My husband and I just returned from a month's stay at Gramam Homestay in Kumbalangi Village about 8 km south of Fort Cochin. By renting the stand-alone cottage, we enjoyed an expansive view across the backwater and total privacy. There's no AC in the cottage, but breezes off the backwater (during the day) and fans (at night) kept us comfortable....

We enjoyed our stay at Gramam and Jos and his wife are welcoming hosts. We had one meal at the home stay and the food was wonderful. Jos is a great organiser and had organised our whole week in Kerala which was just as we had hoped for. The rooms and the beds are comfortable and the A/C efficient (a...

Situated just a few kilometres south of Kochi, Gramam Homestay is an amazing location to explore Kerala - or just to enjoy in itself. Set in walled grounds, with private jetty and access to the backwaters, Gramam Homestay is planted with mature coconut and mango trees - along with cinnamon bushes and pepper vines. The house and grounds are a...

Let me be objective here and will give the actual fact without beating around the bush. 1. Whenever anyone calls for enquiring the room, owner says not to book through websites and he usually gives a good discount if we pay by cash. 2. Owner is not accommodating. When we arrived on the first day at around 3 pm and...

Management response:

There were so many complaints on arrival and afterwards at gramam homestay. So finally I asked to “leave the room if you want" for the sake of their holiday. Then that became another big complaint! Both the guests were Indians settled in Australia. I wonder why they advice only to the foreigner - "To all foreigner I can say please...

We were traveling as a party of seven. My partner and I had requested an upgraded room and were given the bungalow - lovely. However the accommodation for the other five was two adjoining rooms, in the main house, which had a total of two double beds (one of which was only a three quarter one) and a single not...

This review is flagged 2015 but actually it is a belated review of Jos’s Homestay after our visit in 2012. We really should have written it on our return but back in Britain our ordinary life took over and somehow it slipped our minds. Now that we are returning next month we want to tell everyone why! Gramam is the...

We arrived at Gramman Homestay after a long overnight flight. We are a family of five and stayed at the bungalow for one night. The position of the bungalow is magical- beside the backwaters with a beautiful view of the sunset. The verandah and hammocks share the beautiful views. The bungalow is very clean and comfortable with 4 single beds,...

India is full of life...it is one of the joys but also can be the challenge. Then you have Gramman Homestay - we were a family of four and had the bungalow for 2 nights. I felt we had found the only quiet place in India. It was gentle with no cars, boats or people passing by! I was sick...

Spent 2 nights with my family at this heavenly place and I could not get enough of it. Thanks to Mr. Jos and his wife for providing such a lovely place to relax. Everything was at its best - the accomodation, the food, the weather. It could'nt have been any better!!. I am going to definitely make it a point...

“They have a house bang opposite the riverfront with direct view and secluded as well. Opt for that if available. It had a night sit out with good breeze from the river along with the view. Also quite nicely done traditional home.”
