"Amarsina is an authentic Egyptian village, one of which a visitor would feel home. Within its genuine architecture, one can find some of the best inherited methods of construction in Egyptian heritage. Some Green Architecture principles was applied fifteen years ago during the construction of the village. So, as you walk through its two-hundred year old wooden door towards the lobby, you slowly start to discover the essence of the place. The handmade-brick decorated domes, colored marble floors, inner courtyard where the main swimming pool is located, village’s backyard farm with its iconic Pharonic statues, walkways, paths and corridors. We bring Egypt on a silver plate right to your grip.”

I gave a positive rating regarding the combination of the name, 'EGYPTIAN VILLAGE'.
The rooms have spartan 1950s furnishings, cathode ray tube TV and refrigerator.
From the noise, the air conditioner sounds like a threshing machine.
The structure is large, faithfully in Arabic style. The girls are housed in the west wing, away from prying eyes.
The swimming pool can also be used in January with the water temperature of around 20°C.
Wi-Fi is reachable in the common areas, but it is very precarious.
A team of cats is busy exterminating insects, too bad they can't catch flies and mosquitoes.
Shuttle (9/13 - 14/17) and free beach, I recommend going to RIF BEACH which is a 15 minute walk away.
I also have to thank the cooks because I finally lost two kg of weight.

Structure failed, they have no respect for foreign people and try to extract money from you every three by two. The only positive note? The driver was very kind and Ahmed was friendly, for the rest everything was not... Food only and exclusively for Egyptians despite it being written otherwise, things are written on the site which are not true such as satellite TV, free Wi-Fi and above all the fact that it is a quiet place because it is anything but quiet. You have the music as if you were in a disco from 9am and even with earplugs (because I even tried to adapt in vain) you can hear everything, if you want a quiet holiday I absolutely advise against it. For the sake of taking money from you, there is a gentleman who speaks English who tries in every way to cheat you, for example, upon our arrival we were asked for 10 euros more because our plane was late even though we had cordially notified very, very much in advance and I would like to underline A LOT. To continue if my boyfriend hadn't asked for change they wouldn't have given it to him. I study these things and a tourist village should be anything but like this, so if you only care about the people of your culture, do it entirely for them and not for everyone. I would like to add that it's not us who don't want to adapt but them who in any case don't allow you to do so because you take away one problem they give you 10 more. I definitely won't come back here, I prefer to spend 100 euros more but feel good 👍🏻

Furthermore, don't even rely on Volagratis as they put wrong photos and when you arrive at the facility over 4000 kilometers from home you find yourself in problems.

Very beautiful
Decorations that the cleaning boys made!!

What this hotel is not........
If you are looking for a European/American style chain resort the Amar Sina is not for you...... if this is what you're looking for my advise to you is, SPEND THE MONEY and lock yourself away in one of the all inclusive 'I feel like I'm in Britain with a bit of sun' resort!!

The Amar Sina is a small eclectic hotel, that whilst (as mentioned in many of the reviews) is in need of some maintenance and attention, provided me and my friend with a fantastic experience of Egypt that we will never forget.

All we wanted was a quite break by the pool, on the beach and to get some experience of a different culture and that is what we got!

So lets put this into some perspective..........

OUR ARRIVAL

We arrived circa 7-8pm to a reasonable welcome, the receptionist booked us in and gave us all the information we needed for our stay - (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner times, Bar venues, Drink arrangements throughout the day (10am - 10pm), arrangements for transport to and from the beaches, availability of Safety Deposit boxes and other facilities on or around the site) before arranging for us to be taken to our room - we were on the middle level so no stairs, a straight walk round to room 116!

THE ROOM

Had a double and single bed, TV, dresser, small coffee table, a couple of stools, fridge and air conditioning. The en-suite bathroom had a hobit size bath with an overhead shower, basin and toilet all in good working condition.
Whilst the room showed obvious signs of wear and tear (could have done with a lick of paint some of the furniture had a few knocks dents and bumps) it was reasonably clean and comfortable.

The air conditioning worked perfectly, although the panel was a little worn; there were no issues with the fridge and the electrics and lighting was all as it should have been. The mattresses on the beds were relatively new - (not thin or worn) and provided a comfortable night sleep.

