Everyone speaks about a stay at the Nizam heritage that Faluknama is. What I will say must have been said already. The room was spectacular but the bathroom was just out of the world with such polished marble structures and the walls adorning the bathtub were magical. The Biriyani was out of the world. The platter was amazing too. It’s a beauty that everyone should experience. And especially when you land up on a rainy day, overcast skies, making the ambience so romantic and perfect to appreciate every corner you see. However, I have 3 points to mention. I am not sure if anything will be done about this to compensate me for this but feedback comprises of both the positives and the negatives. 1. The AC in our room (220) was defective. It did not work. We had to call the electrician thrice who admitted the AC was faulty. When we book such an expensive affair for a night, the least we can expect is a technical glitch that will last throughout. The AC just did not cool the room and we literally spent some time sweating. I was very very disappointed as it dampened the stay so badly, I wished I was somewhere else. 2. We had lunch at Adaa and wanted to have dinner at Celest assuming the menu would be different and we discussed this in front of the waiters. But not for once did anyone mention or clear our misconception that Celest is just another seating area but the menu card would be the same. So, we ended up ordering most of the veg and non-veg dishes for lunch itself. So, at night, we felt quite at a loss because we thought we would have to repeat the same food. However, I don’t have much of a complain about this since the waiters serving us dinner at Celest were just so wonderful and served us dishes outside the menu as well noticing the sadness in our faces. They were really polite and considerate. So, it could be some ignorance on our part to assume this but since we were having a conversation about this with the waiters, we wished we were corrected. 3. After checking out, the concierge took our luggage to be kept at the cloak room. While leaving the room, we realised we forgot to keep a pair of slippers. So we asked someone for a bag and he kindly provided us the laundry bag to pack our slippers in it. For some convenience of future travel, we also put the room slippers we were using inside the bag. When we were about to exit the palace, there was a delay of about 30 minutes at the gate as nobody could find that bag. However, that’s fine too. I can let go of it considering some miscommunication and misplacement issues. But to my horror, when I opened the bag after reaching home, I see the room slippers are missing. Well, it’s not a valuable item, I get it. But the thought that somebody opened the bag, checked what’s inside, took out something from it without even letting us know - well, that’s something you don’t expect from a Taj hospitality :) That was a rather hurtful experience. Shudders me to think what if we had other things in the bag which we would not want anybody’s attention for. After all it’s our personal belonging. And, we were at the hotel for the palace tour till about 7. So there was ample time for everyone to check if we took away anything that wasn’t supposed to be taken. So we couldn’t possibly have hidden anything in our bags right? The last incident put a bad faith in an innocent and honest visitor like us. But I guess a 5-star speciality has different rules to double check their guests. I wish this was not done. I have travelled enough in and outside of India but have never faced something like this where my personal belongings were fidgeted with. And I hope those room slippers were not offered to someone else since they were used ones, even more reason for us to carry it back with us :)…
Unsung Heroes of Taj Falaknuma- Raju Rathod, Security.. Raju Rathod, Kailashpathi and Venkat ( There are others too) play a important role apart from Security function which elevates the stay experience. 1. They are excellent guides and one would get to know a tip or two about the palace 2. They keep guests informed of important events in the hotel 3. They act as wonderful photographers and they know all the right places to take memorable shots. Raju took us pn a room tour of the presidential suite ( Nizam's Suite) and a well detailed tour it was.
This was our third stay at the Palace and still makes us wish to visit repeatedly . We were received at the Gates of the Palace where were parked our Car and a Horse drawn buggy took us to the Main Palace. A wonderful reception with Rose petals falling from up above, onto us welcoming us. Indeed a Royal Reception. We were privileged to get an upgrade promised to us by Reservations executive Ms Lata. Mr Sajjad at reception, ensured a contactless Check in very efficiently and smoothly. It took us only a few seconds to check in. Housekeeping Staff was great and Jagjeevan took real good care of us and our room. Environment and ambiance is beyond description. The property is very well maintained. Food is out of the world. Chefs are matchless. Mutton preparations are unmatched. Simply melted in the mouth. Restaurant staff led by Nasir and Pabitra are outstanding. Santosh , Shreyas, Sudhakar , Priya, Shanti and all other dedicated staff ensured we were guided to choose our orders. Breakfast was a grand affair. Excellent spread. We loved each moment spent at the Palace and would visit again….for sure.…
Stayed there for 3 days in March. The place right from the entrance gives you the royal feeling. The buggy ride to the main building, the royal welcome, all takes you back to the grand nizam legacy. The place is full with the rich history of an bygone Era. The rooms were quite modern though. Off course there are many rooms which gives a feeling of history. The rooms were beautifully decorated and luxurious. Food at the restaurants are lavish and awesome. It's a place worth spending your money. Must try a walk around during morning and evening. And also don't miss the amazing musical performances during evening hours. Overall an amazing experience enhanced by superior service from team Taj
