Staying at Jean Michel Cousteau Resort was so wonderful! We were greeted with singing and smiles allover. The dive shop is outstanding, and everyone that works there is knowledgeable and friendly. The diving is unparalleled, and the planned events and outings are fun and engaging. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and taken care of. Truly a blissful time. Plus, the included dining is SO GOOD. The drinks are awesome as well. Can't wait until we can return.

The most perfect experience of our entire experience across Fiji so far. We have travelled the world and can honestly say JMC blew us away - from their discreet yet intuitive service to their ability to ensure the resort is suitable for all travellers without being disruptive to the next, JMC have mastered the art of service - a game changer for the global hotel market. Thank you JMC for having us! We will definitely be back.

Our family of 5 visited Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort in June, it was our fist trip away since covid and we couldn't wait. From the moment we arrived till the time we left we felt like part of the family. An amazing resort which had AMAZING staff and made us feel right at home. From all the guys in the dive shop (Kini, Takala, Leo, George, Bo, Sonny and Bait) who helped our eldest son and husband get their dive certificates, and looked after us on our trip to Namena and who on the way back set up a make shift bed so my youngest could have a snooze, you guys are one of a kind! To the awesome buddies at kids club (Sete, Net, Renny and Duey), Kitty at the front desk, Gabby behind the bar, Mela in the restaurant, the amazing ladies at the masage bure, Mika in activities, you all are so amazing and you make this Resort what it is. A truly breathtaking location. Plus the opportunity to meet Jean-Michel and Nancy was a highlight for all of us. Our trip was a fantastic holiday for our family that we can't wait to come back again in June 2023 and make this our annual holiday destination. Vinaka Vaka Levu Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort, see you all again soon!

We’ve just returned from 6 nights at Jean-Michel Cousteau and I could not fault our experience from airport pick up to drop off. I’m generally someone where even as amazing as a holiday destination may be, I’m always keen to try somewhere new and different for my next holiday. However this holiday may just have changed me, as we will be back! And next time it will be for at least 8 nights! While the cost of staying here may be higher than other resorts when you factor in all the extras like amazing meals, activities, a nanny for up to 12 hours a day and kids club it is actually really good value for money. Traveling with our 7 year old daughter and 8 month old son we were able to experience the best of both worlds - both an amazing family holiday spending time together as a family while also being able to spend time with just the two of us sailing, snorkeling, lying by the pool drinking cocktails, couples spa treatments (highly recommend the massages) and enjoying three course meals for lunch and dinner! Our sons’ nanny Lottie (Charlotte) was just amazing with him - it was so lovely to see the big smiles he would give her when she went to pick him up and she gave us a welcome break from the mundane day to day activities like meal times, showering, sitting at the bure while he napped. Our daughter had so much fun enjoying the activities and pool at the Bula Club with her buddy Frances and the other buddies and kids - we literally had to drag her away to spend time with us. The School Under the Sea program was just awesome - she learnt so much about the environment from the on-site marine biologist, Ofa. The accommodation was great - I would highly recommend an oceanfront bure for the amazing views across Savusavu Bay as you sit on your deck. Even though the bures were not air conditioned the fans and breeze kept the bures cool and the heat was never an issue. Housekeeping kept the bures so clean and when our daughter was sick one evening they were there in an instant to change the sheets and help tidy up and the next morning gave our bure a deep clean. Each and every staff member always had a huge smile on their face and were all so friendly and helpful. Fiji is generally not somewhere where you go to with high expectations of the food but the meals here far exceeded my expectations. Plenty of breakfast options and creative and tasty three course lunches and dinners (with two entree options and three options for mains and desserts) that provided plenty of food but didn’t leave you feeling like you’d overeaten. There was also an all day menu which offered standard resort fare like burgers and fries and fish and chips. The kids meals that were offered were nutritious and not your usual resort offering where the food is fried and comes with fries. They were also happy to accommodate purées for my baby. My daughter had tears in her eyes as we drove to the airport for our return flight (to be honest I think we all did) and she even rated this holiday better than Disneyland! We will definitely be back!

I've been to Fiji five times now but my most recent visit to Jean-Michel Cousteau has set a completely new benchmark. If you've ever heard of Goldeneye in Jamaica, it's about as close an approximation as I can make. Brilliant service, food, accommodation and attention to detail but delivered in a way that makes it feel as if you're at home (albeit an exquisite one). Fiji's renowned for warm welcomes but this was on another level altogether. I can't recommend J-MC highly enough. You won't regret it.