Throughout our entire stay we only experienced 2 concerns with our room and these were both on our arrival. 1: the floor was wet in the bathroom - (we wern't sure if the toilet had been leaking) and 2: the single bed sheet was unclean - the pillows, top cover and the bedding for the other bed was perfectly fine.

Both of these were resolved the next morning. When housekeeping did their rounds they happily changed the bedding on request and the water in the bathroom floor was obviously from where they had cleaned it prior to our arrival.

The Housekeeping Team - We were provided with clean towels everyday and asked whether we wanted our room cleaned; the guys did a thorough job maintaining our room to a good standard.

THE FOOD

Let me remind you that the Amar Sina is not a British/American hotel, it is an Egyptian hotel; therefore you need to expect Egyptian style meals. All meals were provided in buffet format so you had a choice to select what was offer.

Breakfast:
Drinks: Tea, Coffee (instant) Juice, Water all available from the self service table. Food: They had bread, roles, some sort of pitta/naan, which all could be toasted. They made fresh small omelets with vegetables, ham and cheese, and if you ask the chef he will fry you a couple of eggs on the spot. They additionally had a small continental selection, with hams, meats and sliced cheeses as well as other hot options. I'm not sure what the hot options were as I was more then content with Fried eggs on toast!!

Lunch:
Food: They had a range of salad available as well as hot options that included rice, pasta, potatoes (Mashed, fired or boiled dependent on what they had prepared) and meats amoungst other things. Fruit was also available - (Mainly melon I think):
Drinks: generally whatever you want at that time of day and that is available from the bar.

Dinner:
Again a range of salad was on offer with breads to accompany your meal if you so wished. Hot options included rice pasta or potatoes as a staple, as well as cooked meats, and some form of curry on occasions (my friend had the obegine curry and thought it was fantastic). There was a choice of desert, mainly regional cakes, all of which were delicious....

We ate to our satisfaction every day at the hotel, we found foods that we favoured and avoided others that we weren't sure of. Not once over the course of 7 days did either of us get ill. We only topped this up with some fruit and crakers from the local shop as my friend found some local cheeses she wanted to try and bottled water for our room/excursions to the beech.

The Service Team and Chefs: Were friendly, polite, and efficient, and once they got to know you always wanted to engage in conversation or keen to have a laugh and a joke.

THE BARS

The bar by the pool provides drinks in small plastic glasses, I suspect this is to prevent breakage, and subsequent injury of the guests. There is a range of local beers, and spirits on offer as well as soft drinks (including Tea Coffee and Water). They make cocktails on request which whilst seems funny provided in a little plastic cups are pleasant all the same.

The main bar next t reception provides your drinks is glasses and again has a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available. We had ice in all of our drinks and were fine.

The 'all inclusive' finishes at 10pm, in terms of drinks, however the price of after that is still extremely reasonable, we sat and drank until 4am one evening and the cost was no more then cira £40 for two of us.......

The Bar Teams: A fantastic team of guys, always v.busy; but always polite and curious and just like the service team, when they had time made sure that we had everything we needed.

HINT: if they offer to make you a cocktail....let them

THE POOL

I have seen many reviews about the pool......this is my take:

Like the rest of the hotel it does need some maintenance, there are some cracked tiles and it could do with a little love; however the team clean (with a net) and chlorinate the pool every night.

The pool is at the heart of the hotel and it is surrounded by foliage and vegetation - (trees, plants and flowers), when a pool has such a surrounding you can expect a few leaves and petals to be in the pool.

The contributing factor to the pool condition was by it's guests. When you smoke and drink in the pool and discard cups and cigarette ends at the edge this will have an effect.

Whilst it's true that there are a limited number of sun beds and not all are in a good condition, there are chairs and table also available if you need to sit by the pool. There is also a number of other locations where you can enjoy the sun (or shade) across the hotel, it just depends on what your looking for.

