The Grand Rotana Resort & Spa earns high marks from guests for its spacious, clean rooms with breathtaking sea views, with many recommending room upgrades for closer proximity to the ocean. While the service is generally celebrated for its attentiveness and professionalism, a few guests have encountered inconsistencies and language barriers. Though opinions on value are mixed due to food quality and unexpected costs, the hotel's atmosphere is frequently described as welcoming, with an entertaining vibe. The cleanliness of the resort and its amenities, including the pools and beach access, consistently receive praise, as does its desirable location.

The staff members are very friendly and hospitable. The kids area is a great place for kids and a safe environment where they can play and have fun. Marina in the kids club was very experienced with the kids and they loved going into the turtle house. She also helped them color beautiful paintings which was a great memory of our trip. Food was delicious and various. The chefs were very friendly and accommodated our needs regarding my children’s food allergy. Overall experience was great. I higly recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our time here. The staff went out of their way to be friendly, fun and helpful. We stayed as a family with the all inclusive package. The kids club staff were excellent with our six year old and she was asking to attend each day.

There was one time that one of the public bathrooms near the pool wasn’t cleaned overnight but I mentioned it to staff and they corrected it. We enjoyed the food- it was better than most of the resort buffets we’d had, and the chefs would also cook us individual dishes if requested.

If staying definitely would request anti-mosquito plug-ins from reception as we were by the sea and mosquitos can be an issue in Egypt.

Overall we had a lot of fun and met some very nice people.

Grand Rotana is one of the hotels in Sharm, which maintains the same level of service in years. Nice big green territory, perfect location overlooking Tiran Island, not so windy in winter time as it's behind the coast. Home coral reef is amazing, just the main restaurant needs to be managed a bit better, the turnover is high - so, it would be prefect to have a tables cleaned quicker and more attentive, as well as less noise of collecting dirty dishes and cutleries from the tables. Otherwise it was just a great vacation, cleaning staff was very professional and laundry finished the job in few hours, which was just excellent. Thanks a lot!

My wife and I stayed here for a day and a half from December 22nd - December 24th. First of all, I’d like to start by saying that this resort does justice to the name. It is grand, majestic and hard to believe honestly that it’s just a beach resort. Full marks to the amenities on the property including dining options, accommodation choices and pretty much everything you’d expect in a five star property.

The service at all the restaurants, poolside and beach activities was good and pretty much what you would expect.

The reception staff were honestly the worst I’ve come across. We had the most disinterested, indifferent and clueless people on desk for the check in and check out experience. They greet you with the attitude of someone who’s been obligated to stand there and engage in a monosyllabic conversation so they can hush you away as soon as possible.
1. We had explicitly asked for a king bed but ended up getting a twin bed.
2. We were standing there with chairs and a sofa staring at us but the staff couldn’t care less to offer a seat and help us with everything that’s important for guests to know about a property they’ve just entered a few minutes ago as part of a check in experience
3. We had to ask them what restaurants were on offer but they just showed us a map of the property and left us to go on a treasure hunt. Case in point : We explicitly asked after if we needed to get a reservation at one of the restaurants that interested us but they said it wasn’t required and when we land up at the restaurant a couple of hours later, after freshening up, we were reminded that the restaurant takes reservations for evenings!
4. This property has the weirdest counter next to reception which is for booking a taxi. What’s extremely surprising is that these guys and the reception staff do not see eye to eye. Eg : We reached the reception to check in and this counter has someone who stops us and asks us to pay for the airport pick up. He didn’t let us go to the reception desk till we paid for the airport pick up. I’m not running away with your money my friend :) I’m checking in to your property after a long, tiring flight.. The reception staff didn’t bother either which I guess after these 1.5 days is hardly surprising.
5. The check out experience trumped the check in experience. We literally gave our key cards, signed the excess chargers billed to our room and the reception staff looks at us and says ‘Okay, you can leave now’ - How this is rated 5 stars baffles me.

