The room was clean and breakfast was acceptable. WIFI was available only in pool area but was slow. Hotel is 10 minutes walk to Senegambia street where you can find some nice restaurants. To the beach you need to walk 15 minutes. Close there is the supermarket where you can buy water or food. Beer in the bar costs 100 dalasi. In restaurants on Senegambia street 50 to 60. For coffee in the bar I paid 100 dalasi. The hotel is good if you stay there for night before trips to the Gambia and before leaving. In rooms with the window on the highway could be loud.

Didn't book this hotel booked sister hotel because of late arrival as plane had issue and we were re directed we been sent to this smelly hovel. First night we got put in a room for 3 adults a double bed and my friend slept on cushions on floor. Then got told we had to move to smaller room as this was already booked out. We got offered room 46 it stunk of damp and ceiling in bathroom was black. We got moved to another room which again smells of damp room 48 what horrible rooms. First room had mosquito nets, and was acceptable but this really isn't. Going to try again tomorrow for another room as really not happy. It has took 4 days to get here not through fault of our own and now being put in a damp room not my ideaof stress free holiday. We have even offered to pay for upgrade but they won't budge. Pic of 2nd room still smells of damp

I have had no toilet for Day 3 now . Plummer attended twice , and still not fixed . Now been told to move rooms and door handle has fallen off so all my belongings are at risk if I leave as door cannot lock . Awaiting cleaner to clean room that I am moving into - no rush or priority to clean room . Electric keeps tripping and plug sockets don’t work .

This is a Gambian run hotel where we stay each year we visit The Gambia. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. We stay in rooms overlooking pool with a shared balcony, rooms are basic but very comfortable. Love the huge beds and always sleep well. Breakfast is good with omelette, eggs and pancakes cooked to order. Lovely fresh bread and the other food available is basic but good. Evening 3 course meal available for 600d each and always very good. We love it here. It's small, gorgeous plants which are well maintained by the gardener. Monkeys occasionally visit, so shut your room door! Very friendly and entertaining to watch. You are in The Gambia, so don't expect it to be like staying in a hotel in Europe! If you want to experience the country, don't expect luxury. This is a third world country and the locals need your support. The locals earn very little money, 60p a day, so show your appreciation for their help and friendliness and tip accordingly! The hotel is a ten minute walk from the beautiful beach. You can find peace or liveliness here. There is good local entertainment in the evening by the pool bar (with great barman!), all drums which are loud, but finish by 8.30. We love it here, support the local Gambians! Don't be rude to the people, smile, be friendly and you'll get the respect back. Hate reading reviews about the AC, the Wi-Fi etc, you are in Gambia.. Enjoy it! The Internet is not great anywhere here, you cannot use your UK phone to call out here, you get what you see. Be happy!

Positives: Friendly breakfast staff. Clean grounds. Live music. Negatives: Poorly working ACs, TVs. 2 people came to fix both but never came back. I had to go to the office twice to get help. Afternoon/Evening staff in particular is very nonchalant about customer issues. Mattresses are not comfortable at all.