...and finally THE TEAM
These guys work v.long days and do an amazing job; everyone from 'Mr' Ali the manager, through to Fred and Ahmed in the restaurant, Alex, Ali and Divani on the bar, not to mention back office and reception teams, the chefs, housekeeping and anyone else who I have failed to mention. They all spoke some varying degrees of understandable English - (which was far better then my Egyptian Arabic) and made an effort to interact with you as guest..... They do their best to cater for a mix of cultures (Egyptian, Russian, English amongst others) and continually asked if we needed anything, checked to see if we were ok and, how we found Egypt.
Yes the hotel needs some work but its worth a visit just for the team.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Egypt and a big part of this was due to our stay at the Amar Sina...... If you are going there in the next couple of months my advise to you is as follows;
Do not expect the 'traditional western style hotel' - if you do you will be disappointed, go to the Amar Sina with an open mind, open heart and embrace the experience........ Do this and I think you'll be fine

Thank Amar Sina for the best holiday in many years, hope to see you next year

Best Wishes

Natalie

I go back for the third time and I found it worse, I state that I only needed it to sleep in the back even if I chose the all inclusive option, certainly needs more attention, the cleanliness, especially in the common areas, leaves something to be desired... the first room they gave me was practically in the cellar, then they moved me fortunately, the staff, except the guy with walking problems at the reception, very rude! In the all inclusive beer was not expected and when asked why they answered that the price is too low to have beer... embarrassing breakfast; nothing sweet and when I pointed out (to 3 people) the manager told me I talk to the chef, but nothing has changed .. the positive side is the beach with isaac very nice and helpful, the zoo as they call it and dirty and the staff very intrusive and insistent. I repeat that it is only fine as a shelter for the night if you go for diving and group living around, if you want the quiet Resort with VIP services is not for you

Dilapidated, dirty room full of mosquitoes, non-existent air conditioning, non-existent assistance. I complain that the room was very dirty and they told me that they would send a person. After about 10 minutes, a guy arrives with a broom and a rag (they were being treated at 11.30pm in the evening) he asks me if the problem was the bathroom, I reply for this evening it's fine to fix the bathroom he tells me he would be back and now that it's 3:18 minutes in the morning I'm still waiting

The worst hotel I've ever seen. Everything's all-inclusive with my mom, it's all off, right down to cleaning, water and air conditioning. We checked into the room at 2 o'clock. Well, that's ok, asked for a glass of water at the bar at 1 o'clock. I was told wait until 2 o'clock when you're checked in before then. Swimming in the pool , but we didn't know that there it didn't come down and the water was constantly standing ,in the evening at 5 pour 3 buckets of chlorine, in 15 days of rest the same thing and stink. and all the bingo in the morning you can swim, I think as skin didn't come off))))))) Service for 0, people are nothing and nothing to them. We are money to them that has already been paid. So you can ignore and ignore us. Alcohol 3 bottles of 12 degrees for the entire hotel (although it says 40°) type vodka, whisky and gin and all the same only different colors with plastic. And + to everything per person there is a dose of 4 cups of 10 grams)))) so went to the store and bought both food and alcohol )))) the main all inclusive. The food is portioned, everyone puts one spoon on it, and when you ask for more, they look at you as not a good person. The room is just game, the ground floor, which is by the pool there all the rooms are just a nightmare ... no water, no air conditioning, and all the plaster from the damp falls on your bed. The bed hasn't changed since the people who lived before us. Just like towels. All the photos I'm attaching... it's just horrible... Please think before you go to this hotel. Better than $100 overpay and live well))))

This was the worst all inclusive I’ve ever experienced. There was hardly any food choice and bread as hard as rocks.
Our room was old and dirty, the stains on the wall around the bed were shocking and that was after getting an upgrade!
All inclusive ends at 10pm and you get served in tiny plastic cups.
Just don’t book, trust me.

This is such a lovely hotel, really quirky Egyptian architecture, great staff and very clean.

Pool area is beautiful and private. Lovely gardens, inviting swimming pool.

The food is really tasty and the food and beverage manager Wael is very hospitable and great at organising events.

Muhammad on reception is very helpful and courteous. Nothing is too much trouble.

Rooms are big and beds are comfortable, the stained glass domed ceilings are a really special feature.

Cleaners work tirelessly, towels are good quality and beach towels given daily and are all new, huge and thick.

If you are looking for a good value hotel, with an Egyptian twist then this it.

They did not return to their e-mail addresses to explain this situation, but they did not refund the fee.

This hotel is not Suitable for any persons with a disability. The all inclusive package is not what it says.
Our first room we were given the electricity had a fault, with my phone light I scanned the room only to see that the bedspread had burn holes in.
we were moved to a second room. this room was terrible with electric problems with the air conditioning control unit all the buttons missing and hanging off the wall.
we pulled the bed cover down to find a bug in the sheets, not clean. the towels not clean, the toilet seat broken, the room overall not clean too many items to list.
Could not wait to get out
