Oonas dive Center and hotel is the perfect stay for anybody coming to Sharm El Sheikh in search of the wonderful underwater marine life. The staff at the reception, onsite bar and restaurant, and dive centre have been amazing, nothing is too much and they always take time to speak to you about your day. My room was fantastic, kept very clean and tidy, with a beautiful view from my window. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all my meals at Oonas and aboard Obi-Wan, something I’ll surely miss once in the UK.
The diving on the Red Sea is unbelievable! There were many animals I wanted to see and some I never even thought I’d have the chance to so early in my diving career. I arrived at Oonas as a slightly nervous open water diver with only 4 dives…today, I’m leaving as an advanced open water diver with 26 dives thanks to the witty Pete Bruce, Hass and Hanneke as dive guides. Special thank yous do have to go to Pete for doing my reactivate and my AOW, your sarcasm and teaching methods have really made my trip. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor to encourage and support my next steps. Thank you to Karen and Anita for sorting everything to do with my stay before I arrived in Egypt, the communications side has been flawless and every bit of information was passed across.
To all my dive buddies…I’ve learnt lots of invaluable advice from you all, gained some great snaps too! Beer O’clock will be my favourite tradition.
It’s hard to list all of the great things about my first solo diving trip without making this an essay, but I’ve found a wonderful family at Oonas and met some truly special people along the way. One thing I know for sure, I’ll be missing my morning read in the hammock found in the secret garden at the back of the hotel. I look forward to returning, so it’s only goodbye for now…

This is a very special place especially for divers, the hotel itself is situated in a nice quiet location with direct beach access and the rooms have balconies overlooking the beach out to the sea. Rooms are basic but nice with everything that you need TV and cable, mini fridge, kettle, bathroom with hot water, not fancy but clean and comfortable. The bar/ restaurant on the ground floor does great food with great prices and large portion sizes. All the staff were very friendly and professional. You can choose to sit outside where you can enjoy a drink and watch the world go by. Breakfast was included in the morning which was delicious. Ahmed at reception was friendly and very helpful.
The diving center is simply the best I had the pleasure of meeting Karen and Pete on my first trip to Sharm El Sheikh and have found them to be very professional everyone is so friendly and helpful the instructors are all wonderful with a special mention to Pete who had to put up with me. If you are renting their equipment you are sure they are very well taken care of and all COVID requirements are implemented. My day out on the boat diving was amazing the boat crew were awesome and lunch was delicious and plenty of it. Right from the start planning my trip Karen kept in touch with me making it a stress free holiday.

Visited in May 2021 with a friend for a PADI Open Water Course and a few extra dives. Staff are amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. Our instructors (Pete and Magdy) are some of the best teachers I’ve ever had the pleasure to learn from. Instruction was tailored, easy to follow, and they made me feel completely comfortable breathing and moving underwater! The location is super convenient to solid diving and boat trips to local dive spots are otherworldly. Ahmed at the front desk goes above and beyond to accommodate. Food at the restaurant is a tasty and cost effective way to nourish your body before or after a day of diving. The prices at the bar are some of the best in Egypt and it is a great place to chill and meet fellow divers. Karen, the manager, makes it all work and ensures top quality for the customer. After four days of diving the community feels like family and I am already planning a return.

My experience at Oonas was incredible. I would especially recommend Oonas to any solo traveller, as I myself went solo but never felt alone. Everyone was very friendly and after each day of diving there would be "beer o'clock" at the hotel restaurant, where many divers and the instructors would chill and chat into the evening. The fact that so many guests there were regulars speaks volumes.
Karen was amazing at organising everything and customising my diving package. I initially only went to do my Open Water but I enjoyed it so much, I went straight into my Advanced Open Water and Nitrox which was facilitated with no issues on only a day's notice. I did all of my diving with Pete who was such a great teacher. Pete was patient, extremely experienced and very fun to learn with, and I never once felt like the diving was unsafe. We also did the confined water dives in Oonas' house reef instead of in a swimming pool which I noticed some other dive clubs do. This was amazing as I got to see so much marine life whilst training, including seeing a green sea turtle up-close resting on coral which was my favourite sighting throughout my trip.
Outside of diving, the hotel is great. The rooms have air-conditioning, balcony views and there is also a beach right on the doorstep. I found the location to be good as it was in a quieter location at the end of the bay, meaning less noise from people and also music that other places in Naama bay play late into the night. However, it was still only about a 15 minute walk to the main strip of Naama bay should you want to go exploring or go eat at any of the restaurants there, which I did a few times with other guests I'd met during my stay.
Overall I'm really glad I went with Oonas. There is a great family vibe amongst everyone there and I will definitely be going back in the future.

