Great stay and even better staff. The resort is about a 15 minute drive from Savusavu airport. Great location that has two sides to the resort; the water villas/bungalows/bures and the suites. We stayed in the Edgewater Villa which we highly recommend. The staff really bestows that Fijian friendliness upon arrival through departure. The bure was clean and amazing for a two-story villa overlooking the ocean. These villas are close to the dive and activity centers. The staff posts the daily activities in the hotel lobby and updates them for the next day during dinner time. I recommend dining at least one at Latitude 17 which is their edgewater restaurant sprite with live entertainment. If going as a couple or couples, I highly recommend the candlelit dinner over the lotus pond and orchids garden. Amazing experience. Although every staff member was amazing, I do want to give a shout out to Kini, Ana (best server EVER!), Una, TimTam , and Andrew. They made our stay a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Tip- book the romance package and get that massage. Trust us, that it’s worth it.

Our stay was 5 star ! Resort was not fully booked so it was like having the place to ourselves. Staff was amazing and very welcoming. Only negative…. WiFi is not everywhere. No one had WiFi in their room… even though they advertise the WiFi “comes and goes like the tide”. ( I would have received a very important text during the night if I’d had WiFi in our room) The only WiFi is on the reception area.

Bula Sharon, Vinaka for your wonderful 5star review of your stay at beautiful Koro Sun Resort. It is great to read that you experienced our little piece of paradise and enjoyed the service of our fabulous staff. We are so sorry for the poor WiFi you experienced while at the property, it is definitely an area of frustration and one we are working on. The WiFi service lately has not been great, and we are equally annoyed. We look forward to welcoming you home to Koro Sun Resort some time again soon and when you return, we are confident that the communication towers will have been fixed, Vinaka vakalevu!

The entire resort is fantastic. We stayed in the Vesi villa and the Edgewater Bure. The Vesi villa is further up on the mountain which gives a great view of the ocean. Its also very spacious with beautiful Vesi hardwood interior and all the creature comforts of a home. Both locations and the resort were an amazing unforgettable experience. Its perfect for relaxing and doing nothing or doing just about anything you would expect in a tropical paradise. I highly recommend.

Our stay at Koro Sun was a dream vacation come true. We stayed in one of the Edge Water Villas and the unit was so amazing with mesmerizing ocean views. Waking up with the sunrise and watching the tide ebb and flow from our balcony was one of our favorite things. But it got better as we enjoyed watching the sunset and the amazing colors on the other side while getting ready for some amazing dinners. The food was incredible with some savory and tasteful dishes followed by delectable desserts. Breakfast was something I looked forward to every morning when waking up with the freshly brewed coffee and multiple options to choose from with the buffet and full menu. We visited the spa not just once but twice because the first time was so incredible. I can't wait to return again and lay back on the lounge chairs overlooking the water and soaking up some sun. The staff was so friendly and they all knew us by name as soon as we arrived. It felt like we were being hosted by family they took such good care of us. We can't wait to book again!

Our family enjoyed four days of much-needed rest and relaxation, after traveling in New Zealand for 3 weeks, at the Koro Sun. We stayed in the Floating Bures...and it was a unique, lovely experience. All the staff with whom we interacted were friendly, helpful, and genuinely humble. We enjoyed kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, hiking, tennis, and pickleball. There is also golf and diving, which we didn't try. There was local entertainment (a church choir, a quartet, and some native dancers) on three of the nights, which was a nice touch. The food was amazing...and plentiful! In fact, the portions were so generous that I asked for half-portions so as not to be wasting any. We were able to meet the owner and manager and enjoyed our conversations with them. Note that it is a small property without any sandy beach. Also, quick showers are necessary since each Bure's tank only holds 22 gallons of water and it takes 45 minutes to re-heat.

Soft bed and pillows, fluffy towels. No need to bring shampoo or conditioner or body wash, as it’s supplied. Good selection of menu options, including vegan, excellent meal presentation, delicious food. We SCUBA dived twice daily for seven days. Good attentive dive crew, fun dives. A few resort cats, which was nice, as I was missing my cats back home.

