We stayed here as a couple for 1 week in mid-June. This review is long, so feel free to skip to the end if you’d like to see the main tips/warnings. Facilities 8/10 The hotel is split into 2 sides over a road. It is about a 5-10 minute walk from one to the other. We stayed in the side with the beach, which also featured the Chill Out Bar, Shisha Bar, Sunset Bar, live entertainment stage and 1 main pool. There were at least 2 other pools on this side but they were closed. The lobby area on this side was small, and you frequently couldn’t get a seat if waiting for an excursion for example. There were ATM’s available to withdraw Egyptian pounds, although note that it tends to give out larger notes rather than the 50’s we would of preferred for tipping, and the hotel will not change them for you. We only popped to the other side a couple of times. Their side featured 3 huge pools including some water slides (of which not all were open). Their side also had the Olympic Sports Bar which had a pool table, and a couple of other restaurants not on the all-inclusive package. Note that if you do decide to go to the other side of the hotel for the day, you can only have lunch in the restaurant that is on the same side as your room. Understandable but inconvenient. The room we stayed in was 1058. We had a view of the main pool and a Seaview. The bed was comfy and there was a walk in shower. Note that there is no iron in the room, but there is a hairdryer, small safe (no extra charge), kettle and small fridge containing water. Throughout the hotel it does look a tad tired and dated, and perhaps could do with a renovation in the next few years but certainly not awful. Having the beach only a walk away rather than having to use a shuttle bus was a definite positive for us. There were always plenty of sunbeds by the pools and the beach, and spread out enough that you weren’t on top of each other. We were also given towel cards to use. Staff 7/10 Although there was nothing wrong with the staff, the vast majority did not have customer service as a high priority. For example, if you went to the Sunset Bar a couple of minutes before 10:00am when they open, they would tell you to come back after 10 even though they had everything ready and were just stood around waiting. When a member of concierge took us to our room, the only thing they pointed out was where the restaurant was. It would have been nice to maybe have been given a map on check in to help us find our way around. We later found maps near the security entrances to the hotels, but they aren’t incredibly noticeable. Our housekeeper was very friendly, always did a great job in the room and left us towel art which was always fantastic. The waiters in the restaurant frequently tried to get you to choose paid meals instead (such as a BBQ), so much so that they would even try and show you the posters whilst you were eating. Other Guests The guests on our side of the hotel were mixed nationality, whilst the other side appeared to be primarily Egyptians. Nothing major to say on other guests. Due to the fact that the hotel wasn’t incredibly busy, you could find somewhere a bit out of the way most of the time if you wanted. We spoke to a few other English guests during our stay and we exchanged information or advice with them as they too didn’t seem to get a lot of information during check in. Entertainment 3/10 In our opinion, the entertainment was definitely lacking. We did not participate in the day time activities, so can’t really comment on that apart from they did have water polo and a couple of other similar activities going on most days. Both of the pools we visited on both sides of the hotel usually had loud music playing (some of which was inappropriate to say there were kids around), and was usually a mix in types of music (eg Arabic and English). If you prefer no music, then the beach didn’t have any playing. As for night time entertainment, the main bar on our side of the hotel was the Chill Out Bar. This was just a large room with some seats in it, with a speaker playing Arabic music however the bartender was friendly. After talking to some other guests, it sounds as though this bar used to be more upbeat in the past. We did not use the Shisha Bar (due to the fact you couldn’t have all inclusive drinks at that bar), but it wasn’t very busy. We popped into the Olympic Sports Bar on the other side of the hotel one night, but we did not feel very welcome so did not stay. The live entertainment was usually at 9:30pm and lasted about 30 minutes, and was almost always Eygptian/African dance. Out of the 7 nights we stayed, 4 were African dance, 1 karaoke and 1 Arabic singer, the other night no entertainment took place. Towards the end of our holiday, we went down to Soho instead as the drinks weren’t too badly priced and the entertainment/atmosphere was more upbeat for us. Food and Drink 6/10 The food was okay, but not much