Overall I had a very nice stay at Koro Sun. The staff was amazing friendly. The grounds are well-kept. The activity options were ok (I chose rainforest hike and hardline fishing; I wished I'd done some kayaking in hindsight). The room was satisfactory. One of the highlights was the once-a-week buffet at the L17 restaurant .. get there early to get a seat though! And enjoy the performances by local folks. But.... I wasn't super impressed by the food. I had fish in coconut sauce that was pretty good, but I wasn't impressed with the chicken curry. And the restaurant had a ton of annoying flies. Maybe it was that time of year, I don't know. The WIFI was available in lobby only, and even then it wasn't great (but the lobby has great big couches that are pretty cool). I stayed in one of the garden bures... In hindsight I think I wish I'd splurged for a waterfront bure. Not sure.. I didn't see inside the waterfront ones,.. but the location sure looks cool.

What a wonderful, warm and welcoming resort and staff. Stayed in an edge water burre (bungalow) with direct access to the crystal clear sea for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking. Napped in the comfortable hammock on my sand covered patio and laid on the oversized day bed at night to watch the stars while listening to waves, what a tranquil setting. The resort staff were incredibly hospitable with the Fijian ‘personal’ touch, somehow they seem to know every guest by name. Received a refreshing cold coconut and a complimentary foot wash/massage upon check-in, what a unique and pleasant surprise for a weary traveler. The Rainforest Spa was truly magical (and very rainy indeed for me) where you relax to the soothing sound of a stream and the sound of rain during your massage. This resort seems to have something for everyone, whether you’re on your honeymoon, on a family vacation/reunion, like to be active (scuba diving, snorkeling, water sports, volleyball, ping pong) or a single traveler like myself. I highly recommend visiting this very special place!

We travelled to Koro Sun with our 10 yr old daughter mid January 2020 and would certainly recommend it. It's the perfect combination of stunning blue ocean and awe-inspiring rainforest. There is a feeling of being in the "real" Fiji and not in a built up resort. From the moment you arrive, you feel you are part of the community. The staff here are amazing - this is something I read in reviews before we travelled, but they by far exceeded my expectations. Everyone remembers you name as well as the little things, like putting extra chili in your omelette or how you take your coffee. In addition, the manager was very on-hand and ensured all the guests were up to date with cyclone bulletins when there was a warning for the island. We had to leave a bit early and didn't get a chance to thank all the staff for their amazing service, so a belated thank you to you all!

We loved our stay at Koro Sun Resort. I read through some of the other reviews and I think you have to keep in mind that you're traveling to an island....you aren't going to find all of the same comforts of a western resort and we were completely fine with that. Staff are exceptional, welcomed us with a song, hug, coconut and foot massage. Yes you do have to sit through a resort overview, sign some paperwork and then go to your room, this is not as tedious as others have mentioned and it means that you go over the rules and info once then get to explore and use the boat equipment without signing a waiver or deciding on a cost each time - we loved having this included in the resort cost - kayaks, stand up paddle boards & snorkel & fins all available whenever you wanted to grab from super friendly and helpful staff. We did not try the diving but a family from Australia mentioned it was great. We stayed in an over the water villa because we wanted a kitchen and fridge for snacks and the novelty of swimming off the back deck - this was awesome!! You can only swim at low tide but this wasn't as inconvenient as it's been at other resorts (there is still a little water at low tide). Room was tidy, beds comfortable and there was working hot water and A/C. We ended up shutting off the A/C above the bed because it did drip on the pillows, but all windows were screened so easy to leave open for the night. We tried the spa - awesome massages but do agree with privacy comments that it's a bit exposed to the next appointment showing up! The grounds are gorgeous if you need a break from the sun - we walked up to the waterfall and had a quick swim, there were lots of mini crayfish there - wild to see! My only negative comment is the food, I would not suggest a meal plan and I would suggest getting accom with a kitchen. The restaurant food was trying too hard to be western - risotto was just rice and peas, gnocchi was not very edible, baked beans and pancakes for breakfast each day, mud crab had great presentation but was overpriced and not cracked all the way (which as experienced lobster crackers we enjoyed as a challenge, but wouldn't recommend), wine and cocktails were all painfully average and very expensive. We had a couple beers here and there at the pool bar and at dinner but mostly drank from our duty free shop and did a saturday trip to the market (took our own taxi there did not do the tour) to get extras. We will definitely be back to Koro Sun, I've been joking that I'm willing to have kids now that I know I can go to Fiji and they get to have free kid camp while I read a book by the pool!!

We had booked Kora Sun for 3 nights. On the last night of our stay a cyclone hit. That was when I was most impressed by the service - rather than leave us to fend for ourselves, the staff at Kora sun kept in touch with the airport and kept us updated on flight status. They did move us in from one of the floating rooms to the garden rooms (which are not that nice). One thing I don't get is why so many high end hotels (or high end rooms) seem to not have private bathrooms? (ie) there is either no door, or the door is translucent glass and/or it does not lock!!! The floating rooms are lovely and you can keep a kayak (freely provided by the hotel) right at your balcony. You can also jump off from the room into the little bay. When the weather is good, you can snorkel right off the beach into the sea, and there are corals right there - some lovely blue fish, even blue starfish can be seen right there. There's also a diving shop based in the resort - they operate separately, but they take you snorkeling/ diving further out. Food is decent at the resort - pizzas which you can get at the Waibar near the pool are particularly good. The spa is really nice - situated deep in the rainforest near a small waterfall, the sound of water as you get your massage is very soothing. There are a couple of lovely lily ponds as well Wifi is only in the common area, but it is quite good.