We have stayed at KoroSun resort many times over the past 20 years, the location is great and easy to get to, the service wonderful and the accommodations very comfortable. Overall, the food is outstanding. There is something for everyone, and dietary restrictions are accommodated. You could eat something different at every meal for a week! Despite the challenges of managing a resort in a remote tropical location, the staff manages to keep everything running smoothly. On prior trips with family they helped make our stay with our disabled adult child a really wonderful experience, amazing people here! This resort ticks all the boxes for a truly authentic Fijian experience, and they do it well consistently.

The last review of this resort is spot on. The response from the resort is condescending and unacceptable. "Emotionally stressed you to desperation"? That's hardly what the reviewer was saying. The property is stunning and a one of a kind experience. We stayed in an Edgewater Pool Bure room which was very clean and comfortable with gorgeous views and direct access to the ocean. The room comes with shampoo, conditioner and body wash and a hair dryer. There is a mini fridge and tea and coffee station as well. Only complaint about the room is that each room is only allotted a certain amount of hot water (understandable) and it cannot fill the beautiful bathtub in the room. I'd just remove the tub instead of getting guest's hopes up. The staff is wonderful. Kind, courteous, accommodating and friendly. I do NOT blame the staff for the rest of my review. From our perspective, there was some serious upper management issues going on and the staff (specifically F&B) did not have the tools they needed to do their job to the fullest. First of all, you have to decide what restaurant you are eating at AND what you want to eat for dinner before 10am. So you basically order dinner at breakfast which is extremely odd. Initially we assumed that this was because they got fresh deliveries and were trying to eliminate waste. This was not the case. The resort food is the caliber of a 2-star all-inclusive resort in Mexico. If that's where we were I would have just said "well that's what we get for the price we paid". Instead, they are charging 5-star prices for 2-star food. Their Seafood and Steak restaurant "Latitude 17" is a joke. It's located in a lovely rotunda over the ocean that is clearly made for sunset cocktail receptions and light apps, not a full dining experience. The worst meal we had was at this restaurant. A full crab (pictured) that was served with sauce on the outside of the shell (odd) and that was cooked to an unidentifiable pulp on the inside. I have no idea how one gets a crab to that state; microwave? At the same meal our filet mignon was served to us cold and the color of the seared Ahi told us it was not fresh. We live on the coast in CA and eat and cook with fresh seafood regularly. The alcohol options at dinner were all set out on an open table like you're attending a backyard BBQ. Very odd. Their continental breakfast was okay. We didn't feel like the juices were fresh which was a little strange. Coming to a place with such beautiful fruit, we expected more. One day the orange juice sign was missing and it tasted like they had added the canned peach juice from the breakfast the previous day to it. Speaking of fruit, we'd notice that they would save any extra and put it out the following day. Mushy watermelon doesn't hold up. There weren't a ton of options but it was overall solid for a continental. The Sandbar, their "fast food" restaurant is the best thing they have going. It's easy, no frills food but it's executed correctly, fresh and good. We happened to be getting a drink there one evening when a gentlemen at the bar turned around and introduced himself as the general manager. He shook my and my husband's hands and asked how our stay was going. We explained that the resort was beautiful, the staff was wonderful but that the food could use a little work. He immediately turned around and that was the end of the conversation. Having worked in hospitality for many years, both my husband and I know that that is an unacceptable way to treat a guest and it confirmed our thoughts about upper management having a hand in the issues we experienced. Note: The general manager was out there smoking cigars right around all the no smoking signs. I wouldn't normally care but it's just another example of the lack of care and professionalism going on. Their traditional Fiji night at the main restaurant was the best we had there. I'd give that meal 3-stars. Some dishes you can tell someone is TRYING, they just aren't experienced enough to execute it properly. It seems as if the chef got thrown in the fire without being trained. We ventured into town twice while there and were thrilled to have some delicious food there. Overall - come here if you don't care too much about the food or if you don't mind taking a taxi into town each night for dinner. The rest of your stay will be lovely and relaxing. Note: this is a very sleepy resort so expect to disconnect and slow down.

