We stayed at this place on 1st Nov. 2016 and booked 2 rooms for two families. I am listing both positives and negatives for this place. Positives 1. The property owner and his family provides good help and support. 2. We stayed in deluxe rooms with attached balcony on the first floor. The rooms were very nice, in fact better... More

Hospitality and ambiance are nice. Reasonable rates for semi luxury rooms. Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel staff are cooperative. Thekkady is a good place for nature lovers. You wont find much activities in the town. Don't fall in the trap of too much hype for the town. It is ok to visit the city only if you have patience to... More

Nice people... Good and clean rooms... The view I found was average thought but it is right adjacent to the forest and if your lucky you might spot a wild Buffalo or sambar... But you will spot at least 25 different birds... The gallery is great! Shibu and his family is great! You are in good hands with them... Shibu... More

I had booked two nights with my tour operator but because I arrived very early in the morning, my room was not available for check in. Mr Shibu availed a temporary room at ground level(not the main building) and told my guide/driver that I could check into my reserved room (1st level) after 11.30am. Unfortunately, together with the guide, I... More

Clean spacious rooms. Good location. A kettle in rooms would have a good addition. They don't provide food (there are restaurant s near by). For two of us there was only one bath towel. The owners Shibu and Rajani were helpful. I got better rates, by calling them directly, than what was showing on the online portals.

The view is incredible. The accommodation opens up to a beautiful lush green forest which makes for a very pleasant stay. The owner is very accommodating and is very patient with all your queries. He hooked us up for a good safari into the Gavi forest which we would have otherwise missed.

Shibu and his wife run a very enjoyable homestay in a perfect location near the park entrance and not far away from the town centre. Shibu's got an answer and recommendation to any need one could have regarding one's stay in Kumily. He goes the extra mile to get you tickets for the attractions and doing this he never appears... The rooms are clean well maintained, we took one in the second floor, view was nice - you can see the wide open fields and jungle border. Located quite close to the Periyar forest entry gate, also walk able distance from Bamboo Groove from where the bamboo... More
