MG Road
One of the most popular shopping, entertainment & business hubs of Bangalore that beautifully binds the old world charm of the British era with the modern cosmopolitan vibes is MG Road. It is one of the busiest main streets of the Bangalore Cantonment connected to its larger family of colonial streets that spread through the city, sprinkled with the charm of oldest buildings and churches. From hopping across cafes, restaurants and the oldest pubs & clubs of Bangalore near Church Street to street shopping at Brigade Road to surfing through best book deals at Blossom, MG Road is a convenient getaway for all locals who just want to chill. The evenings near M.G. Road are incomplete without a stop at U.B. City on Vittal Mallya Road for the swankiest nightlife with some of the best rooftop views of the city.

As a family, one looks for some more conveniences than provided in OYO Townhouse. Stayed for one night. but the room I got seemed to be deficient in the required conveniences even by their own standards and had to be asked for. Maintenance needs to be improved so does the service. The breakfast options were limited. The best thing about the place is its central location right on the city centre. The staff were listening and hey did try to redress the inconveniences due to shortfalls and compensate for the same. But , then, one does not expect them in first place.

Stayed here for a night only as was sharing with a friend and her little daughter( who mainly booked the place). Staff were very helpful at reception and offered to help with bags and were even prompt when asked for the extra bed which they sent immediately. They were also good with the service in the restaurant. The place is overall pretty basic and clean and works for people on a budget like my friend who was staying there longer and wasn’t really looking for any frills or fancy. It does the job and even the restaurant upstairs had limited choices but decent tasting food ( some Manchurian Chinese and fried rice , Chapati, Dal and chicken gravy stuff )with basic melamine cutlery etc. We wanted to order room service but staff on the phone didn’t quite comprehend our order in Hindi/English, so not sure if it was a language barrier. He didn’t seem to understand either when asked to put another person on the phone who could understand us. That was perhaps the only frustrating part of the stay. However even for a basic townhouse concept and for the price point , just perhaps few things could be improved. We were anyways too busy in and out of the place just to change / sleep etc for an event we were attending nearby. All of this is purely feedback and not really a complaint being out most of the time or else am sure they would have helped. The room earlier given to my friend didn’t have a kettle but the next one she changed to did. Be a good idea to have those in every room I think. Didn’t have the breakfast the one morning I was there so can’t say about that. Ac cooled alright, WiFi was slowish, Water was hot enough in our bathroom which was clean but slightly lime-scaled with old water marks, Hair dryer is tiny so get your own If you have long hair, and perhaps your own towels as they are not the cleanest looking.Only certain plug points in the room worked effectively. Overall good value for money, albeit few other minor things mentioned could be improved !

On arriving, the place for the price looks well worth the money. The staff are very helpful not withstanding the arrival time. On being taken to our room we were very disappointed with the condition of the room as multiple cobwebs could be seen around and the windows do not have a mesh so you’ve loads of room for creepy crawlers. With such excellent staff at the front desk, namely barath, I don’t see how much can be done when there’s a problem with the rooms.
