Our first guests arrived 3,500 years ago and liked the place so much, they stayed ...According to local legend, the first Fijians arrived around 1500 BC, landing on the beach at First Landing. Today, you too can discover and enjoy this intimate, authentic Fijian resort, ideally located only 25 minutes away from Nadi and 35 minutes from Denarau Island, for your Fiji holiday. The resort has easy access to the nearby Mamanuca Islands, by boat from the resort’s new jetty or adjacent Vuda Yacht Marina daily. The resort is nestled amidst magnificent tropical gardens, majestic palms and massive rain trees, just 15 minutes by road from Nadi Airport, and blessed with one of the only white sand beaches in the Nadi area. The beach faces due west, giving breathtaking sunsets across the nearby islands. We are a small, owner-operated resort, featuring a range of accommodation options from Fijian style Bures to our two bedroom, luxurious, self-catering Royal Villa or Garden Villas, each situated in their own enclosed tropical garden with a full sized pool. We also have a lively bar and popular beachside restaurant. We pride ourselves on personal attention to our guests, and the genuine hospitality of our staff will ensure your stay is a memorable one. First Landing Beach Resort is the perfect location for a destination stay in Fiji, in combination with an outer island resort or cruise or a short stop-over in Fiji due to our location. Come and learn about the fascinating history, culture and natural heritage of this very special place. First Landing Beach Resort is famous for our true Bula Pride and Spirit.

First Landing Beach Resort & Villas is acclaimed for its generously sized rooms, complete with amenities that contribute to a comfortable stay. The staff's friendliness and helpfulness are frequently highlighted, although there have been occasional mentions of slower service. The resort's cleanliness is a standout feature, with the well-kept rooms and villas often praised. While the amenities and family-oriented atmosphere receive commendation, some suggest the facilities could benefit from modernization. Generally, the resort is considered good value, but guests should be mindful of potential extra charges.

Lovely people, kind staff, relaxing, not too many kids running around.
Food is excellent
Book directly with the hotel, I have a 2 bedroom beach front villa $595.00 FJD a night roughly $400.00 Au
There is a yacht club next door 500m walk good food nice breeze to sit and have lunch, easy to get a metered cab so you know the general price when wanting to go into town or to the port.
Day trips can be arranged at your request

My wife and I had booked a one bedroom garden villa with private swimming pool but received a complimentary upgrade to a two bedroom beachfront villa with private swimming pool which we greatly appreciated. We usually stay in the Mamanuca Islands but decided to give First Landing resort a try and we are very glad that we did. Our villa was wonderful. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Special mention to Joe behind the bar who looked after us superbly. The food was the best we have had in Fiji (and we have been to Fiji well over 30 times) with lots to choose from and very reasonably priced. Thema in the spa gave me one of the best massages I have ever had. Can't wait to go back.

We ended up booking at First Landing last minute as the previous accom we were in was filthy. We booked on the day of so got a great price and 5 of us stayed in a beach front villa - wow. Our own private pool, beautiful private outdoor shower & an amazing view. The maids were so lovely and extremely helpful. Staff all around the resort were so friendly. Great food reasonably priced. Great spa with affordable massage options. Drink on arrival. We loved every minute of our stay here. Walking distance to a nice restaurant down the road that’s opened up in the marina if you feel like getting out to try something different. Only downfall is that we created three accounts for our room and they didn’t charge us all correctly but this was a minor flaw compared to the rest of our stay.

We did not have a good experience. We stayed in the “resort” for 2 weeks and had to ask the staff to change the sheets during that time because they were dirty. When I called reception to ask how I could ensure my sheets were changed I was told to let the housekeeper know when she came, I had to point out that I didn’t intend to spend the day in the room to let the housekeeping staff know to do this. On several occasions the rooms were serviced, and no clean towels were left, or not enough towels were left, when we called to get towels, we were told on one occasion that someone would bring them (no one showed up) and on two other occasions we were told that they were still washing the towels and they would be delivered, they came at 5pm. On yet another occasion I returned to the room as the housekeeper was leaving and asked for clean towels and she said I would need to get her the dirty towels from the bathroom so she could replace them. When we finally did get clean towels, they often smelt of mildew and were unpleasant to use. The room was not cleaned properly while we stayed in it, there was hair on the shower walls, mould growing in the shower, the surfaces and floors had dust and dirt on them. Overall, the cleanliness of the room was not good enough. This “resort” is advertised as 3.5 star, which indicates that it is above average, from my viewpoint this “resort” would be lucky to meet average, and in terms of cleanliness I would say below average. We were so unhappy that we left the resort for 2 nights to have a break from our holiday and travelled to Suva to stay in a 3-star hotel that was far superior in every single way!
The food available at the “resort” is of poor quality, we were charged almost $30 Fijian dollars for what was a frozen pizza, all the other food we ate at the hotel seemed to be deep fried frozen food.

