We stayed at GK Riverview for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. As others have said the rooms are basic. We were a bit nervous about the heating the water with the electric element. However, the rooms were not what we were there for. We spent most of our time exploring the amazing backwaters or relaxing in... More

George and Di were the perfect hosts for our 3 night stay in the backwaters. The room was fairly basic but clean and suited us perfectly. It was in a quite location with a lovely view over the rice fields with trees and bird life all around. The homestay is in a good location for walking the canals and watching... More

We stayed two nights at GK's riverview but would have liked to stayed more if we could. The location is simply amazing, in the middle of a bird sanctuary, fluorescent green rice fields, canals, and tropical vegetation. It's the perfect place to rest for a few days in a simple but lovely guest house. The good company of Georges who... More

Whilst our trip was a while ago, the memories of it are still fresh! Our stay at GK Riverview homestay was definitely one of my highlights of our trip. Right in the heart of the backwaters, which if you want an authentic experience of backwater life and a very peaceful one at that, GK homestay is great! -though be prepared... More

When we booked 7 nights full board at GK's Riverview on our first visit to India we were unsure whether it was a wise decision. It proved not only wise but wonderful. George has the knowledge and ability to make you feel that you are the most important person on the planet. Dai prepares authentic home cooked and often home... More

If being out in nature suits you then complete the experience (highlands, nature preserves) with a special "backwater " experience which includes a quiet room, walking and canoeing options, birdwatching and fabulous meals.

We stayed there for two nights; we drove our small car there , the access is bit remote but once you leave your car behind you are going to have a blissful stay. It was rejuvenating stay as we (re)connect with nature, paddy field closely. The food and hospitality were impeccable. Both Mr. & Mrs Jutty are great host.

We spent four relaxing nights at George's homestay, and really enjoyed it. Reaching it was an adventure - on an autorickshaw with all our baggage, around 30 minutes from Kottayam, through a maze of rough dirt roads alongside the canals, but as we finally turned in to the drive way George greeted us warmly and seeing the setting for the... Sitting on the veranda, the sound of the evening service at the Syrian Christian church drifting across the paddy fields, in this remote but beautiful place was one of the highlights of our trip to India. George and Di were great hosts, serving wonderful food and giving us an insight into the ways of life on the back waters of... More

We stayed for 4 days. The rooms were basic but clean. The advantages were having authentic home-made Syrian Christian food and the walk you could take along the paddy fields. The food offered was fantastic. And one can relax by taking boat rides on the canals as well on Lake Vembanad. You have to walk to the ferry ghat. Mr.... More