Response from Korosun Resort, General Manager at Koro Sun Resort
Responded Oct 23, 2023
Bula vinaka Ammie for taking time to write on TripAdvisor. Many thanks for your wonderful comments on your overall experience with us. We are sorry we could not meet your expectations with the food at two restaurant outlets. Your reference to the Sand bar is gratefully received. We have a pre-order program with both restaurants up to 1 p.m. for dinner orders. It's not totally about freshness; that is a significant factor. It is also about preparation, service, and the avoidance of waste. We can offer choices as our Palm Grove menu changes daily, and over 70 plate choices over seven days, collectively with lunch and dinner choices and excluding the Lovo; 120 different plates are offered throughout the resort. The personal reference to the general manager is not well-founded but taken on board. Yes, we enjoy wine and a cigarette (sorry, cigars, not). Usually, it is when the day is finished, and relaxation is called for, and we do our utmost not to be in the way of guests. We apologise if this offended you. The General Manager, you will find, has some say in the operation of the resort, and if you felt that your thoughts were not noted when introduced, you are incorrect. We take any guest issue seriously and discuss how best to rectify it so our guests can enjoy their stay with us. We unfortunately can't meet all expectations, but our team will go out of their way to help with any issues as per previous positive TripAdvisor reviews listed. Once again, we thank you for your positive comments and will endeavour to be aware of the issues you have brought to our attention.

The good: 1. The spa was perfect, Maria and Su are super gifted. We felt relaxed after our massage and their service was impeccable. 2. The front office staff were friendly, they understood that I was not a fan of high touch service and therefore ensured I was in my room within 10 minutes after arriving. The bad: 1. Their food and beverage is one of the worst I've seen in a resort. A resort is meant to be a relaxing place, not where we have to stress because we're supposed to place our dinner order by 6.30pm. Anything after that you're on your own. 2. The breakfast service was the worst! When we went in half the things had finished, no refills done. Servers walking around with tray looking busy but doing nothing, the breakfast stuff haven't been refilled, tables aren't getting cleared, they aren't taking orders or turning food from the kitchen. I had to ask a server to clear a table for us. The ceiling in the restaurant was leaking. I ordered the sausage, egg and hashbrown breakfast which I had to pay for, it came without sauce. When I asked the server she lazily told me to get it from the buffet to which I said "I am not paying to have to get up and get sauce, please bring it respectably as it should be" we also ordered eggs Benedict, the yolk was too runny, extremely runny, we didn't even have to use the knife. Asked another server to change, she looked offended. Anyways she took the eggs in and it came back well done. By this point I gave up. The cakes at the breakfast were burnt. Wedges not cooked properly. They have zero quality control on food and beverage! Like seriously this is a 4 star resort with a 3 star restaurant and food options. Even hot spring hotel which charged significantly less does better than them! The room was lovely, clean, well stocked. The resort has everything in place, several pools, several bars, beautiful beach, nice rooms but their staff don't know what they are doing. Their management need to change, because I don't blame the failure of this resort on the staff it's on the management. Clearly they don't care enough. $600 a night is a lot of money, when someone pays that much they want to stay in the resort, but we seriously had no reason to because the f&b was that bad. We found ourselves going into town and if we wanted to be in town we would have stayed at Hot Spring and paid only 180 per night. Koro Sun is a huge disappointment and I implore the management to do some soul searching or just quit!

Bula and greetings, AAbhishay Thank you for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor and vinaka for the Spa and office staff comments. Also, your reference to rooms is lovely, clean, and well-stocked. It is also true we have everything in place: several pools, bars, a beautiful beach, nice rooms, a fantastic team on the grounds, maintenance, collections, housekeeping, activities, and, yes, Food and Beverages… to serve you. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations with the breakfast and the F&B breakfast team; it seems we emotionally stressed you to desperation, and we apologize humbly. The breakfast service and restocking of the buffet have been addressed and will continually be revisited by our food and beverage team. We are in the process of refurbishing the roof in the restaurant and apologize as we have done with our guests about the leaks while this is in progress. Unfortunately, we were unable to do anything about the rain. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again so you can see a much-improved breakfast service. Once again, thank you from all of team Koro Sun.
