I highly recommend Desert Moon to families looking for great value, clean rooms and a little distance (10 min walk) from the hubbub of the Jaisalmer Fort. They organized everything for us including a camel safari. We're extremely appreciative to the friendly and helpful staff. They even mailed my sons jacket (which he forgot) back to us in Delhi for...

Jaisalmer was my favorite city in Rajasthan, and I think this guesthouse had a lot to do with it. It had a peaceful atmosphere that is hard to come by in India. I had a lovely single room with a view of the cenotaphs. There is also a terrace facing the cenotaphs with many chairs and floor cushions where you...

This is a decent place to stay in Jaisalmer overlooking the cenotaphs. The rooms and whole place is clean and tidy. You can get a simple breakfasts and food. They arrange for free pick-ups and drop to railway and bus stations. The desert trips (camel ride) are also arranged for you. The place is little out of town say around...

We were a travelling group of 4 girls and Lois from Desert Moon Guesthouse helped us to make our first trip to Thar the most memorable. This was 2 years ago when we were visiting Jaisalmer only for a night! We had picked the overnight Desert Safari and were given accomodation to freshen up before and after we left the...

I just stayed for a night in the guesthouse. Free-pickup from the trainstation and a warm welcome from the owner and his nephew. Online reservation without problems possible. Clean room, comfortable beds. A 20 minute walk from the town center. The only downside is that the reastaurant is without a cook at the moment and therefore has just a limited...

The property is very nice. The location is not great. It is a 15 minute walk from the town, up a semi-deserted lane. The reviews below speak good words so I think my experience must just be a blip, due, I hope, to the off-season nature of my visit. The roof-top restaurant was closed. The room was fairy dirty, including...

I spent a month in India, and this was one of my favourite stays. The guest house is very clean and comfortable. It is not in the old town, but only a 15 minute walk away. It is very quiet at night, the roof top restaurant has a beautiful view of the fort. The food is also quite good. The...

Our stay at Desert Moon was fantastic. The owner is very friendly and helpful and the staff are as well. The rooftop terrace has an amazing view of the fort. The rooms are clean with large bathrooms, ours had a TV as well. The staff also offer all sorts of information on the city, including organising a camel safari and...

As a solo female traveller this guesthouse provided comfort, security and a warm and friendly respite from travelling during the height of tourist season (January 2012). Its location opposite Sunset Point is a visual splendour, as is sitting eating delicious simple fresh Indian or western food on its rooftop restaurant while watching the lights twinkle from the Jaisalmer Fort; picture...
