There are many options but mandir palace is an experiential thing. If coming to Jaisalmer, the hotel is close to fort convenient for all city attractions, helpful staff, good food, talk to the staff and they'll guide you best if travelling first time.

Arrived at this join close to midnight after an arduous 6 hour drive in the poring monsoon rains. From the minute I walk in the reception the red carpet was rolled out. Staff were fantastic and nothing was to much trouble. The location was perfect. The hotel is a lost art and antique luxury to spend a few days in.... More

It is really fantastic to be in this hotel. It is modern comfort in a museum. Old and new go together. Nice terrace and despite it was not busy, we had a wonderful stay. Very very clean rooms. Nice breakfast. Together with our daughters we enjoyed also the perfect spot to discover the city, the fort.

Beautiful rooms and the restaurant was world class. Loved it. Visited July 2014 The space is impeccably maintained and the pool is surrounded by flowers. We felt like royalty. It is right in the city and surrounded by the fort. Everything you want to see is around you.

We enjoyed a great stay at the Mandir Palace during the height of the summer. Our room was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The hotel buildings and grounds are exquisite and the staff team are well led by the charming manager, Mr Bhojraj Singh. The hotel was extremely quiet during our off-season visit and we ate in the restaurant only... More

The hotel is centrally located close to the fort. Rooms was nice, and bathroom clean and spacious.Staff is very helpful.Food is very expensive, and there is no room service.Another drawback is that room does not have wardrobe. The bar was under renovation. Overall nice comfortable stay.

How wonderful is this hotel, the most beautiful rooms, and the palace history and small archways throughout the hotel provide an intrigue from yesteryear. We were very excited to see the wonderful ambience of the palace in the middle of the town. You only have to go out of the reception area and you are on the main square. How... More

This is a lovely old heritage hotel in the middle of the city. A lot of its charm lies in its higgledy-piggledy layout. You almost need a map to get to your room from reception. The rooms are located in clusters in different parts of the complex. The room itself was fine but the outside lock was somewhat antiquated. They... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A two centuries old palace converted into a hotel, WelcomHeritage Mandir Palace offers a concoction of medieval charm with the modern amenities. The main portion of the two centuries old Palace was built during the reign of the late Maharawal Jawahir Singh. This palace is testimony to the history of Jaisalmer with different portions of the palace being built by different rulers of Jaisalmer till as late as the beginning of the twentieth century. ‘Badal Vilas’, a unique tower like structure at Mandir Palace is the tallest structure in town below the hill-top city fort, reminding us of the incredible historical relevance attached to both the palace as well as the city of Jaisalmer. ... more   less
