Excellent hotel, great room with small balcony. Restaurant service was very good, staff very friendly and attentive. Good buffet option in evening. It was the beginning of Covoid concerns and I was taken to be tested by local doctor. Pool was very nice and a welcome break after hot sightseeing. I didn't get to try to spa but it looked like very good pricing.
*Spacious rooms *Courteous hotel staff *Food at the restaurant is really good *Hotel's informal travel desk is expensive. So book your tour packages, locally. *Located in proximity to the city center.
On arrival at the Gorbandh Palace you could be forgiven for thinking that you had strolled in off the Strip in Las Vegas. Even in the lobby and immediate areas, you feel a bit of 'wow' However, get past the entrance and the hotel reveals itself to be too large to effectively manage and very shabby. The swimming pool is not really clean, the pool chairs and table look ancient and the dirty pool towels didn't make me feel relaxed. Elsewhere , debris laying around in the gardens and whole areas that were in total disrepair didn't encourage exploration. Our room was average sized, and our 'beautiful terrace' was a drab little area that overlooked a large brick wall a few yards in front of us. Dinner food was decent, as was the service. Breakfast was horrible, with the buffet table poorly stocked, and the equipment and offering less than average. This wasn't even a great location, and certainly not one for a return visit. A good shout for the barman, who was chatty, friendly and efficient.…
The rooms were adequate and the bed was comfortable. The phone ringing for staff working in rooms in the area was very irritating as it was like an alarm call. Food was good but we certainly had better in our journey around Rajasthan. Loved the pool area. The towels were a far better quality than in the rooms and there were plenty of sunbeds. Our other favourite part was the barman who had excellent English as was very welcoming.
After having a three night stay here, I can’t say it was a great hotel. The room was tired, with a shower which involved climbing into the bath and a shower curtain at the side. The balcony had a table and chairs. The umbrella had a large amount of bird droppings on it which made me not want to sit out there. It was also on the balcony. We ate one night in the restaurant, dining at 7pm. We were the only people there initially until another small party arrived. The hotel felt quite character less. The pool was lovely and I did enjoy sitting there. The hotel is not within walking distance to other amenities in the city. Sadly it all felt a bit disappointing.
