The winding roads and lush greenery that lead you to Paradisa are only a precursor to the retreat that awaits you. We had the pleasure of staying at Paradisa for only one night, but in that amount of time had the opportunity to experience the warmth and hospitality of the owner, Simon, and his staff. The staff are happy to... More

An amazing spot developed and maintained by tea planter, ex-architect, with much knowledge of the area. Perhaps the best food we had in Southern India – fascinating rooms, generally spacious, built from old houses transported here and renovated. Creaky old doors. No A/C, but not really needed given altitude and breezes high in mountains. A bit far from anything, but... More

Getting to our cottage necessitated going down (up to return) 91 steps. The cottage has no fan, AC, or screens; getting into the bathroom required climbing over an 18" door sill. The bathroom is open to the sky, which was ointeresting until a bird flew in and around before finding her way out. I brushed a 4" twig from the... More

We journeyed up and up, round and round and then we arrived at Paradisa Plantation Retreat......Heaven?? Simon the owner welcomed us in and what a warm welcome it was. Our room overlooked the forest where the forest people were doing some controlled burning, luckily the wind was blowing the other way or it would not have been pleasant. Our room... More

From the moment we arrived at paradisa the hospitality couldn't have been better. The cottage we stayed in was beautiful and looked out over the mountains. The food was first class. Simon, the owner was a very gracious host and made sure our stay was extra special. I would throughly recommend this retreat.

Other reviewers accurately summarise both the strengths and weaknesses of Paradisa. I will focus in the main on the warmth of the welcome and the truly outstanding service we have received. Nothing has been too much trouble. The food has been utterly superb, the variety broad. The staff have pampered us, and we are now afraid to return to the... More

Beautiful setting, nice rooms, incredible food and outstanding service. We stayed for two nights over Christmas eve and Christmas day and highly recommend this place! We just returned from six weeks in India--all in hotels, guest houses, heritage sites. Paradisa was the best of all our stays, my wife and I agree. This remote setting, looking out to mountains, valleys and the sky, won't soon be forgotten. Simon and his staff are most attentive…and we had some of the very best meals here. Book it!... More
