My husband and I stayed here on our last night in Tahiti and honestly, we were disappointed. Almost every staff member we spoke with was rude and acted like they didn’t want to be there. It was off putting coming from Moorea where the customer service was incredible. When we arrived in our room, we noticed the a/c wasn’t working so we called the front desk and they sent someone to come fix it. It still wasn’t working after they left so we called again and they sent someone for the second time. They finally got it working (kind of) but it was a process to do so and it seemed like we were an inconvenience to the front desk, when in fact, we were the one being inconvenienced. Despite the rudeness and the a/c having to be fixed, we weren’t going to let that ruin our night. We were excited to get ready and have a nice dinner on our last night being in Tahiti so we went to one of the restaurants that was open. The food was mediocre and my husband and I both ended up getting sick from something we ate. Definitely not how we wanted to end our last night. Our flight wasn’t until 10pm the following night so the next morning we continued to try and make the best of our stay. We went down to the pool and ordered fries (It’s the only thing they said we could order) and cocktails. Once again, we were greeted rudely and the bartender seemed annoyed we were there. While the food was mediocre, the staff was rude, and the overall experience wasn’t great, the pool is nice and there are plenty of spots to lounge around so you don’t feel overcrowded. They also offer shower rooms you can book to clean up before heading to the airport, which I thought was a great perk. In my opinion, I would never feel comfortable recommending anyone to stay here. There are so many other resorts on the island that I feel would have better food, better service, and an overall better atmosphere. …
Lost a lifetime customer over $200. Manava refused to refund for a measly one night stay when our flights were canceled due to the pandemic. We intended to come back and stay at Manava Tahiti and Manava Moorea when COVID passes but not with billing practices like these. We inquired three times through Hotels.com and then had to go to great lenths to contact the hotel and GM directly. Manava also said we 'no showed' despite messaging, twice, about our flight cancelations before our reservation and then proceeded to argue with me over email. Then lied and said that the "The Resort had lost the chance to resell the room that night." despite not being at capacity during COVID and having many other empty rooms. Ultimately, after sending proof of our flight cancellations Manava offered a credit and refused to refund our money. I would have taken the credit but not after being argued with via email and four times refused a refund. Manava has lost a customer for life over selfish billing practices. We understand the pandemic hit everyone hard, but they won't be bouncing back with customer service issues like this. If you read through the other reviews you'll find more issues like mine and worse about customers stay at the hotel. Manava - I'm ashamed of you. This isn't about the $200. I've lost more than $200 in time chasing this issue. What happened to customer service that's so good that your customers come flocking back to stay again and tell all of their friends? We fully intend to support Tahiti and its islands when the pandemics passes, but it won't be at Manava.…
We enjoy a couple of nights here at Manava Suite Resort before heading back home. This hotel is located close to the airport and there is a nearby park with great cafes and food trucks. The hotel offers the best sunsets. Our room view was perfect, overlooking the pool and also Moorea Island The hotel has a great bar and a restaurant. Also, they offer guided tours which you must do.
The hotel is okay. I can not mention anything super exciting about it, but it is not bad. My general feeling about the hotel is that it’s pretty basic. The lobby is nicely decorated. My check-in was fast. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, they ordered taxis for me every single time and gave me little tips. The hotel property is not very big, but you can walk around and enjoy the surroundings. The most negative thing about the hotel was that there was no beach! You can go directly into the water from a little pier using stairs, but the area where you can swim is so small and super rocky! I would recommend to wear shoes in the water. The hotel has a very nice swimming pool, but the water there was super cold, I wish they heated it even a little bit. The restaurant on hotel property was busy all the time, many people from outside the hotel came there for dinner every single night. I tried to eat lunch there once, but I did not like my food at all to be honest. Also everything on the menu was really overpriced. My room (#4207) was big. It had a little separated kitchen area right next to the front door. I liked the balcony and the nice view of the water from it. I did not like the bed at all, it was hard and really uncomfortable. The air conditioner did not work in my room, but I really enjoyed sleeping with the balcony doors open every night, the fresh ocean air was awesome! I liked that the actual toilet and the rest of the bathroom were separate from each other. The bathroom was big, and there was a bathtub and a shower stall there which is great! Meanwhile I did not like the bathroom amenities at all, they were a very bad quality. During the 3 nights stay, I never used room service, but every time when I requested towels they brought them to me pretty fast. Wi-Fi was working terribly in all areas of the hotel including my room. I could barely watch a YouTube video. Hotel’s location is okay. There are some little restaurants around the hotel, but in general there is nothing to do there. The ride to Papeete center is about 20 min, and it is pricy. I paid €22-25 every single time. I would recommend this hotel just for a layover and like a 2 nights stay. But if you want to have a nice vacation or especially a honeymoon then this hotel is the wrong option for you! …
We spent two nights here. It is close to the airport (about a $30 private taxi). Our room was facing the ocean and had all the basics. They follow COVID protocol and offer housekeeping which was a plus for us. The pool is really beautiful and we enjoyed spending time here. The food trucks just down the street were a nice option for the first night there as we arrived pretty late but they were still open. We also were able to walk to a French Restaurant that was really nice although after dark the road is a bit dangerous as there are sections without sidewalk. The hotel had breakfast which was nice.