This hotel is perfect for us - we dive and there is a great dive club on site. Everyone is so friendly and helpful from the instructors/guides to the boat crew and restaurant staff.
The rooms have balconies overlooking the beach with en-suite shower room and air conditioning
The bar/ restaurant on the ground floor does nice food and there is an outside terrace where you can enjoy a drink and watch the world go by. At the north end of Naama Bay so quieter and within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops

Tucked away behind a 10 minute walk to naama Bay, if you're looking for a luxury hotel, this isn't it. What this hotel does offer, however, is a great location, particularly around the end of the year where the weather is conducive enough for walking around and exploring.
The staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Food in the restaurant is not great but I wouldn't let that put you off as there are plenty of places to eat around the area within walking distance.
We stayed in the family room which was very spacious (2 bedrooms) but massively outdated and in need of renovation. There are fantastic guides at this hotel to also assist you on diving, which is what the hotel is most commonly known for.
The private beach to this hotel was also very clean and secluded with just a stones throw away from any other beach-type activities (paragliding, snorkeling, paddle boats etc).
We stayed at an all inclusive recently and this hotel based on its cleanliness, location and customer service far surpasses that.

We just squeezed in a boys diving trip before the world shut down and happily we picked a winner destination. One of the friendliest places I've stayed, nothing too much trouble and felt very welcome. Rooms are clean and pleasant, nothing fancy, with great views, nice bar and restaurant. Dive centre was awesome - five of us had some of the best dives with everything looked after. Lovely boat, efficient systems and Pete was the most fun and accommodating guide. We'll be back as soon as the panic is over.

Can’t say enough positive about this great operation. The staff of the dive shop, hotel and restaurant were super friendly, and totally dedicated to helping their clients.
The dive operation in particular was outstanding! Great management and superb dive masters. I am an older diver, and appreciated the extra effort the crew made to ensure my comfort and safety.
I don’t need to say anything about the driving itself. It was as advertised — the healthiest reefs I’ve seen since I started diving 30 years ago.
Diving aside, Ahmed and his hotel crew bent over backwards to help out at every turn. The rooms were basic but got the job done: clean, cool and mostly quiet.
The restaurant was a bit basic, but the hotel is just a short walk from some really good dining options.
An all-around great experience. Saving my pennies for a return visit!

I'm a new diver and I completed my refferal, advanced diving and nitrox course with OOnas. It was the best experience I've ever had. Karen and Pete are so friendly and made me feel very welcomed. Very experienced instructors - thank you Pete and Dimitri for the patience and dedication you put in while teaching me. 20 ut of 10. I will definitelly come back and I want to say that you are the people in who's hands I trust to leave my daughter's diving course.
The clean and cool fully airconditioned hotel room is all you need to relax after a day full of diving adventures. Thank you Ahmed for everything you've done to make our staying very comfortable. 10 out of 10.
Excellent food and service on all levels.
I'm so looking forward to see you all soon!

I went here straight from the airport for a quick dive after seeing rave reviews online. I was booked to stay in dahab the same night onwards so didn't stay with them but Karen was super accommodating with keeping my luggage during the dive as well as when I went out to get some lunch. She also helped me charge my phone as I misplaced my charger. I contacted her the previous day and at very short notice she arranged a refresher theory, intro dive plus one fun dive just for around 100 USD at their house reef. My dive instructor Nick was very friendly, calm and composed. I felt extremely safe around him. In all honesty I was pretty surprised at the variety of marine life I witnessed, I wasn't expecting it. He gave me great tips and showed me later the names of the sealife we saw underwater. I literally had zero complaints with them. Super accommodating, friendly and professional with very competitive rates for a place like Sharm. Both of them had experience for over around 20 years and it just shows in their calm deamenour. Although I didn't stay with them I can only imagine what a pleasant experience it would've been. Can't rate them highly enough. 5 stars without a doubt.
