Idyllic farm on a man made island in the Kumarakom lake. Anu and her family run this upmarket homestay with 6 perfect traditional villas, excellent home cooked meals and lots of kindness. We enjoyed hiring small boats and rowing around in the lake and then come back to sumptuous authentic Kerala meals . Highly recommended.

Easily the best place we stayed at in Kerala. Philip Kutty's farm is a haven of peace and relaxation. The property is built on an island (need to get there by boat) and the six villas are built traditional style. We were two families travelling together, so we had a set of two villas with a large living room adjoining.... More

We stayed as a couple for 4 nights in April 2016. We only had an idea by reading TA what to expect. Cottages are great, superbly fitted out with quality fittings, and Mummy and Annu made us feel very welome. Meals are taken around a large round table in a seperate dining area from the main house. They are just... More

Excellent rooms, in a lovely setting. Food excellent and nice to sit with a communal group of people and hear stories from their trip. Sunset boat ride a must and Farm walk worth while. Only draw back is there is little else to do, so 1 night probably enough.

What others have said on this site probably says it all. Because of the unusually intense heat in Kerala this summer, we would not advise visiting in April, but we had no choice. So the beautifully appointed rooms with their AC were invaluable. We were the only guests (end of season), but Anu and her family made us feel welcome... More

Accessed by punting across water. A wonderful setting with cottage style rooms with verandah, located overlooking Chinese fishing nets, beside the water. Food, much of which is freshly harvested, is varied in choice and plentiful. Walking tours of the gardens and farm well worthwhile. Everybody is so very attentive. A small selection of optional activities includes a sunset boat trip.

We had a delightful cottage at this small resort, where we spent two nights. We were dropped off from the houseboat we had been on the night before, which was a perfect way to arrive and were greeted by a member of the family. All the guests eat together at a large round table, so there are interesting people to... More

Sitting on the verandah watching the rice barges come past to anchor for the night, we had a sip of out G&T and thought of our sunset boat trip and our upcoming meal and the overnight air-conditioning. A magic place to stay and see the lake in style.

We have said it all before ! This is a wonderful place with the most amazing food and kind, generous people. It is THE ideal spot to relax. The family now provides (since January) a room with bathroom for drivers. We cannot recommend it highly enough. It was our fifth stay here so that says it all.

We spent one night here after a night on a rice boat. It was the best place we had stayed all holiday and we wished we could spend more days here. The owners were very kind and friendly. The food was fantastic and it was lovely to eat at a shared table where we talked to interesting people. The accommodation... More
