My wife and I visited Nimmy and Paul's B&B to undertake a Cooking Class as part of our luxury guided tour of India. Walking through the doors of the white two storey home, we felt that we had entered a film set and restaurant. That is exactly what it turned out to be. A very professional presentation of the spice culture of the Kerala Region followed. We were enthralled by our teacher pouring spice into pans and with a few shakes of a spatula, mysterious fragrances wafted around the room. It was with great excitement that we learnt that all the meals made on that day would be served as our lunch. Paul was a gracious host and supported Nimmy in sharing her cooking expertise with us. A group of able assistants helped prepare food in a large kitchen adjoining the room containing the presentation cook top, so there would definitely be enough food for a coach load of hungry tourists. We were very pleased with the lesson, the booklet and the delightful meal. A visit to this cooking class is highly recommended.

Our group visited Nimmy for a cooking demonstration. She tailors her recipes so that tourists will try it at home. She made a shrimp dish for our group as well as some coconut infused dishes. She puts everyone at ease with her candor about her life.
I was very impressed that she makes her own coconut milk and coconut oil. That is a very labor intensive job.

heard a lot about nimmy and paul. logged on to the web site... no response. tried no of times ...no response.... they don't give their contanct no/ mob phone. looks like pretty exclusive place... great !!! being a die hard, went to the residence of nimmy and paul. met Mr Paul... explained to him all I wanted was one meal.., however, was told we cater to only foreign tourists.... trying to hide my feeling of surprise and anger, I tried to convince Mr Paul that I was ready to pay the same amount as foriegners paid and being a person who truly admired kerala cooking, I could be given one slot.. at their conveince. Mr Paul promised to get back to me but he never did. What I guess is that they are conducting their business through private operators and travel agents etc... Looks like this is a place which has become highly commercialised. First signs of a place a true food lover should avoid. Mrs Nimmy we wish you the very best in your food business, howewer, please do understand that if all of us were catering for only foreigners like you do, then we would be still under british rule. Iam sure your laundary man in not british, your milk man is not American, your maid is not german....... then why ma'am are you catering to only foreigners. sad very sad and please if you are booked please reply and say so. guys let me tell you kerala cooking is so much fun and there are many more options available in cochin and areas around to learn kerala food.

Went here to have some amazing food with a large group of people, after a long introduction to "master cuisine" I was expecting the greatest food in the world. It was a big disappointment. The plates took forever to come out and the food wasn't good. The chicken was dry and nothing really stood out. The best part about this experience was leaving. People were really nice and welcoming the property is really cozy and clean. I would love to stay there, but as far as the food it just wasn't there.

Attended in a group as part of a tour of the area. Had been looking forward to it. Started with lunch. First course was soup. When we asked what flavour we were told it was soup ! Didn't really get any better. Yes we learnt a bit and went away with a few tips, plus enjoyed a reasonable meal. The cookery cards were good but the entire group got the impression that Nimmy was glad to see the back of us.A bit disappointed really.

What a cook she is, this fantastic lady Nimmy. From the reception until the last taste all was just a delight for the eyes and the palate. 4 recipes were given : potato Marsala, Thoren ,Kerala curry and Chemeen Ularthu. Very well explained in details for the ingredients and the way to proceed. And the dinnertable was nicely put up and she was a most interesting person to talk with. A very succesful evening, showing the excellent Keraka cooking.

Nimmy is a lovely person and clearly has a passion for food. I got the feeling that she is doing too many cooking demonstrations and as a result it has become a chore. Yes we learnt a bit and went away with a few tips, plus enjoyed a reasonable meal. However far from the best of this style of cooking demonstration I have experienced.

We arrived in Cochin on the 18th of January on the Silversea Silver Wind. We had seen that this was an excursion offered by Silversea and did some research on Nimmy & Paul via the internet well in advance and noticed that they could be booked directly which we did. We were a party of 6 (5 great cooks, and me) and Paul was very prompt in his replies to our email inquiries. He was even kind enough to arrange a taxi for us for the day which we paid directly to the driver however Paul made sure we got superior quality at a reasonable price. Our research paid off and we were able to secure NImmy & Paul's services for the full day at a significant savings from the ship price. (We prefer to book our tours directly rather than through the ship to be able to customize our days to suit us and the price is always more reasonable) When we arrived at about 11 in the morning Nimmy & Paul were both there to greet us and welcomed us into their beautiful home. We had a short chat and then it was off to work in the lovely back yard which doubles as an outdoor kitchen/instruction area. It was a warm day and they both made sure that the fans were directed towards us and we were comfortable. We had a demonstration for about 5 dishes and then we sat down to have a wonderful lunch. During the morning instruction Nimmy endured many questions about spices, technique, and pots. Nimmy was assisted in her prep work by Baby, who was wonderful. Baby did not speak, however always had a smile, adding to the pleasant day. After lunch, NImmy and Paul found out from us where we wanted to tour and what items we wanted to buy and instructed the taxi driver where to take us. We saw the most popular tourist areas and purchased spices and pots. Nimmy and Paul did not accompany us as a previous poster has suggested. We then were taken back to Nimmy & Paul's to have a beautiful dinner. Because Nimmy had to receive the tour from our ship, she was not able to spend time with us, however Paul and their son Joseph did sit with us as we ate and were terrific company. After dinner, Nimmy did come to say goodbye, and sent us off to the Broadway Market to buy some more pots. Our taxi then took us back to the ship.
In short, Nimmy, Paul and Baby were wonderful people and accomodated our many requests. I would not hesitate to recommend Nimmy & Paul for a day of cooking to anyone who has an interest in Kerala cookery. Their home was spotless, comfortable, and quiet and the yard was beautifully maintained. We have already recommended them to travellers and would not hesitate to send anyone there way.
All of our group are fairly well travelled and this was truly one of the best days we have ever arranged.

What a treat to be welcomed to a private home, given a cooking demonstration and a delicious lunch. All very Indian. Our hostess , Nimmy was so interesting and professional. She will tell you, 'I am not a trained chef'. That's ok. We still learned how to make Meenmolee. And the afternoon just kept getting better.