If the property and management wants to do justice to the staff at the beach, the poolside, the restaurants or even the warm and kind housekeeping staff, they ought to really evaluate the operational and professional standards that the first point of connect I.e the reception staff need to maintain.

We rested in this hotel from 16 to 26.11. everything was wonderful, the weather was 26-31 degrees, the sea was 26-27 degrees. a wonderful reef, a lot of fish, the beach is long, there are pontoons entering the sea (several of them), and there is also a sandy beach for children. The hotel is huge, there are many buildings. has a large, beautiful and well-groomed area, several levels, several swimming pools, some heated. The rooms are cleaned every day, slippers, terry robes, 3 types of towels, soap, shampoos are provided. A large beach towel is provided on the beach. There are several restaurants besides the main one, one on the beach. the bars are open until sunset, there is good beer and wine, we liked the white, cocktails, ice cream. In addition to the main one, you can visit 2 restaurants for free to choose from, where the menu is richer and tastier. We chose fish and Italian. Everything there was very tasty. Meals are all inclusive, the food is good, meat every day - duck, lamb, beef, turkey, baked or in various forms. The fish is either grilled or stewed, I would like more fish. Squids are present mainly in stewed form. sometimes on the grill. There are a lot of sweets - all sorts of buns and cakes, halva, dried fruits. From fruit they gave delicious persimmons every day, melons that were not always ripe, apples, oranges, dates in various forms, local fruits, a lot of vegetables and all sorts of greens. Although the market there sells mangoes for $1 per kg, which are very tasty, the hotel does not offer mangoes.
The staff is helpful, smiling, correct, not intrusive.
An entertainment program every day for children and adults is scheduled by the hour. There is an arena on the shore where cartoons for children are shown and various concerts and shows are held. I really liked the foam disco on the shore, as well as the “Flying Board” on the pool, and we were also at the Sky Bar in the evening every day - there was live music, belly dancing and other entertainment, and they also treated us to delicious cocktails. I would especially like to note the work of the Animators - Alya came up every day on the beach and in the bar, talked about the events, smiled, joked, in general, well done. And other girls also tried very hard - Chulpan, Alena and Yana.
In general, 10 days flew by like in a fairy tale, the weather was velvety, the sea was warm, there were not many people.

We lived in building 4 overlooking the sea. The room is new and spacious. The beds are wonderful, I slept great in them. The balcony is gorgeous with a sofa, it was very pleasant to sit on it. The only downside to the room is the air conditioning, which is noisy when running.
We also didn’t understand the joke with the phone, which is located outside the room in the corridor. He called at different times of the day (at 2 am, at 7 am and happened a couple of times during the day), which is why at night we woke up in horror with thoughts of anxiety!
The cleaning was good, it was always clean when we returned from the beach, all the equipment was replenished.

The variety of dishes in the general restaurant is quite good and varied. What we chose for ourselves was very tasty, we went for more) The beef melts in your mouth, the shrimp, crabs are of course funny (there is nothing to eat in them), the mango and guava juices are incredibly tasty!
The fruit was disappointing. Apples, pears, bananas were presented (you can eat them every day in Moscow), tasteless melon, and no watermelons. But there were sweet, sweet dates that we only saw for some reason at breakfast. It's a shame they weren't served for lunch and dinner. What was also strange for me was coffee from a machine in a bar on the beach. But it was possible to take grain for an additional fee, but as for me, this is strange, usually cheap hotels supply coffee from a machine. Rotana, you are not like that! I liked the sea Ala carte, the Asian one on the contrary.
And by the way, a very friendly and positive girl greets you at the entrance to the common restaurant!