This was our 3rd visit to JMC. We booked it in October 2019 and stuck with it through all the Covid restrictions, knowing how good our previous experience was. Well for our first overseas trip in 2 years, it was well worth the wait! From the initial welcome by all the singing and dancing staff, to our sad farewell after 11 days, every day was a fantastic. We had a garden view bure, which was spacious, well appointed and comfortable, just a short walk from the beach. Every meal was a highlight, with delicious food and attentive service. During the day, we always had a choice between relaxing in a cabana by the pool, or irrestisitibly, enjoying one or more of several enticing activities. Guided snorkeling was offered every day and on Wednesday night. Yoga was offered every day, including a couple of times on the private island. We had excursions to the farmers' market, local village, mangrove island, mountain hike, waterfall rainforest; and even a rubbish collection hour on the main road (compared to back home, surprisingly difficult to find much litter, but a great opportunity to get to know some of the staff). We had an afternoon to ourselves on the private island, where we were dropped off and left with a gourmet luncheon selection to enjoy in our dining table and cabana, afterwards relaxing with a snorkel or just lying on the hammock. Our foot massage on arrival was a very nice touch. We also had wonderful treatments at the spa. I don't swim, so I was particularly grateful to the boat crew, but especially Vuli, who looked after me in the water. The Bula Boys band were fun to listen to and share kava with each evening. The local village choir put on a great floor show for all. I know there will be a 4th visit - of all the beautiful places we've visited, JMC and Fiji are firm favourites.

We had the pleasure of staying here for a short 3 night stay, but we sure did fit a huge amount in whilst we were here!!! We were blown away by the friendly staff and how much care they showed to all of the guests. The kids club was amazing, although we don't have any children ourselves we really did appreciate what an amazing time they all had. The parents could just hand them over and they would have a ball with all of the adventures the staff included them in. From glass bottom boat trips, to snorkelling tours, to kayaking, it was all catered for in a safe and friendly way. We were so lucky to stay in the Presidential Villa - if it's good enough for some massive celebrities then hey, we felt like super stars! It was HUGE, and the outdoor waterfall and indoor spa were simply stunning. The infinity edge pool was a huge bonus and with 4 shower areas to sue we were spoilt for choice, the outdoor one was amazing with views that took your breath away! We were amazed by the trips on offer here, and some of them that we did were ... A private island breakfast - this is not to be missed, you literally have the whole island to yourselves, so wonderful! We went on a waterfall hike, this was stunning too! We also had the amazing experience of going to a local village to see their way of life and we were welcomed by such wonderful people it was very moving. There was even a show put on for us all at the resort, local singing and dancing which was awesome! The food was really great quality and we loved everything we ate and drank! What a special place to stay, we will be back for sure and thank you to all the team for making it a very special time for us!