On top of this we also had an issue with the air conditioning is sounded like there was an animal living the outside unit and we could hear it during the night scurrying around like it might come through the walls, I called reception and asked them to get someone to look at this, but it seems little was done. We spent every night listening in what sounded like rats burrowing into the walls of our bure.

Concierge service is the front desk person who when requested to book a taxi inflated the price, while sitting in reception we heard a price quoted for a taxi that was 4 times what we had paid the precious day. Often, we took taxi’s back to the hotel for a third less than reception at the hotel organised one for. When we questioned the price quoted it would suddenly drop by 20%, when you are staying at a hotel you expect the staff to assist you without feeling like they are ripping you off.

Very disappointing.

We got off to a rocky start with First Landing, we were delayed at customs and our driver we booked through First Landing decided not to wait around. Luckily a lovely woman working at the airport helped us out. She had seen him about and made some calls to get him to return. In the end he was a lovely guy but his driving was very erratic!

Staff upon check in were very welcoming and friendly and we instantly felt like we were well cared for.

We stayed in a Deluxe Garden Bure which is located in the older section of the resort. Unfortunately the quality of the room didn't quite meet expectations however the room was nice and clean. The bug screens around the bure were excellent and kept everything out! We chose this room as we were hoping to cook some of our own meals. The kitchen facilities were fine but there were very few utensils to cook with which made things difficult.
The staff did a beautiful job of room service each day.

Food wise, we had the self serve continental breakfast which had all the things you would expect. We also had dinner at the restaurant, the portions were very generous and the food was reasonable. They have meals to suit most dietary needs and I was able to order a vegan meal, however it would be great to see more thought put into the vegetarian dishes to include some protein.

Some have said the beach at First Landing isn't the greatest but we loved heading down there to swim, even at low tide there is a spot by the jetty. It's only meters from the restaurant and we often had the whole beach to ourselves. Listening to the performances at the restaurant while swimming under the stars was great! The pool area is a relaxing cool spot amongst the trees, it has plenty of space and shade for everyone. The staff really put alot of care into keeping the surrounding gardens tidy!

We found the staff running the taxi department can be quite pushy and you often feel unsure about reliability and price, could be an area for improvement for First Landing to make their guests feel more assured!

If we returned we would definitely book one of the newer rooms at the resort.

Vinaka to the FL team for making us feel so welcome!

We stayed in a Garden Villa, it was a pretty big 2 Bedrooms, with A/C, private pool, just a few steps from the beach. The villa was nice and clean, the resort was clean at all times, all of their workers, smile and greet you every time they see you, and Miriana is always helping everyone. The food and drink where good, as well as their prices.
I loved this resort, we arrived early and they where able to acomodate us right away.
I will definitely come back to this resort.

This was our third vist to Fiji and first time here,we stayed a week with family in the new beachfront villas and garden ones behind them. Very private and secluded from the rest of "tourist" Fiji. We hired a car and drove approx 25min from the airport and was able to park right at the villa. Staff were extra friendly. Food was great and also reasonable pricing compared to other places. Private pool right on the beach was fantastic. Yes when we return to Fiji for the 4th time it will definitely be here again !!
Just make sure you bring reef shoes 👍

The staff at this resort were amazing. I have never in all my travels met such warm, friendly and welcoming people. From the get go it seemed like you were one of the family. For us, wanting escape from lockdowns, it was perfect.

We stayed in room 311, which appeared to have been built around 1960/70 and apart from some maintenance here and there it was untouched. It was spotlessly clean, had a comfortable king bed and aircon. No TV and the internet wifi was not so much bad but totally useless, so ended up hotspotting from the phone and watching netflix on the computer. Perhaps a better experience here would have been in one of the villas which are modern and new. The pool is deep - fabulous for adults, but unsuitable for children who are small or not water confident. A regular hotel safe is provided in the room. Gardens are well maintained and beautiful.

The resort had very few guests at that time so not all services may have been running properly. Please give these lovely people a break - they are in recovery mode and trying real hard, well beyond the call of duty.

