I have stayed at this hotel many times under two different owners since 1999 and knowing what to expect from the location I decided to re visit, using a travel agent again, in Dec 2019 only because the rooms have been refurbished. Apart from the AC the refurbishment was either completed to an extreme poor standard or the bathroom had just a cosmetic makeover. The bathroom looked shabby and therefore felt dirty. I saw other rooms in this hotel during my visit and again the refurbishment was below the standard expected for the price being charged. The staff as always where extremely helpful. I will never return to this hotel.
Stayed at sunu from the 16th to 30th dec, from the moment my husband and I arrived we experienced nothing but helpfulness and friendly staff, nothing was to much trouble for anyone, we stayed in F304 so we had a balcony facing the strip which some people might find noisy and a balcony at the back facing the pool, it was just what we wanted, to be honest it was perfect, our room was spacious and was cleaned everyday by a lovely team of cleaners, our towels were changed everyday and the bed was changed about 4 or 5 times in the fortnight we were there, they always had time for a chat they were so helpful, the breakfast was plentiful and you wouldn’t starve even if u were fussy, there was juice tea coffee, plenty of fresh fruit, bacon sausage baked beans, and a choice of fried egg scrambled egg or omelette everyday, the pool area was lovely it was always being cleaned out, and a mention to the owner who is doing a wonderful job at the sunu he interacts with everyone even the staff, it was our first time at the sunu but my god it won’t be our last, thank u sunu for a fantastic fortnight my husband and I have nothing negative at all to say at all, keep it up and will definitely be back♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️…
As the local dialect means Sunu is ours, that’s the way you feel when you stay at the new Serges, has a nice location just walking distance from the best places to enjoy a drink or eating good food. Mr. Gildo the owner know how to make your stay the most enjoyable possible he’s experience on managing hotels in Gambia goes back to more than 25 years. He just tried to make a place simple and confortable, very very clean rooms with the basic things that you could need, the price is clearly stating the goal of his owner to give value for money services. I thing that will be difficult to find a place like the new Sunu for the small money you pay. Me I was just for business and did not use all the hotel facilities like swimming pool; direct path to the beach but I I have to say that the WiFi works considerably well and also enjoyed having a drink with some of my clients at the gardens bar. Fully recomendable if you plan to enjoy the beach and night life. M.L…
I've been going to The Gambia for many years now staying at various hotels. Sunu has just made changes to the hotel that are fantastic. The staff are welcoming and friendly and really can't do enough for you. The hotel is clean and relaxing, rooms are comfortable and are cleaned every day. The hotel is situated in an excellent position close to bars, restaurants and nightlife. I am definantly going back to the same hotel next year. The best hotel in Kololi by far. Ann Eastaugh.
There is no hotel call Sarges in the Gambia,The place is now called SUNU HOTEL. The hotel sunu is completely different from the previous Sarges hotel. The front entrance is superb, the front office bigger and more comfortable now, The garden much beautiful and the rooms completely upgraded. The breakfast now is excellent and full of taste.I could not help it but ask for the chef.I was so pleased that i had to give him a tip in appreciation. The hotel now offers an excellent service with friendly staff
