Detailed Reviews
The Mar Tse Mik Camping Resort is the place to enjoy the beauty of Majestic Pangong, very close to the lake in the Spangmik village. The rooms/tents are super comfy with wonderful service. One need to book in advance as it is very hard to get hold rooms/tents here. The staff take care of the guest very well and goes the extra length to make our stay comfy and memorable.

When I was planning my Leh trip, I had several questions around the camp accommodation available at Pangong, but couldn't find many first-hand reviews.....so here's mine.
To start with, there aren't too many options for stay at Pangong, just a couple of seasonal camps. They typically all open in May and close in October, depending on the snow. As one would expect at such a high altitude, environmental conditions aren't favorable, air is too thin and temperature easily drops sub-zero at night.
We booked MarTseMik camp through a travel company in Leh, you don't want to take chance of going there without confirmed booking (only to return back without a night stay...which by the way is the best part). As there isn't any place around to eat, packages typically are AP based.
The camp is located bang on the side of the lake, near its starting point. It is a set of 10-15 tents in a fenced ground (don't remember the exact count), with a dining camp and a more permanent structure for kitchen and staff (a couple of concrete rooms are also their, but we didn't check them). Tents are clean and have attached bathroom (western style) with water supply. Tents are setup on concrete slabs, have carpet and big enough to accommodate a double bed (detachable), a small table, ample space for luggage and to walk around. Electricity is available for limited hours and a battery operated lamp is provided for night.
Nothing here can and should be compared with mainstream hotels in regular tourist cities and same applies to the service. Staff was expecting us and served us welcome drink (tea) as we reached. Food was simple vegetarian but good. Staff keeps running to make sure you feel comfortable with whatever they can arrange here. In night, after we went to our tents, they supplied hot water bottles, without us asking for it (do take them....you will need to stay warm). In morning, they served bed tea and provided hot water buckets. In essence, despite the conditions, staff does try to get you everything you would or wouldn't expect and that really makes your stay great.
Overall, I would highly recommend spending one night at Pangong and staying at MarTseMik camps. You can walk around the lake as much as you want and enjoy sun-set / sun-rise from the camp. Finally, some interesting stories about indo-china border activity is complimentary.

We(Me and wife) stayed in this camp for a night in the last week of August. The tents were clean, and warm water was provided on request. The staff was extremely courteous, well behaved, and made extra effort to ensure the guests have a pleasant stay. The dining area was perfectly setup and the quality of food was superb. The place experiences sudden change of weather and it becomes really chilly at night and sometimes it rains a well. Moreover, the sight of the pangong lake with clear blue water will be a once in a lifetime experience for anyone. At night, the sky is completely clear and will be a delight for people interested in watching stars. The flag hoisting ceremony besides the lake is a must watch in morning where you'll see 6-7 army jawans battling it out to raise the huge Indian flag on top of pangong. Extremely proud moment for any Indian to watch.

This place is just located at exact distance from pangong lake. Not too close not too far. You will have an amazing view from here. Food was just outstanding and unexpectedly delicious. There is small mountain to trek just behind the property but beware of the local dogs i.e. KHEE. I would suggest this is most preferred camp at pangong.
Cons- smell of toilet. You have to bear it.

On the positive side this camp is located right at the start of Pangong lake far away from the place where most of the camps are crowded together. Food gets an average rating simply because given the remote and challenging location, the cooks deserve praise for whatever they come up with. The rest is all negative. Tents are in bad condition with the main flaps not zipping up properly. Toilets could be in better condition. Hot water supply is limited to half a bucket per tent. One of our fellow travellers had stayed here earlier and said that it used to be a much better place earlier but that's not what we experienced. Don't know if any of the other tents are any better but from the outside Pangong Sarai definitely looked like it was in a different league.

Friendly staff. Upgraded me to a better accommodation. There are few beach chairs facing the majestic lake where you can relax and meditate. As for meals, it is served in buffet style within a very nice cosy common dining area ( huge tent) where everyone dine in together. Overall, nice friendly and clean.

