MG Road
One of the most popular shopping, entertainment & business hubs of Bangalore that beautifully binds the old world charm of the British era with the modern cosmopolitan vibes is MG Road. It is one of the busiest main streets of the Bangalore Cantonment connected to its larger family of colonial streets that spread through the city, sprinkled with the charm of oldest buildings and churches. From hopping across cafes, restaurants and the oldest pubs & clubs of Bangalore near Church Street to street shopping at Brigade Road to surfing through best book deals at Blossom, MG Road is a convenient getaway for all locals who just want to chill. The evenings near M.G. Road are incomplete without a stop at U.B. City on Vittal Mallya Road for the swankiest nightlife with some of the best rooftop views of the city.

The property is located on a side/service road. The reception lobby is very ordinary which spoils the first impression. The rooms are ok. Has a small swimming pool. The price is bit high for the quality.

The Hotel is extremely well located, being just off Brigade road and in the heart of the city. The rooms are large and well maintained. Beds are comfy, TV is great. Well everything that a good hotel needs to be . But wait. If you are organizing a conference there, think again. The Hotel primarily caters to the workshop conference needs of corporates in the city and has (I think) at least 6 to 8 conference halls and rooms located on the ground floor and second floor. The Hotel does not have a restaurant and serves a buffet to the guests who come for the conferences. It does not make separate arrangements for each of the conferences but instead arranges for the buffet on the terrace. So at 01:00Pm you have a swarm of 100 to 150 hungry participants are crowding at the buffet tables. Its sad to see execs standing in a long line sometimes stretching a long long way! Its a virtual push shove grab affair. The dinner is a more relaxed affair as most of the participants have left for their homes being locals or having come for a one-day conference. The other sad participants who have come for longer duration conferences or have to stay there are also served a similar dinner but the afternoon crowd is missing. The Hotel seems stingy in serving food and what is strikingly missing is the cutlery and bowls to serve the vegiies and curries. Firstly there are long queues at the buffet tables and you have a choice.. either take justa bit and wolf it down .. no second helpings as there are a hundred other hungry souls standing in line. Its rude to break the line and one cant go to the end of the line to finish a meal. The other option is to pile your plate with all the food it can hold. This results in one big soggy mess with the dal mixing with the chicken curry and the chicken curry mixing with the curd rice and all mixing with the raita. My requests for bowls every single meal just did not register with the serving staff nor with their Catering manager and neither with their General Manager! The pool side meal could be very relaxing and satisfying if only theyr could learn a few niceties in serving food. However, I doubt they wil. Again, one very disturbing incident that happens every second day is the arrival of the garbage truck at an unearthly time of 03:45 AM. It backs in to the main portico with an extremely loud backing warning sound. So loud that the thin glass windows are no match to keep the sound out. So sleep good bye. The workers pick up at least 20 to 30 bags of garbage and make a good noise about it talking loudly amongst themselves and throwing in the bags on to the open truck. Once they are done, the truck once again starts off with a noise and makes it way spilling garbage in its wake. The stink is a different matter, which I would not want to remember. Before you ask me how i got a whiff of it, let me tell you that the noise was so loud that I came downstairs to see what was happening. While the check-in staff was welcoming and took my baggage to my room, the check out staff did not bother to see me off. they knew that I would be gone whether they helped out or not! A few photos of the room and of course the garbage truck are attached.A 100 marks for location, a 90 for clean rooms, comfy beds, toiletry but a big zero for hospitality and service and service.

It was my first experience at The Grand Magrath and it was really mesmerizing. Great spacious rooms. The look of the hotel is like a palace and cherry on the cake is the roof top resturant. I strongly recommend it in mid-range luxury place.

Decent business hotel. Had booked for a conference for two days. The hall was good and staff was okay. Food was not the greatest. The staff was slow, however helpful. Limited place to park, but there is a valet.