better than alright. Breakfast was the same things every day (omelette station, pancake station, hot food such as sausages, falafel, potato, etc, pastries). Lunch and dinner did rotate a bit but some things were always standard (eg pasta station, rice, chicken, red meat and fish). Note for vegetarians, you will notice that there isn’t a huge variety of options. They also don’t label up their choices with dietary requirements. I would advise you to check with them what is vegetarian, as I selected a couple of dishes that looked/sounded/seemed vegetarian but actually had meat in them. When we visited the other side of the hotel, they were doing chicken sandwiches and chips at one of the pool bars. We did not have any of this after we saw the staff putting chips that had been given to guests and left back into the tray for other guests to have. We appreciate the fact they are trying to reduce wastage, but we did not think it was acceptable. As for drinks, the list of drinks included on the all-inclusive package definitely isn’t the largest. The only beer included was 1 local one, which according to my partner was not the nicest. I prefer mocktails, but even these were just a type of pop (eg. Sprite, Fanta, etc) with a syrup in them. The list available featured 5 mocktails and 6 cocktails. Typically we had water and pop in the day (of which their selection was Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite and Fanta). We tried the orange “juice” one time at breakfast, and I’m not sure what it was but it seemed more like squash than juice. If you fancy a change, we went to the Fontana Bar and the “pub” at Soho which had imported beer (not awfully priced) and fresh mocktails made with actual fruit (which were about £2-£2.50). Location 9/10 The location was really quite good. As we stayed on the beach side of the resort, it was only a short walk down to the beach which is where we spent most of our time. The snorkelling area was great, granted you didn’t hit the peak times. We managed to see loads of different sea life. Sadly however there was ongoing building works next to the hotel which was audible, and although could have been much worse it did take away a little from just relaxing on a sun bed. The other side of the hotel is a short walk away, however they also do run a bus. Soho was also about a 10 minute walk, and is definitely worth the trip in our opinion. Tips/Warnings 1. The cups they use are all really small. Would definitely recommend bringing your own larger cups (we used Swig ones that keep your drinks cool) to save on many trips to the bar. 2. The list of all inclusive drinks isn’t really that large. 3. You will get pestered by sales (eg. Watersports, diving, the spa, photographers) A LOT – or at least we certainly did even though we said every time we weren’t interested. 4. Entertainment is lacking (particularly night time) in our opinion. We’d recommend having a trip out to Soho. 5. If you stay in the main block by the Beach side’s main pool area, you will hear any night time entertainment quite loudly. Although it is great if you wanted to watch the entertainment from your room. 6. Take your own towel with you too. Although they will give you one per person, the towel does not cover the entire sunbed, and the vast majority of sunbeds we used were faux leather, which of course got very hot in the sun. Overall, this hotel was not outstanding, but certainly wasn’t bad either. Our verdict is it is great if you are on a budget and want somewhere cheaper but acceptable like we did, but next time we would choose to spend a little more and find somewhere else. 3.5 stars…

Hilton sharks bay hotel I am now at the Hilton Sharks Bay. This hotel is one of the best hotels my family and I have been to. Frankly, we enjoyed it very much, but the drawback is that there is no sea near it and you have to go to the other part of the hotel. But the distance is not far at all. There is a defect in the reception. Also the service was excellent. The food was good. The room was comfortable and good. It was a hotel that I think will not happen again✨
My partner & I are just back from our stay. For a start the staff are so friendly and kind, we had a little package of food ready for us as we arrived after dinner. We were taken to our room with a garden view by a little golf buggy and it was utterly spotless and well as nicely laid out etc. Our housekeeper, Mohammed, was great. He made adorable or funny shapes out of towels every morning and it was cleaned to a very high standard, as well as leaving us a little potted flower and plenty water each day. Food was good. I’d have possibly expected a bit more choice but my partner & I found something we liked each day. Mr Asem Ali looked after us for each and every meal, bringing us drinks and remembered what we both wanted. It was a bit hectic, especially the evening meal but to be expected at a busy time of year so just try