A beautiful somewhat remote resort poised on the rocky shoreline of south Taveuni Island, Fiji, an hour and a half flight from Nadi, Fiji. Taveuni is the "Garden Island" of Fiji, and is green and covered in tropical jungle. This resort is extremely well kept, green lawns stretching to the low rocky cliffs overlooking the ocean. Palm trees, flowering plants, carefully kept gardens, an infinity pool and lounges and cabanas along the oceanfront. The Bures, or "cabins" are large, many feature private outdoor showers and baths, air conditioning, large living spaces and large outdoor private patios. The food is very good and the bar is well stocked. Snorkeling and diving tours to the famous "White Wall" are available every day directly from the resort. The staff are all Fijian and very friendly and helpful and often entertain guests. Special dinners are served some nights including a Fijian night with food singing and dancing and the Kava ceremony. We highly recommend it as a unique and beautiful place.

My daughter is a keen scuba diver and, in searching for dive opportunities in Fiji, came across Paradise.
We were 3 generations travelling, with my daughter, granddaughter and me. Flight in a small plane is needed to get to Taveuni and it offers fabulous views and insight out the window as to what awaits.
At Paradise we stayed in a Family Bure which had 2 rooms and an inside bathroom as well as an outdoor shower. The rooms were air conditioned and had louvred windows with insect netting. There was a bar fridge with a kettle and cups and glasses available. And I won’t forget the home made cookies provided daily which were yum!
Talking about food, the restaurant is run differently to anywhere I have been before, which I think was really well done. Each morning at breakfast you are given the menus for lunch and dinner to pre-order. The menu had an excellent range on offer, even for my fussy family, and we were never disappointed. Each day was themed. We often found ourselves sharing a table with others for meals, and met people from all over the world.
I think this way of running the restaurant would also save on a lot of wastage but any leftovers were used to feed the animals at the resorts farm over the road.
The diving lived up to expectations and my daughter dived often, with the boat leaving early morning and returning by lunchtime. Snorkelling was really good right out the front as well.
If you’re looking for a sandy beach holiday this isn’t the place for you as there isn’t one at Paradise. But there were a lot of activities and tours to do. Including visiting the local village which we loved. The pool is right on the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea and was well used by us.
It really felt much friendlier than any resort I’d ever stayed at before. We were sad to leave and I’d love to go back one day.

We were after somewhere not too far from our own country for a diving holiday. The dive travel agent gave us a choice of 3 places in Fiji, and luckily we decided on this one. A long flight, a short flight, and a bumpy car trip later and we had arrived. From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing: always attentive, very helpful and always positive and enthusiastic, with a sense of humour. From the compulsory arrival foot massage to the staff singing "Isa Lei" to the departees each time someone leaves, there is a feeling of being part of the place. The room was clean and well appointed, beds were comfortable, the outside shower was beautiful and my only problem was that the flimy white curtains didn't block out the lights on the pathway at night so was difficult to sleep until we fixed this by hanging sarongs over the curtain rail. The diving is well organised, safe, and the dive staff will look after the gear transport and setup if that is what you want. We were transported on both of the dive boats at different times, mostly to parts of the Rainbow Reef. There are two morning dives, followed by a third if you wish, or a shore dive on the beautiful house reef if you prefer: this was better than a couple of the boat dives we did, but as they say it is all about being at the right place and the right current for the coral to open up, and you can't always predict what the current will do. My partner did a night dive and it was one of the highlights for him. On our no-dive day we went on the Waterfall trip, involving a natural rock water slide (heaps of fun and I still have a sore butt) and a waterfall where we swam. We stood on the international date line for the obligatory photo, and had an organic ice cream on the way home. Not a bad option at all when you can't dive.

I often find that when going back to places after a great experience, second time around is not as good. That was not the case here and with 7 years between visits, my second visit was just as good as the first. This is a resort for divers, in fact all of Taveuni probably is as there is not a lot to do on land. If you are not a diver, stick to the bigger Fiji islands. Diving was mainly on the spectacular Rainbow Reef, each day the dive guides choose the site based on the weather, sea conditions and the tide. Over 5 days of diving, most had an element of gentle drift diving, with no fierce currents to worry about. 18-20 metre visibility on every dive. We only dived one site twice, sand that was the world famous white wall, so all divers were happy with that. On land, the food and service is excellent, rooms of a high standard, and the staff are great. From your arrival to departure, all the staff you interact with know your name without fail. A highlight was Fiji night, which involved meats cooked in the traditional way in an earth oven, kava ceremony, singing and dancing with the staff. It felt like a group of friends having a party and we had been invited along. I will go back again, hopefully not another 7 years before my next visit.