We loved this place from the minute we stepped out of the taxi and into the green tree covered corridor you walk through to get to the reception. Now we had come from staying a week in a 5 star hotel in Sydney. This isn’t 5 star, but in many ways we loved it even more.
We loved strolling down the beach front, when the tide goes down it was so fun for us to wander out and look for a few fun special sea shells to take home for our kids. The little “foot” island was fun to walk out to and walk around. We would stand there and just say how we were in PARADISE!
We stayed in an ocean front spa bure and loved it. We thought we’d have more of a beach in front of us, and at first seemed disappointed (it was rocks built up, not sandy), but it was actually just right. We could go lay in the hammock inches from the water and even enjoyed the water from our bed and sofa. We could easily walk out to the water and sandy beach just yards from our bure.

You do need to eat at the on site restaurant unless you pay/plan for other transportation. We thought we’d leave a few times, but at ate the restaurant on side almost every meal. We don’t usually eat breakfast, so we only ate lunch and dinner and each night we were very happy with the selection and the taste/quality of the food. We ordered chicken curry, pizza, BLTs, salads, all were very good. We were both surprised with the selection being pretty broad, that the taste was superb! Every night they also have entertainment at dinner. It made the stay special and we were exposed to some Fijian and other Pacific Island culture.

THE BEST part, was the staff and the way you get to know people when you are there. Everyone says “Bula” and they remember you, they remember your name, what drinks you order at your meals, and where you are from. The hotel staff, restaurant staff, and the entertainment staff were amazing. They even knew when it was our last meal (because we were waiting around after we checked out) and they came over to our table and sang a farewell song just for us. It was the sweetest thing…. I got teary eyed.

Our flight wasn’t until late at night so we checked out at 11am and then were provided with storage for our bags and we swam and sat around the pool, walked the beach, and ate lunch and dinner there before our flight. We were so grateful they let us stay and enjoy our day and they even let us use an empty bure to shower and change before our flight.

Don’t expect 5 star amenities, but this was AMAZING! We had everything we needed in our comfortable bure, with a large bathroom. It was magical being in our own private hut, listening to the waves and rain at night. The landscape and beach front was as beautiful as any picture in a magazine and the staff were all our friends and we were so sad to leave.

First Landings is a charming older resort - very welcoming, relaxing and friendly. The staff are lovely, the food and drink is excellent, the quality entertainment is authentic Fiji, every night. Stayed in a Bura/older garden villa, which was private, quiet, clean and large. No problem with servicing or keys. The Wifi is extremely unpredictable here. The beach is very nice, very shallow, safe swimming, so when the tide goes out, your left with little reef pools! The main resort pool is large, grate for a good swim and kept well with sun loungers; the garden surrounds the pool, which can gather leaves in the water. This resort is very relaxing, friendly, good value and well worth a stay, best go now before the new development plans to shape!

Is the beach good for swimming ? Do you need reef shoes ?
Yvonne K asked a question Oct 2022
Hi Everyone, I am seeking more information regarding the layout and amenities of the Nalamu Grand Villa, at First Landing Resort in Fiji. So, if any of you have stayed in this villa and can provide some information, I would be grateful. For context, my husband and I, and our two children, stayed in an Oceanfront Villa with private pool just before COVID hit on 2020. It was lovely. We now booking for a return visit, bringing family and friends with us this time. I am looking for information and/or images on the layout of the villa and it's bedrooms? I have seen the images online, which look mostly to be the downstairs area, and there is no floorplan online. I would like to understand the sizes and fit out of each bedroom, including the type/size/style of ensuites each room has? They also mention two open plan living areas. Is it one upstairs and one down stairs? What is the fit out and size of the living area upstairs? I am trying to organise who stays in what room and set expectations for all guests (to alleviate arguments, disappointment and room shuffling) as well as ensure my Mum (who has Parkinsons is accommodated comfortably). I'm also wondering if the 'office', which the staff have mentioned to me, can be used as a small bedroom? The information online also mentions two open plan living areas. Is it one living space upstairs and one down stairs? If you did stay in the Grand Villa and you can help shed any light on any of the above, I would be very grateful. Kindest, Yvonne

I apologise for the delay in answering this question - I acknowledge that the time has probably passed for the info for you, but perhaps it could help someone else in the future? We stayed in this villa and it was perfect for a large family! We had my mother (in one downstairs room with ensuite), myself in another downstairs room with ensuite, my sister in an upstairs room with ensuite (the largest of the rooms there) + my 9 year old niece and 9 year old son in the larger room with a few single beds in it. That room was huge though & longer rather than square shaped so had a few single beds in it, if that makes sense? I can see your mother being very well catered for by just staying on the ground floor, I didn't even go upstairs other than to tuck my son in at night to be honest! And yes, one living area is upstairs and one downstairs.
