My husband and I had a lovely week at NH Lodge. Upon entrance I noticed how clean the lodge was. The team, Susan Sarita and Peter worked very hard at keeping the hardwood floors shining, the kitchen free from dirty dishes and our bedroom clean each morning with fresh sheets and towels as needed. They made fresh fruit, homemade breads and granola, and French press coffee each morning which we ate whilst enjoying the panoramic views of the bay and ocean. Sharon the owner was always friendly, energetic and a great resource in planning our daily activities. We appreciated the free wifi and enjoyed the warm pool on the balcony. The lodge is very close to town and we had fun walking down to visit the local market, shops and restaurants. We are looking forward to visiting Savusavu again and are planning on staying at NH Lodge again.

Bula and Vinaka for taking the time to write us such a lovely review. I am very happy you appreciated the hard work our team do to create our little piece of paradise. Breakfast is always a healthy treat with our exceptional view and delicious home made bread and freshly grown fruit. I also glad you ventured into town and our hill was not too daunting on you! With the correct shoes its actually not too difficult! Yes our plunge pool is quite refreshing especially in the evening with a cocktail. We all look forward to welcoming you back to the Lodge and hopefully you get to see the Hammerhead sharks! Vinaka

Sharon and her team (Susan, Pitta and Vikash) are wonderful hosts and were always smiling and helping us however they could. The lodge has breathtaking views to the sea and nearby islands. The property is very nice and clean. Breakfast was different and tasty each morning and the small dipping pool was wonderful on a hot day. We had a great time with Sharon and her dog on a tour to the town, the village, waterfall and a hot water mud pool. :) Special mention to Sharon's lovely dog. Will miss you two and look forward of seeing you again. The lodge is situated on a very steep hill which you can walk if you'd like but they offer a cheap taxi service to town and back.

Unfortunately, our trip to Fiji did not start on a good note. We arrived in Fiji without our luggage and had no clothes or toiletries. However, the staff at Naveria Heights alleviated our worries. We were treated like family and they made us so comfortable. Fijian hospitality at it's finest. We mingled well with the other guests, and the staff we're always polite and patient with us. The location is remote, yet so close to the city. The view was second to none, and something that we truly miss. We'd just like to thank Susan, Pita and Viri for the warm Fijian hospitality. Until next time family. Vinaka.

just back from a trip from fiji. naveria heights was one of my placed of accommodation. a friend had recommended it and i was waaaaaaay better than i imagined. loved the breakfasts, managed the hill walk, which really wasn’t that bad! Even took Zeus, the cute dog, on a jungle hike with Rodney - our tour guide - and went rivertubing, definitely would recommend this. Even treated myself to a fabulous massage on my deck. I definitely would return! vinaka

Bula Sascha and thank you for your kind review. Our hill always gets mixed reviews, but like you say, its not that bad and a bit of exercise while on holiday is maybe a good thing! Susan always makes a yummy breakfast offering home made breads and pancakes coconut rolls and our famous healthy fruit salad bowl and freshly made granola. River Tubing is one of our most popular tours and I am glad you got to experience the adventure! Vinaka and look forward to seeing you again in the near future

I struggled a bit on whether to give 1-2 stars, but based on what was advertised, what we paid, and the other 4 places we stayed in Fiji, this was hands down the worst. It has a spectacular view and was probably amazing 5 years ago if Sharon is around. The dog is super nice and well behaved. (See later note on this). Also, the giant fruit bats are cool. And now the rest of the story. I generally agree with Cricket735 review and disagree with Naveria response to them. “Our windows, doors and decks are perfectly fine and are sanded, varnished and repaired on a regular basis” The decks are varnished and look nice, but there are rotten supports, loose railings, and railings coming apart from posts. Also, the doors do all technically work but several have issues. When we arrived the power was out and there was no water and no phone either. I understand it is not their fault that the power was out, but it had been out at least part of the day prior as well and they had no contingency plan when I asked. So hot and out of water we were forced to walk to town and back in the heat of the day to buy something to drink. We inquired about the tours and were told everything was in a black notebook in our room. We scoured our room, the house, the other vacant room and never found it. We did find a single sheet of paper with about 5 one line descriptions of activities in the kitchen. We asked if that was it and were told yes and given no further explanation of tours so we didn’t book any. Talking with another guest as we were leaving, the book was found and did contain a lot of useful info that would have been nice to know. The pool was green with algae and you could not see the bottom. Surprisingly other guests were using it. I often felt like I was intruding on the hostess who was generally lounging around the living room on her phone or TV. The final straw was in the middle of the night when the normally quiet dog started ferociously barking and didn’t stop. This dog doesn’t bark for no reason and was chained up right outside the front door. I couldn’t believe nobody was getting up so finally I dug out my flashlight and went out to see what was going on so we could get some sleep. Also on sleep, our bed was approaching the end of its useful life. Other notes, the hill really isn’t that bad to walk up if you are in average shape with decent footwear. We also walked to the gardens and Chocolate factory tour and both were excellent. We also stayed at Barefoot Kuata, Marriott, coconut grove, and coconut beach for comparison.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am very sorry that the Lodge did not meet your expectations. I have followed up on all your comments Occasionally, all of Savusavu will get a Planned Power Outage. It was unfortunate that you arrived during one of those times. We usually get notice of these outages and advise our guests accordingly by arranging a day out for those who have not yet already planned their day. The Lodge is a wooden structure, built in the jungle and like you say, has amazing views. Maintenance is always on going as is required in the tropics. Zeus, our German Sheppard, does patrol the premises at night and he will on times run or bark at other dogs that come on the property. I am very sorry he woke you up. Susan looks after the property in my absence and in touch with me daily. Again I am very sorry you did not find her helpful as I have had many positive comments on her kindness and abilities. The plunge pool is maintained daily by our gardener. I have to say that we try not to use too many chemicals and it's fed by pure rain water, which is stored in concrete tanks under the Lodge. Due to the power being out that day, the pump would not have been working. However I can't imagine it being green with Algae after one day of not being cleaned and circulated. Once again I am very sorry your time was not enjoyed at the Lodge. It is always our pleasure to help our guests have an a amazing experience as best we can by getting to know Savusavu and its wonderful adventures. Vinaka