Wonderful 5 night stay on the garden island of Taveuni. This small resort goes above and beyond to welcome you to their slice of paradise. Knowing your name upon arrival to remembering your preferences, the entire staff was fabulous. The food was fresh and delicious, most fruits and vegetables are from their own farm attached to the resort (you can go on a tour too!) and had a good variety of choices. Lots of seating areas overlooking the ocean and around the pool to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our 2 bedroom ocean view worked great for 3 adults and the outside shower was amazing. The dive shop has a great team and were so accommodating to everyone!

We are snorkelers, not divers, and we weren't sure we would be able to see well from the surface. But I largely snorkeled the house reef twice a day, and it was super satisfying. There were also boat trips out to the rainbow reef which were also excellent for snorkeling. The accommodations and the staff were superb, the food was plentiful and delicious. There is a large staff with capacity to organize a variety of activities to satisfy -- bird-watching, hiking, getting into to town to shop for souvenirs. We even had some elderly persons with us who mostly hung out and relaxed in the pool. Regardless of athletic and diving ability, I would recommend this destination to anyone.

Awesome resort. If you are a SCUBA diver and want to dive the South Pacific on pristine reefs with tons of fish, then this is the place for you. The room, burre, was great with patio and outdoor shower. The grounds are small but oceanfront and gorgeous. The employees really believe in service, attending to all your needs and enjoy getting to know you. There are 2 dive boats and a legit dive shop on the premises. Best of all the diving is truly unique with beautiful hard corals, soft corals, and loads of fish. I also had a problem with my itinerary that was creating a problem in not completing part of my trip that included a shark dive. Miscommunication between my booking agent and the shark dive operator. The Paradise Taveuni hotel owner, Terri Gortan, stepped in and bailed me out by changing my stay and flights and hotel on the other island so I could make it. Going beyond expectations is what they live here.

I spent a week in Paradise for diving vacation. Overall i visited 4 resorts during my Fiji vacation and looking back i had the best experience at Paradise mostly because of the family atmoshere and the tireless staff. There is always room for improvement in materialistic things like food (which is very good overall) or diving (which is great, probably some room for improvement in the equipment and grouping strong divers together to more difficult dive sites) but the people are top. Found the welcome and farewells very cute and touching, the cookies left in the fridge every day also a cute touch. Everyone did an excellent job if i had to pick the top i would say from DMs is AP and from staff Eta "the little boss"....I will miss the daily smiles and jokes from the staff. Isa Lei.

To sum up how amazing Paradise Taveuni is in one review is a difficult task. From the time you arrive at the resort it really feels like paradise - the staff provides a very warm welcome along with a foot massage that is the perfect way to start your stay.
We first visited in January 2019 as part of a large dive group and were able to get back in September 2022. We met so many wonderful people from literally around the world (Fiji, USA, New Zealand, Australia, England, Austria, France) so word of this hidden gem is getting out. It is a place my wife and I hope to visit many more times in the future.
Rainbow Reef is the prettiest place we’ve dove in our 16 years of diving, which includes trips to various places including Belize, Mexico, & Hawaii. The healthy, colorful reefs with hard & soft corals and amazing marine life is like no other place. If you decide not to boat dive and just dive/snorkel Paradise’s house reef, then you’re in for a treat! My only regret this past trip is not diving it more.
One of the great things about Paradise Taveuni is that it is more than a dive resort. Even if you don't dive, this resort is for you. The resort has a beautiful pool and many other activities including snorkeling, fishing, hikes to waterfalls, and village tours. Another great thing about Paradise is the food! No buffet lines here. You get to pick from various options and they even have great vegetarian & vegan options. The staff at Paradise is some of the best we have ever encountered.
If you decide to go, here are a few tips. Definitely research the seasons in Fiji that are reversed from the USA. Also, if you’re a diver, go when the tides are right to experience the Great White Wall, which is beautiful!

First of all, I am a novice diver that hadn’t dove in 10+ years. We were invited on a trip with friends that dive and decided to go, and are we ever glad we did! I took a refresher with Christina and with her guidance was able to thoroughly enjoy my dives in some of the most beautiful reefs I’ve ever seen. Because of her I have never been more relaxed and enjoyed diving more, it’s an experience I will never forget. The dive operation is first rate, highly skilled boat captain (Mike) and guides and crew are top notch. George has done a great job with the dive shop, and it was great to see interns there learning the dive trade. On 3 tank dive days the beach for lunch is literally out of a postcard. The snorkelers in the group were happy as well exploring the shallow reefs. Even if you don’t dive, this resort is absolutely paradise.
The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained and has stunning views. Alan and his wife have rebuilt the resort after a devastating cyclone in 2016, and it is first class. All of the staff go out of their way to make your time there memorable. Flo, Ana, Tony, Soni are just a few of hard working individuals who make the resort area run smoothly. I know I’ve forgotten many people and I apologize for not naming them all. The food was always prepared and presented nicely, we never went away hungry. We hated to leave and the opportunity to experience Fiji on a small island, the people, their kindness was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Hope we can return to do this again! Vinaka!