The beach and warm sea are what we liked most about this hotel! A huge number of fish, beautiful corals. It was interesting to swim between the piers and look at the underwater inhabitants! We saw a giant moray eel (2 live in burrows near the piers, but you shouldn’t be afraid of them - they swim about their business and that’s it)
The beach landscape is well thought out, no one lies on each other’s heads, there are always plenty of free sun loungers at any time. Beautiful area and promenade. Lots of photo locations. Moving around the hotel was not difficult; we used the elevator and escalator.

The animation is good, the girls are great - they come up several times a day to talk about upcoming events and invite us to take part in them: the Olympic Games, foam parties on the beach, darts, etc. But in the evening it was a bit boring. Tanura and belly dancing every other day, they were no longer interesting to watch, then live performances of songs, but somehow they were also not impressive. The amphitheater sometimes had shows from 21:00 to 21:30

As a result, we liked the hotel (there are, of course, disadvantages that you can turn a blind eye to, but I hope the hotel management will pay attention to them) I will recommend it to my friends and I will consider visiting it myself on my next holiday in Egypt! Prosperity to the hotel 🫶🏻

We were brave enough to go for a holiday in Sharm during the ongoing pandemic, and we are glad that we did (wish we stayed longer). We had a warm welcome at the resort and were provided with an excellent pool side room; plus because we are vegetarians and had notified the resort about our diet prior our arrival, the management arranged for us to meet culinary director of the resort (we really needed to write the names down, sorry), who from day one took an exceptional care about the food provided to us, much appreciated! We are very thankful to both teams in the main and the Italian restaurants, who always tried to go an extra mile to cook/serve a delicious vegetarian food for us, basically meeting all our food recommendations. We even had variety of plant-based drinks for breakfast. A few names that we remembered and would like to mention in this review are: Mahmoud, a waiter in the main restaurant who despite his duties always genuinely and enthusiastically played with our little one for which we are very grateful; we are also thankful to the guest relations lady - Irina (sorry if we got it wrong), who helped us a lot with the Italian restaurant vegetarian a la carte menu arrangements, and lastly and most importantly we would like to express our gratitude to one of the resort managers, Ahmed Hassan who ensured that we had a very special holiday in Grand Rotana where we also celebrated my darling's birthday and had a very nice cake freshly baked for the occasion and presented by the culinary director himself which felt very special, a huge thank you guys! Not to forget, is our thanks to a very friendly guy at the beach bar who served us drinks every day. Very caring staff at the pool, who were always vigilant to our kids enjoying an indeed a grand pool, thank you guys. And of course, a big thank you to the guy who took an outstanding care of our room and provided us with everything we needed. Thank you to all the staff at the resort for working very hard so people would enjoy their time away! See you again!

Visited for a two week break, possibly the only British couple in the resort, could have been others but the vast majority are from a wide mix of countries, met some great people. Firstly, the staff are accommodating, professional and courteous, I don't usually tip on all-inclusive but these guys deserved some extra recognition for doing amazing customer care and ensuring we had everything we needed from room service to dining. My wife is gluten intolerant, we spoke with the head chef for advice and each dish was discussed, fresh gluten free breads and madeleines were made and served every day to our table, lovely touch. Food quality is generally good, really great to try new dishes from different countries and regions. We used the Italian and asian restaurant, both very good with again, really great service staff. The team were very welcoming to us as English as they dont see many and we had some great conversations about, football, fish and chips and the rain!!
Rooms were good size, kept very clean and very comfortable, the team put a cold plated meal out for us both on arrival as we arrived after 11.30pm, we did pay a small upgrade for a sea view and ended up on the sea front with the most amazing sun rises and huge terrace, shared with other rooms but often on our own. I would recommend the upgrade, some of the rooms can be a good distance from the main hotel bars and dining.
We used the sun beds next to the sea and only sat by the pool once, both on different levels, pool tends to be a bit noisier with more activities during the morning and daytime. The sea beach areas have loads of sun beds and shade, it does get hot even in September it was 31-34 every day, I would go back later in the year as it drops down to 23-26 degrees with cloudless skies and sunshine. Swimming ans snorkelling in the sea is accessed from raised piers, the piers built just out of the coral where there is such an amazing variety of fish, the sea was very warm and you could often find yourself swimming through shawls of tropical fish. Snorkeling is very popular and easy to do everywhere from the different launch points and jetties.
If you do want to get off site and visit other islands etc or use the activity centre, then its easy to do and organize on-site, looked quite reasonably priced as well.
On a few occasions, you would find a nearby couple or group playing music next to you whilst you were trying to relax or pushing into you when queuing for food at the buffets, but it happens & generally most people were considerate to each other and polite.
The cash machine in reception was available in English and i was able to withdraw cash for minimal fees, we visited naama Bay via the hotel free shuttle, takes about 30 mins each way. On arrival at about 430, the place is pretty quiet, most shops sell knock offs and tat, prices are really high and im glad we were only there 2 1/2 hours. Apart from that we stayed at the hotel, relaxed and enjoyed the holiday, would go back to Egypt.