and go earlier if you don’t want to be hassled. The entertainment was disappointing. There was a few things through the early day such as darts, water polo, water aerobics etc which was great just a shame this didn’t continue into the evening. We were all inclusive so didn’t plan on going out each evening but mostly had to. We were disappointed to find out there was a show on in the Chill Bar at Hilton 2 that we had to pay entry for so we didn’t bother. We did have great fun on the arranged night out I have to say but was expensive for a ticket and expensive once out. Special mention to Amanda for chatting to us. There was also a few water slides shut with no explanation when asked. If you’re wanting to do any external trips, water experiences, quad biking etc, ask for Mostafa. While they all have a commission to make, he enabled us to get a great price and wasn’t forceful. Also, buy your headscarves and cheap sunnies for the trips in the hotel shop. They are far greater quality while being far cheaper than anywhere outside. Not the hotel you want for nightly entertainment. We could see over the water from the beach that the Four Seasons had fire breathers and all sorts so likely that’s where we’ll stay if we go back to Sharm.…
We chose the Hilton as it was in the right Location for our trip as we had things to do in nearby Nabq. Have been going to Sharm for many years and have stayed in many hotels here. I’m afraid I can only rank the Hilton as average. There are far better hotels out there for the price. There are pool areas closed off where it would be nice to relax away from the overly noisy main pool. Where the animation team do their best to engage you - but with very little catering for European tastes - especially the evening entertainment/ always geared for Egyptian tastes. The beach is fine - if you have any walking difficulties you will struggle - not only at the beach but in the hotel in general. Food is typical Egyptian- reasonable choice that rotates every few days. But as always it promises a lot but lacks in flavour. If only they would use some herbs/ spices and seasonings then they would be onto a winner. There was supposed to be a choice of free A la carte restaurants too - only to find out you had to pay to use them. However, this did change and they opened one up as free while we were there. Drinks are a laugh. As in many resorts you get tiny cups. Why don’t they realise that you only visit twice as often- just give you a bigger glass- cup to begin with !! The room was spotless- the cleaner did a great job and nothing was ever a problem. Fresh towels daily and bed linen changed to satisfaction. General cleanliness a little less so. One day there was a pile of vomit on the floor - we reported it to 3- 4 staff and it too over 6 hours to be cleaned up. I do have pictures but I won’t post it here! To finish up. - don’t expect free WiFi - it is a disgrace for a company like the Hilton to claim the resort has free WiFi. Talking to staff there it has a total of 2gb for all guests. So you can imagine how slow - non existent it is. I went for a day and a half and it wouldn’t even connect!! Overall its an average hotel not worthy of the Hilton name. There are better out there so choose wisely.…
I really recommend this place for having fun and enjoyment Good and helpful staff Good and express service A heaven on the earth I wish I would stay more nights there. Soon I gonna come back for having more fun
Just arrived home from our stay at the Hilton. The hotel is very friendly, and will go out of there way to help if you need anything. Everyday our room was spotless, Kareem went above and beyond to make sure our room was tidy, he put us fresh bottles of water in our room daily, Very satisfied. The restaurant had a lot of variety and the food was good. Saad looked after us everyday, bringing us coffee and juice and was very kind and helpful. On the nights we stayed in, we went in the adults only bar, where again we were treated very kind, and Mohamed was always polite and helpful. Saad at the beach organised me and my friends a boat trip snorkelling, and we also got to see the dolphins, and again, very satisfied. We joined in yoga and water games on a morning at the pool, and both Alahdean and keto made things enjoyable and fun. Sometimes the restaurant was very busy and hectic, but is to be expected when the Egyptian kids are off school. Everyone was friendly and helpful, if we needed a taxi they give us the exact price to pay and made sure we could return to the hotel with our driver when we was returning from old market, neamma bay etc… A lot of people moaning about slightest things on the reviews, mosquito’s etc… but visiting sharm you get bitten anywhere you stay. The guys are working hard to get tourism up and the hotels filled again.. a little bit quiet for us, but can’t fault our stay. Lovely friendly people as always. Everything to satisfaction.…
