DO NOT go to this hotel it needs a complete refurbishment as I stayed for 1 night only. The room was a disgrace it was damp and smelted of mildrew. No glass on the bathroom window, no shower curtains everyone could see right in the shower room when showering. No bath mat, no soap. The air conditioning unit didn't work. The TV didn't work amd no controls. The sockets in the bedroom didn't work The door handle is filled up blu tac as they filled a hole. This room should NOT be rented out to guests. The stairways and railings needs a good clean filled with dust the hotel needs to be closed down. When complained to the Manager I was told that they have the money now so there is nothing they can do as they do not have any other rooms and can't refund the money back. This should NOT be allowed.…
UGH!!! if i had not paid would have left within an hour! place has gone to the dogs........stayed here many years ago and it was fine. Guess Covid and everything have now put this right down. at least they have painted the outside! Ok you pay for safety deposit box you pay for fridge. Room dated but by Gambian rooms ok. Shower awful drip drip no hot water all the time i was there. no slip/towel mat for floor. BUT the worst was a massive hole at the outside of the bath!! yikes i was worried about vermin coming thro....more about that later! drain hole in the floor was always overflowing. bed hard as nails pillows same. A/C very loud rattled like mad but you need it on. the fan in the sitting area worked but then with a huge bang exploded in a cloud of smoke. they did come in and fit a towel rail! and replace a settee with 2 seats....no idea why. Outside no brollys for sunbeds and its very very hot. Sunbeds are filthy they hose them whenever but they are encased in dirt. pool cleaned each morning but you have to ask repeatedly for a towel. loads of cats & kittens you get no peace if you are eating. And a couple of rats sneaking around........i hate rats! management were warned to deal with this or the place would be closed down, dont know if they did? in one shaded area the place was not cleaned plenty of cig butts and litter oh and no ashtrays around doesnt help. The toilet at the pool is disgusting I used the room instead. bar charges double the price for a beer compared to the strip why ive no idea, and the TV displays only half a screen. plenty of Gambians including staff stay here so appear the majority at times. some English & Dutch. Older men with young Gambians stay too. But what disgusted me was staff being paid to sleep with visitors ill not go into details but management knew all about this despite such activity being illegal in Gambia. Ive been to Gambia for many many years id advise avoiding this place.…
Restaurant... no food on that date... the manager reproaches me for having reported it to the reception Room: TV out of order, no soap in the shower, no mirror in the bathroom. Hotel under renovation: no use trying to rest during daytime...
Not a great hotel. We were a large group and lots of rooms had issues. From showers being cold or not working, noisy or broken AC, some rooms didn't have enough beds for the amount of people sharing and barely any single beds so had to share double beds. The bar was not always stocked so it was pointless looking at the cocktail menu. Having said all that, the Staff were polite, especially Alio, the Restaurant Manager. The hotel needs a full refurbishment and there is evidence this has started.
Having originally booked this hotel for 12 days, I immediately looked to move me, my friend and her 4 year old daughter to an alternative hotel after the first night. After arriving just after 9pm and settling into our family suite it was clear the rooms were in need of a major refurbishment. We also had an unexpected rodent guest in the room and had to get reception to sort before we could sleep. In the morning it was apparent there were no other females or families at the hotel, only single older men. The pool was grimey, oh and some locals came into the resort and were smoking marijuana around the pool. Suffice to say we did not feel comfortable especially with a 4 year old in tow! A local tour company - Black and White safari helped us to relocate (would definitely recommend black and white 100%) to a more family friendly, comfortable and secure location. If you’re an older single guy looking for that kind of thing in The Gambia, this is the place for you…..families avoid!…
having been a frequent guest of this hotel over a number of years,it has gone downhill and is being run with a skeleton staff. It needs a major refurbishment and more staff. This is just a personal opinion.
Stayed here for 2 weeks, first 3 days my door was broken, so slept with a chair pressed up against the door for 3 days, asked to be moved rooms they refused. Locksmith came out 3 times to fix door, the first time they sent a child, no older than 14. Door appeared to be fixed then broke after 30 mins. A different locksmith came, and just completely broke the door. And finally the last locksmith came and replaced the entire lock, which ended up keeping me locked inside my room for an hour. For the first week I had to physically fight with the door for it to open, this becomes tiring and irritating, so had to end up damaging the door in a way that allowed me to lock and unlock my door with ease. During the first week my ac was working fine. All of a sudden in my final week the ac started leaking droplets of water constantly, the point where the floor is completely flooded. Taps & showers are okay, however there was times where there’d be no water coming out of either, so if you midway through showering this can cause problems. All in all, this was a complete waste of money. I’d advise you to look elsewhere for accommodation. The only reason I gave 2 instead of 1 star is because the bar staff and the restaurant staff were very friendly.…
Simplistic, Fun, Excellent Location. Yup that's the hotel . Where within 200 meters you can have hotels varying from $150-300 per night the rates here are affordable and excellent. Variety of cuisines within 300 meters is astonishing Chilled out pool lounge, great evenings. Excellent for business travellers and families alike. Safe and secure environs
The room was clean and breakfast was acceptable. WIFI was available only in pool area but was slow. Hotel is 10 minutes walk to Senegambia street where you can find some nice restaurants. To the beach you need to walk 15 minutes. Close there is the supermarket where you can buy water or food. Beer in the bar costs 100 dalasi. In restaurants on Senegambia street 50 to 60. For coffee in the bar I paid 100 dalasi. The hotel is good if you stay there for night before trips to the Gambia and before leaving. In rooms with the window on the highway could be loud.
Didn't book this hotel booked sister hotel because of late arrival as plane had issue and we were re directed we been sent to this smelly hovel. First night we got put in a room for 3 adults a double bed and my friend slept on cushions on floor. Then got told we had to move to smaller room as this was already booked out. We got offered room 46 it stunk of damp and ceiling in bathroom was black. We got moved to another room which again smells of damp room 48 what horrible rooms. First room had mosquito nets, and was acceptable but this really isn't. Going to try again tomorrow for another room as really not happy. It has took 4 days to get here not through fault of our own and now being put in a damp room not my ideaof stress free holiday. We have even offered to pay for upgrade but they won't budge. Pic of 2nd room still smells of damp…