The hotel left mixed impressions, but still more positive!
Check-in is only registered according to international standards at 14:00 hours of the day, this is extremely inconvenient given the night flight, which was our case. The administrators of the man at the reception directly refused to move in earlier, but we were favored by Maria (the administrator), who did move in earlier, given the wait of more than 3 hours, thank her very much, but the adventure with the number did not end there. We were given a room in the seventh building, in which our holiday was ruined by ants and enough in large numbers, they were everywhere, waking up in the morning on pillows was a swarm of their ants, to which the administrators reacted again with mixed reactions. For two days they poisoned them with dichlorvose, for three days of living my patience ran out with this stink of this respondent and we were once again made to wait at the reception at 12 noon for resettlement after the scandal, but to our surprise they all know about this problem and do absolutely nothing but spray and wipe the floors. But the joy was that we were moved to the second unit, which was happy to have no annoying ants and we finally woke up in the morning without pestering insects.
The hotel itself delighted with the beautiful grounds, bright corals and marine life, a delicious cafe on the beach, in which you can eat at lunchtime on the beach to avoid going to the main restaurant and wasting valuable time. In the same way, this cafe on the beach in the evening works as a la carte restaurant where you can dine fish, seafood and just enjoy the sunset against the backdrop of the island of Tirana.
The hotel is not cheap, so it is imperative to convey that the staff at the reception are a little more loyal to their guests, and solve problems in advance, especially knowing about them.

Briefly about the main thing)
We stayed at the hotel from October 10 to October 18 as a family with two children. Overall, we were pleased with our vacation. 15-20 minutes from the airport.
The hotel area is very large, cozy, beautiful well-groomed alleys, a large swimming pool for children and adults, there is a children's club (where you can leave children under the supervision of a teacher), it is possible to use the services of a nanny (for an additional fee). The staff is friendly, polite, you can always find a common language. The decoration of the main building, where the reception and the main restaurant are located, is very beautiful.
During the day there is entertainment for children and adults (exercises, foam parties, children's animations, evening shows). Lively animators involve vacationers in fun games, dances, etc.
5 restaurants (one main one - the food is very tasty, a wide range of dishes (I especially liked the seafood) 4 ala carte (Italian, fish, grill, Asian), we visited 2, the dishes are amazing - tasty, large portions, beautiful presentation, service at the highest level . 3 or 4 bars (I don’t remember exactly, we didn’t have time to visit them all).
The main vacationers are Russians, Italians, Kazakhs.
Snorkelers will be able to appreciate the beautiful reef and the diversity of fauna.

The room is comfortable for living, quite spacious, it has everything you need (TV, refrigerator, safe, kettle, cups, tea, coffee, water, even an iron and ironing board).
Upon arrival, a snack was waiting in the room (fruit, vegetable, meat, cheese, buns, juice), it was very pleasant.
If we left early (before 9 am), we were given large lunch boxes.
