Thank you so much for your lovely words. It was so nice to meet you and so happy you felt safe, as a single traveler that's so important. Happy you said yes to everything and just went for it in terms of local things to do. Hopefully we will meet again.

Coming to Kaiya House was like coming home. Although we arrived very late in the evening because of flight delay, Debra was waiting us with a nice cup of tea. She also had ordered taxi for us and the driver was waiting us at the airport. Our Indian style room was ideal. It was

Thank you so much for your lovely review and so happy you felt at home especially after such a long cycling adventure. And I thank you for mentioning that Kerala is up and running. I know it was likely a concern for some when considering coming but the recovery was very fast. I'm so, so sorry if my dogs disturbed you. They're usually quite good but I have to admit this year Edward has been a bit more vocal. Luckily it's rare they go off at night. I'll work on this and again, apologies. Hope to see you again.

Our stay at Kaiya house was a fabulous start to the New Year. Debra and household are all warm, welcoming and caring. The rooms are lovely, with antique but comfortable beds. The breakfasts cooked by Babuchi and Letah are amazing. We could even buy fresh fruit juice from Hemant-

I would echo the other answers - bikinis are really for tourist beaches. The sacred beach is not the place! Modesty still prevails in much of India... and why not? I was there December - April and the monsoons were about to arrive when I left. The main beach was definitely getting shorter! Varkala is a lovely place to be ... enjoy!

No it does not have private beach access but to my knowledge nowhere does. It's a ten minute walk to the public beach. However you will not be disappointed staying here. Deborah & her team are the best.
