Rooms were OK and hotel is really well positioned to experiece both old and new Manali. It was, however, let down by mediocre service. We were greeted when we arrived late following a long journey from Dharamsala and asked if we wanted to see their new bar. We explained we would like to eat and they said this was possible. Our bags were left downstairs and I went and fetched them myself after ten minutes of waiting - only to be joined in the lift by the bell boy looking for a tip!! After freshening up we went to the bar area and were presented with menus. After choosing what we wanted we were then told that only fries, chicken nuggets and veg nuggets were possible. This I know is a usual practice in India, bit I do not understand why they cannot come clean about what they can provide. Breakfasts were OK but nothing special. When our guide came to meet us at the reception area he was made to wait twenty minutes and treated quite rudely. They need to pay some attention to their customer service to raise the level of the guest experience.
