We arrived here after a long drive from Munnar. Right from welcome drink to check out everything was smooth. The property is amazing & beautiful.. highly recommend the property visit..The staff was very courteous and you could feel the warmth on hospitality that they offer. The cottages are beautiful with greenery all around. The cooking demo & classical dance performance...

From the chattering Guinea Fowl to the troops of visiting monkeys, the feel of this place is different from the moment you arrive. All the buildings are thatched with elephant grass giving an authentic village feel. There is a Ayurvedic Massage centre, swimming pool, tennis and badminton on site as well as a buffet restaurant, The Woodhouse bar in the...

We stayed here for a couple of nights with some elderly folks. The Good: Cottages: The hotel has cottages, traditional in a bush like setting with numerous plants that give spices. The whole atmosphere has a village feel to it and relaxing. Food is above average, has a bit of variety but not outstanding or any thing. Most of the...

Myself and my husband popped in for lunch before going to the Tiger reserve. We both enjoyed a very delicious meal in beautiful surroundings. The staff were very kind, especially since we were not guests at the hotel. I even saw a monkey!

We arrived after a rather long drive from Trivandrum, but immediately found our haven in Spice Village. Our expectations were high, as we´d stayed at another CGH group place a few years ago, but we were not disappointed. Set in what is really a botanical garden, this is the ideal base from which to explore the Periyar reserve. Which we...

Landed here after long drive from Munnar and what a blessing! Check in was a bit slow but may have been due to several guests arriving simultaneously. Rooms are bungalows, individual houses with ample room to spread out. Pool has unchlorinated water that was cool, so refreshing in the heat. Walking distance to shops. Hotel offers cooking classes, nature hikes,...

We booked this place after reading splendid reviews about them on Tripadvisor and we were right. Although it Is located very near to the market area, still as soon as we enter the resort, there is total peace and quietness. The Check-In was very smooth and we were offered an assortment of herbal teas. The rooms are in Thatched Bungalows...

We have just spent two nights here and it is a lovely resort. There doesn't seem to be many guests around here or in the area so we have had our choice of restaurants and sole use of the pool. The rooms are very comfortable and the gardens are lovely complete with resident guinea fowl and a troope of monkeys....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Spice Village is an eco resort in the hills(thekkady) near the Periyar wildlife sanctuary. A cluster of tribal style huts set in a beautiful spice garden is a great escape for most tourists from the heat of the plains, and also a great place for some adventure activities. We have a comfortable pool, an ayurvedic spa, we organise treks into the forest, bamboo rafting and many more. A walk through the property itself is a great way to explore many aspects of nature and the green initiatives undertaken at this eco resort. ... more   less
