We stayed 3 nights at the Mandir Palace Hotel. The first night the rooms (2) were a little disappointing (rooms need updating) and our agent negotiated with the manager, Mr Bhojraj Singh, to upgrade us to a Surya Mahal Suite and the Golden Suites. These were far more comfortable and we thank Mr Singh for his patience. We had breakfast...

The hotel is part of a palace with the rest of the property being a museum. The rooms are decorated in modern style which is very nice and the bathrooms are excellent in terms of fittings and toiletries. The choice for breakfast is also decent. The hotel is centrally located and close to the main market and several restaurants. The...

Makes you feel privileged to stay in such a lovely, historic building. Clean, comfortable and rather querky room, efficient and professional staff. Very good location for the town. Overall great experience.

Stayed there for a day. The hotel is actually a palace where on one side the Raja of Jaisalmer resides. It has 2 museums inside the hotel. Nice architecture and rooftop view of Jaisalmer fort. Located centrally to all main attractions nearby. Overall a very nice experience at the hotel.

Very nice property with best location in city but hotel staff is not polished in line with brand name Welcome Heritage. No Guest Relation manager. It is more like local hotel property. Food is average.

We had a lovely room in the hotel but the bathroom was slightly tired. However the people were lovely and we were shown around the palace and told about it's history by a charming gentleman. Breakfast was good. We were cold the first night so asked for extra quilts for our second night.

Magnificent setting, spacious room with everything working :-), hot water and all amenities required to have a break from the hustle and bustle of India. Central and under the eaves of the Fort, terrific views. Highly recommended.

After doing lots of research, we booked this property for 2 families and it wasnt a bad decision overall. You get the taste of tradition, culture in the midst of the city. Approach - its right at the centre. time from railway station to hotel is 10 mins max and all the local places to see such as fort, patwon...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A two centuries old palace converted into a hotel, WelcomHeritage Mandir Palace offers a concoction of medieval charm with the modern amenities. The main portion of the two centuries old Palace was built during the reign of the late Maharawal Jawahir Singh. This palace is testimony to the history of Jaisalmer with different portions of the palace being built by different rulers of Jaisalmer till as late as the beginning of the twentieth century. ‘Badal Vilas’, a unique tower like structure at Mandir Palace is the tallest structure in town below the hill-top city fort, reminding us of the incredible historical relevance attached to both the palace as well as the city of Jaisalmer. ... more   less
