rooms were clean and hygienic. It was winter and the place was dead cool. Need to see the summer over here for which I shall go again with family

My partner, myself, his daughter and four grandchildren travelled by minibus from Udaipur in the morning and arrived at Salawas Village at around 5pm. We were warmly welcomed by Chhotaram and his wife and parents. Accommodation was in round mud huts with straw roofs, with attached bathroom. Rooms and environs were very clean. Food was prepared by Chhotaram's wife, sister...

Staying at Chhotaram Prajapat's homestay for two nights was truly the highlight of our trip to Rajasthan! Chhotaram was an amazing host, picking us up from the airport, showing us lots of wildlife (lots of large gazelles!), introducing us to some of the local Bishnoi people, and teaching us to cook Rajasthani food, to name a few. My friend and...

We had booked two huts in January 2015 and were very pleased with the accommodation. The huts had extra beds and clean washrooms. The owners were very humble and served food in their kitchen. The kids experienced village life and they enjoyed thoroughly. All of our needs were attended to and it was an amazing experience. We were taken on...

We were there on 28th Dec 2015. Chhotaram and his brother Shambhuji head this young and proud Rajasthani touristic gem. Their rustic demeanour belies their linguistic skills. Overseen by their father, who sports a rich and photogenic moustache, they give each guest their personal attention. They assured us sitings of the famous Black-Buck and they delivered !! Deer, neelgai, peacocks...

My friend and I were lucky enough to stay here for three nights of our India trip and it was a genuine highlight. A short drive from the city of Jodhpur, the village-style accomodation was unique and extremely peaceful. The service here is outstanding! Chhotaram and his family provided tailored activities, an abundance of delicious home-cooked food and enthusiastic company...

Booking this homestay was one of the best decisions my friend and I made during our trip to India! This place was worth every dollar (and more!) that we spent to stay here. Chhotaram and his family are the most amazing people. They are extremely welcoming and for our entire stay we were made to feel part of the family....

I stayed here with Family and Friends. We had booked 3 huts here. The property is outside the city and reaching this place is a challenge in itself. Once we reached, it came to a surprise that two out of three huts were adjacent while the third one was away. We had kids and hence needed the huts to be...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Anyone visiting India would be cheating himself or herself if they didn't get a taste of Indian countryside. It's not that difficult. Jodhpur is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides and within a few minutes, one can be up in the village, where peace reigns: the only sounds may be those of the birds or an occasional buffalo. From the aspects of proximity to the city as well as the countryside, access and utter, unspoiled beauty, staying at Chhotaram Prajapat's Homestay in Salawas is a good choice. The little village is just 20 Kms. from city center. For those who enjoy cycling, bird-watching or merely relaxing in the peace and quiet, this area is simply perfect. It moves at the typical slow pace of such villages, and you may remark that a lot of people seem to spend a lot of time just sitting around chatting. Well, they do. Nobody here seems to die of stress! Jodhpur is a fascinating city with much to recommend it, but as with all Indian cities, it is not peaceful, so even if you choose to spend the day shopping or sightseeing, its certainly recommended to travel the short distance to Chhotaram's homestay for a perfect evening and a peaceful night. Cmhomestay has a friendly, intimate atmosphere that will calm and relax you. We can provide lunchtime Tipical Rajasthani food, delicious evening meals. Bicycles available. Laundry service. Massage. Camel-riding and countryside trekking arranged. In the room rates traditional welcome with tica, chai/coffee, breakfast is inclusive. We arrange village safari formally known as a BISHNOI VILLAGE SAFARI at competitive rates.Except all this, you can enjoy shopping, trekking, village safari, visit to historical places, bird watching etc. There are many transport facilities which can make your trip enjoyable and comfortable too. To sum up, Chhotaram Prajapat’s homestay will be memory to cherish which you will never be able to forget for the whole of your life.So what are you waiting, start packing your bags and just land at this heavenly paradise. ... more   less
