Amazing experience such hospitality from the guest service Ms Glawice Lewis ,Mr Kunal they helped me with my points and discounts and the Upasana swea me Venkatesh and Neha at the coffee shop for going out of the way to help in the warmest welcome and hospitality... thank you guys!
Excellent food. Good menu options. Deserts are a must try. We tasted Indian & Italian food. Hospitality is always best at Taj. All the necessary precautions are taken for Covid 19 pandemic. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
We have been to numerous Taj Hotels across India as a Tata Associate. This was by far the worst experience we've had in a long time now. We are thinking if its worth re-booking via Tajhotels going forward. For the starter, every Taj hotel typically sends out a form post-booking to know guest preferences for say the mattress, pillow softness, etc. And if the guests are coming in to celebrate any special occasion. We were celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary on Feb 14-15 and wanted to make it special and hence this visit to Bangalore was planned for 8 nights (first two at Taj 13th and 14th nights). This time, no such form was sent, so the Hotel staff did not know what we were in Bangalore for an did not have any input to make it special in any-way. On arrival on Feb 13th, around 4 pm, we were not told about pre-booking tables at in-house restaurants. And we were not aware that they had a Valentine special dinner at all restaurants on the 13th night itself. So, when we approached in-house restaurants for a table at around 6 pm, we were told by two main restaurants (Blue Ginger and Machan) that they won't have a table for us. Yes, you read it right, in-house guests did not have a guarantee to be served food in the in-house restaurants. We were 'suggested' to have food via the in-room dining. Thankfully, Ms Glawice from the front office team stepped in and spoke to the restaurant staff and somehow magically managed to arrange a table for us at Machan. That night being Valentine's special dinner, only buffet was served. And it was aggressively priced, obviously, we were not informed about that until we landed up at the restaurant with a 7-year-old who was pretty tired(from the awesome property tour on foot conducted by Mr Prasad) and hungry. The dismay is not about the pricing but more about the fare itself. We are regulars to Hyatt, Sheraton, ITC and Marriott buffets and it was a generic 5-star buffet fare with very limited special drinks on the menu(we are both teetotalers so we had the Non-alcoholic champagne). This is all Night 1 at the property. We seriously were thinking of checking out and going to ITC or another property around 7 pm when Ms Glawice called-up and told us about the table being arranged, so we gave up on that thought. The breakfast was awesome and we were lucky to get tables both mornings we were there. …
Overall the experience was fine . However we came to celebrate our anniversary but the service was really slow. The staff was quite occupied as there were three weddings booked at the hotel. Still we had a nice time and will try to come on a weekday next time to gain the maximum value.
Stay was very comfortable. Ambience was excellent. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Buffet lunch was sumptuous with good spread. Scope for improving the taste. Staff are courteous and helpful.
