It is a big hotel that is being renovated, but there is still a lot of work to do. Neither of the two pools was available. Breakfast choice was quite poor, but that was probably because there were not many guests. Friendly staff as usual in The Gambia. There is no direct access to the beach but a short walk will take you there either via Mansea Beach or Bamboo Garden.
Room had a faulty shower with no hot running water. The hot water i didn't mind because the Gambia is hot. No wardrobe or closet to store valuables. Hotels is in a way dilapidated and old. It could use fresh paint and restoration to its glory. The pool was not available but the beach is a five minute walk and there are some nice places to see beach side like Pocoloco.... The breakfast was terrible, no bar at the hotel and the fridge had cockroaches that i asked the hotel cleaners to attend to and it took three days to sort out. The air conditioner was faulty and dripped with water that accumulated on the door next to the balcony. Eventually i asked the hotel to place a 5 liter bucket so that the water from the air conditioner didnt drip back into the room. I asked for an extra pillowcase that wasnt provided. No tea or coffee amenities inside the room. The hotel itself needs to make a few tweaks here and there...…
Its a very simple hotel located near Senegambia. The rooms are not up to standard compared to other hotels in The Gambia. It rents out its hall which is for musical entertainment, conferences and weddings.
The place is worndown, no hot water, breakfast is poor, lots of things are missing and are broken but still this is the place I like to be for more then 5 years in a row now. Why: nice appartments, quiet gambian ambiance, good small pool, good location and no hustle.
We were a family of 5 staying at this hotel which we found to be very good. The staff could not have been any more freindly or helpfull no matter what the situation. We stayed in the hotels rooms which were basic but kept clean daily. We had quite a few problems with power cuts and also no water but as soon as the staff were told they resolved the matter quickly and efficiently. Modou the pool attendant was an absolute star being a really good freind to my two boys of 16. The whole visit to gambia is wonderful if you enjoy culture rather than the costa del sol or benidorm. We went on some excellent trips out all with Abdoulie whom you can locate directly outside the hotel with a white mini bus (being 5 off us we needed this but trust me it is the best car in gambia!) he is a very informative man who will do anything for you. treat him right and you will not go wrong. The buggy trip off the senegambia strip is also a must they are english and it is a day not to forget with many interesting sites on route. The food in Gambia is second to none and none of us had the banjul belly. It broke my heart to leave this marvellous country but i will be back soon!…