Okay, this is long, but I want to remind myself of this experience too. My children and I had not been united with my mother and sister since before COVID. Our reunion took place at Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort in Savusavu, Fiji. We ran between the resort staff singing their welcome song and into the arms of my family, who arrived before we did. My young-ish son’s first words to my sister was, “Hey, you’re the lady from the phone.” When we were first reunited things were happy but a little unfamiliar. When you are 10 or 7, not seeing someone for nearly three years is a long time. The kids had changed an enormous amount. By the time we left Jean-Michel Cousteau we had reestablished the deepest of bonds and my children had true connections with their aunt and grandmother and I am sure will retain many happy memories of an exceptional stay. Upon arrival, we were immediately offered for my two children to join the Bula Club child care/supervised child activity centre, which includes two (maybe three?) pools, slides, activities, meals, all sorts. Other reviews go into the Bula Club in more details. It was awesome, professional, confidence-inspiring, fun, well-designed. We said, no thanks. We hadn’t been together in so long I wanted us together and my children had spent a lot of time alone during covid. They had far too much time at home with just each other for company and they were hesitant to play with others and freely frolic with new faces. It might be that I was the hesitant one. By the last day of our stay they wanted to go to Bula Club as soon as they woke up and were off playing almost all day. They made fast friends and it filled my heart with joy to hear other kids call their names, wanting to play with my children. While at first I felt I must include the kids with the adults as much as possible, we were actually grateful for the adults to have time to talk and catchup on things less suitable for kids. I was surprised how much we had not said over Zoom or FaceTime which came out when we were finally in person again. We could also partake in activities not so suitable for children. I love to snorkel and while we did a wonderful family snorkel, I preferred the ones my sister and I took on our own —we swam for longer and saw more and could swim at our pace, not that of a child. Seeing my mother standup (read sit-down) paddle board and my daughter standup paddle board beside her was a highlight. Three generations paddle boarding together is something I would never thought I would witness. It was fabulous. We had a bunch of short boat trips together. The kayak adventure I went on with just my daughter was a personal highlight too. The kids were able to move between my bure (guesthouse) and the one for my mum and sister, seamlessly, alternating nights in one, then the other. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, knowledgable and encouraging. Another highlight was making a traditional Fijian men’s basket out of a palm frond. I’m not sure why I enjoyed that as much as I did, but something about it really connected with me. The venue is faultless. It looks beautiful, the grounds are immaculate, the attention to detail is impressive. Our bure was is right on the ocean. They are really well built and really well finished. The fridge was re-stocked daily with soft drinks and cold water. I could hear the waves in bed as I went to sleep. The pools are awesome, the nearby coral and marine life are wonderful, the pier, the yoga workouts, the diet cokes whenever you wanted one, all suited us perfectly. I didn’t use the spa but the girls had a treat day and said it was excellent. I did get a welcoming foot soak and leg massage upon arrival. That was really nice and helped us settle into the change of pace and scene immediately. I am not much of a foodie. My sister does go to fancy restaurants and we all agreed that some of the meals and desserts were among the best we have ever had. Every meal was an event. It massively expanded my children’s culinary knowledge when they ate with us and not at the Bula Club. There were flavour combinations I would not have thought to put together, but, man, did they work —e.g.: the perfect NZ steak served with an olive dish. Wow. That really worked. I want that again right now. So too the perfectly seared tuna on a kind of thin hummus. That was probably the best meal I have ever had. I loved it and I would never have put those combinations together. We shared from each others plate at every meal and we deliberately ordered different things to be sure we tried more of the menu. Each day the menu was different. The food was so far beyond my expectations, I don’t know how to describe it and do it justice. Three courses for lunch and also for dinner. The serve sizes are just right so that despite having your fill at lunch you are actually hungry at dinner time. They were active days, for sure. In short: We had the best holiday we have ever had. We had the best reunion we have ever had (we each live in different countries). We had time and space together and time and space apart. We discussed visiting the resort together again, whenever practical. I will do what I can to make that happen. I have spent a lot of time in Fiji and I have stayed in quite a few hotels around the country. Jean-Michel Cousteau is easily the best venue, best service, easily the best kids club and its kitchen probably rivals the best restaurants in Fiji, to my experience. I have not been to a restaurant in Fiji with that range of dishes with so many flavour combinations from so many countries varying over the course of our stay. It was all very impressive and yet very comfortable. This was easily a 5-star experience.

Just returned to LA after a truly wonderful family holiday at the Cousteau Resort. We were three generations and there were so many activities for each of us to enjoy. While my children and grandchildren swam, snorkeled, paddle boarded, kayaked and a host of other amazing activities, I was able to relax by the pool with a good book, walk along the pristine beach and be pampered at the spa. When I did feel adventurous enough to try an activity myself, the staff were incredibly patient and encouraging. The food is outstanding. Three, three-course delicious and nutritious meals a day and I didn't gain a single pound! Lastly, but by no means least, the Bula Club for kids is a unique and incredible resource for children and their parents. There are two separate activities programs for 0-6 year olds and 6-12s from 8.30am-9pm. Teens 13+ have an activity buddy from 8.30am-6pm. Every day. I've never seen such happy children and parents. My family will be returning next year. Congratulations and Vinaka Vakalevu to Cousteau Resort for nailing the family holiday experience and giving my family our best vacation.

My family and I are traveling back from a wonderful experience at the Cousteau Resort. I could not have asked for a better experience. Everything - accommodation, food, activities, location - far exceeded our expectations. But, the best part of the experience was the people. The staff at the resort, from the front desk to the spa, kitchen, dining, cleaning, grounds, activities, and kids club, are incredibly welcoming, kind and hospitable. Solo, Bait, Kitty, Silo, Gabi, Julie - the list goes on and on - make the experience at the Cousteau soar. If you are interested in an experience that will be a treasured memory woven into the fabric of your family for many years hence, look no further. My family and I are incredibly grateful to the staff at the Cousteau for a perfect holiday. We will not soon forget their kindness and hospitality.