+1
There are around 18 tents and camp it is on slightly elevated ground next to the beginning of lake.
They had served us hot tea on our arrival. Dinner is served from 7 PM onwards and breakfast is from 7 AM onwards. Both are buffet and served in tented dinning area, which is nice and cosy. Food is all vegetarian and simple.
The tent where I stayed have attached bathrooms and they supply 1/2 bucket of hot water in the morning to freshen up. Bed tea is served around 6 AM in tents. It is quite windy specially at nights and you can feel this inside the tents. If you stay in tent closer to the lake then it is a better idea to sit outside tent and look at mesmerizing lake. During the night there was a pair of small (smaller type) rats inside the tents and they were jumping around my bag, it disturbed my sleep.
One small piece of advice - It is on higher altitude as compared to the Leh and air is thinner, so there are chances you might feel bit uncomfortable and may lose some appetite. I had this problem at night but still I force feeded my self with whatever was easy to gulp down and was perfectly fine by morning.
The view of lake is really nice from camp and you can walk around lake. It was a nice experience and I love to go & stay there again.

The check-in process was easy. No ID documents verified. We stayed in one of the rooms. The camp has nomadic conditions. The bed and bedding was OK. However the bed linen was not changed or cleaned after previous customers checked out. There was not much house keeping done. The dust bins were not emptied after the last customer checked out.
Toilets were another league all together. The toilet seat was wobbly. Wash basin had saline water- no sweet water as we are used too. Wash basin drainage pipe was not connected to the drain and waste water instead was flowing in the shower area. No shower facility- common or private. You have to ask for warm water which is provided once in a day in the morning; roughly one quarter of a bucket is provided which is enough to wash your face and brush the teeth. We travelled from Leh to Pangong which was about 6-7 hours journey full of mountain dust. Imagine not being able to have shower after such a dusty day in the evening!!! We were not informed of such Nomadic conditions at the time of booking. So this was a shocker to us. There was a facility for bonfire. Man in-charge of the camp was reluctant to light it. There as a large group of bikers staying in the camp who insisted on camp fire and it was then reluctantly lit with very small quantity of wood supplied relative to the size of the fire pit.
The dinner and breakfast were OK especially the dinner tent was nice. The camp is located right at the beginning of the lake when arriving from Leh which is away from the film shooting point i.e the main viewing point. There are a few camps near the film shooting point which looked better.
The electricity supply is only for 3 hours in the evening from 7-10. Emergency battery operated light is provided.
Generally this stay was the most poor accommodation I have ever seen.
I am glad that our booking was only for one night as we were counting down minutes to check out time......

This camp is well located along the Pangong Lake. It is one of the first properties along the lake. Nice tents with ample thick blankets for the night made for a cozy experience. Their food spread was outstanding (dinner as well as breakfast) In my entire Leh-Ladakh trip, this was the only place with such a lavish spread. The hospitality was simply warm and excellent. The camps have a nice view of the lake. They have created lot of space around the camp for a sit-out, you can play games, music, dance around the bon-fire. If you are up for an early morning trek, you can take a short trek behind the camp which will give you mesmerizing views of the Pangong lake. The owner and staff are so soft spoken and helpful with a constant smile, it adds to the charm of this place.

We visited this place in the last week of May and to reach here one has to pass the World's second highest Motorable road (Chang la pass) It was indeed an awesome memorable and a lovely day as we could witness a heavy snowfall at Chang La and we reached the Pangong lake at around 2 o clock into this restaurant. As we were very hungry we proceeded towards the buffet spread where we could see a variety of dishes waiting for us. The dishes were extraordinary and the taste was excellent. We could feel like we wee having home food inspite of travelling thousands of kilometres away from home. The veg manchow soup, the veg fried rice really needs to be mentioned as they were the notable ones which needs special appreciation. After having a tummy full lunch we proceeded towards the lake where we could see the mesmerising view of Pangong lake. But the good food which made us relish, gave all the satisfaction even after travelling more than 200 odd kilometres! Overall a mind blowing retreat both to eyes as well as stomach😇

I think it's better to pre book. September will be the end of the season, but there is ladakh marathon held in September which has a lot of people coming in and traveling to pangong. We traveled last September. I think we paid around 4k with breakfast included. Stayed in a tent.
Electricity is available only from 7pm to 11pm. They provide hot water in buckets and warm drinking water in flasks, as and when required. The quality of blankets they provide are sufficient even if temp drops below zero.
