Shams Safaga Resort comes highly recommended for its impeccable cleanliness, particularly in the rooms, beach area, and pools, with guests consistently commending the housekeeping. The resort's atmosphere is another highlight, with the friendly staff and appealing room decor contributing to a fantastic ambiance. While most visitors appreciate the polite and efficient service, some have noted occasional service hiccups. The rooms receive mixed reviews, ranging from spacious to somewhat dated, yet the resort is often praised for providing good value and a range of praised amenities like entertainment and dining options, despite some Wi-Fi and room allocation issues.

I was here for 10 days in December/January and now in February for the second time because I felt so comfortable. There are also a noticeable number of regular guests and "repeat offenders" here... and I understand very well why.

The hotel is a bit old, but it is gradually being renovated.
The first time I had an unrenovated room and now one that has already been renovated, but I was happy in both rooms because everything is clean and well-kept. The beds in the room are often lovingly decorated and most importantly - the mattresses are great!

There are also bungalows that are a bit more expensive, but I was completely happy with my room in the main building.

The hotel has a beautifully landscaped garden and the wide, gently sloping sandy beach stretches across 4 connected hotels and is the most beautiful I know in Egypt.

The entire staff is, without exception, extremely friendly and tries to anticipate your every wish. If something is missing or not right, just tell the room boy or reception and they will take care of it immediately.

The food is very varied and plentiful. There are theme nights (e.g. Italian with pizza etc.), always something freshly grilled, a pasta station where you can choose the ingredients yourself and also a lot of oriental food - which I love because I can eat German at home. ;-)
And in the restaurant too, the staff will fulfill your every wish if something is missing.

This was definitely not the last time I was there - for a little break in between, everything is perfect and the price-performance ratio is sensational.

Aging hotel, the standard room we had was less than standard, very noisy air conditioning, bathroom, nothing to put things down and tiny shower with plastic curtain that sticks to us when we shower.
Average food with few signs indicating the name of the dishes, so make do.
Only 1 person spoke French, but she is not always there.
The white wine offered is hot...not kept cool at all.
The beach bar, the drinks served in glasses that were certainly poorly rinsed and washed with I don't know what product, but a few times I wasn't able to drink, because just the smell and the taste, I had the feeling like you're drinking household powder.
No room on the deckchairs during the day because some put an object or leave their towel for the week...and not even a beach towel to lend us on the day of our arrival...at 3:30 p.m. at the beach and more towel...
The wooden armchairs in the beach bar, which can be seen in the hotel presentation photos, have been replaced by plastic armchairs.
The positive point of this hotel is for snorkelling, we were able to see beautiful corals, fish and turtles on the hotel beach

Excellent wintering - 3 months stay for about 6 years - repeaters keep coming, it becomes a 2nd home for many, you build up a circle of friends, always happy to see the hotel staff again.
Price/quality absolutely good
Neat rooms
Delicious food, something for everyone, large range of vegetables/pasta/meat/fish/chicken...dessert - lunch is also possible, for those who wish at the beach bar
Friendly staff >anytime, anywhere, around the clock
from managers, reception, waiters, chefs... bartenders... up to and including cleaning staff, gardeners, handymen, ......

The staff is unfriendly and considers a pejorative if no tip is against, so even the room is not cleaned properly if none is ready. They just forget the towels. Behind one they always talk bad about the guests, since my friend speaks Arabic he understood everything, there were comments like: “Son of a bitch” or “cheap meat” in the case of the ladies

Very poor quality hotel, very old, requiring renovation although quite clean. The air conditioning is so old that it works like a tractor, you can't sleep next to it. The shower cubicle is so small that you can't lift your arms in it, equipped only with rain showers, which is annoying. First we got a room on the 3rd floor without a lift, the reception phone didn't work, the condition of the room was tragic. Then they changed our family room to two small rooms. Zero equipment in the room, they only give you 2 small bottles of water for the entire stay. Tragedy. The pools are quite ok, but the ones for children are very short-lived with long breaks. At 5 pm the pools for children are closed and only open at 10 am with a 2 hour break. The food is poor, there is almost nothing to eat at breakfast, lunches are similar, dinners are a bit better, but also nothing revolutionary. Almost no fruit, only melon and dates. No toast, no seafood, almost no cold cuts. Only soups and sometimes beef are edible, apart from that it's a disaster. Drinks are just a drink with alcohol without any additives. The internet works as if it didn't exist. This is probably the worst hotel I've ever been to. I won't return to this resort.

Shams Safaga 20 - 27.4.2024
Arrival at the hotel at 8.30 a.m., wristbands at 10 a.m. and rooms after 10.30 a.m., main building 1-3 floors have a balcony, 4-5 without a balcony, 1 bottle of water upon arrival per person, then you can either drink from the barrels that are around the area or in the dining room or at the bar, 2 blocks of bungalows under repair, but this does not interfere with the course of the holiday at all (they are already finishing at this moment).
Sunrise at 5:11 a.m. (now the time was changing at about 6:11 a.m.), at that time a lot of sunbeds were occupied on the beach (the clientele was older and they either get up early or they can't sleep 😀).
As for the food, there was enough of everything and the choice was sufficient for us, of course there will be those who will pin and pin (everyone's business).
Unfortunately, we don't use the pools, so I can't comment.
Bar on the beach, sometimes something happened in the afternoon 😀 but otherwise ok.
The sea, that's why we're here, the water is 24 degrees in the afternoon and 26 degrees in the afternoon, 42 and sometimes up to 49 degrees in the sun, 32-34 degrees in the shade. I bring a thermometer 😀.
You don't need shoes for the water, there is wonderful fine sand, but you definitely need to go to the water.
Snorkeling there is pleasant, I met a turtle, a lionfish, a moray eel, a moray eel and a lot of different fish. The wind was blowing all the time and the flag was still yellow. The sea went away but always came back, so great.
Classic rooms, beds and bedside table, table with TV, wardrobe and safe, fridge, small shower, toilet, sink, mirror and hairdryer.
The air conditioning smelled at first, but after reporting it, everything was fine. Only the curtains were full of mosquitoes, I recommend taking something to repel them. There were still small white flies on the beach, also unpleasant. The cleaning was also done without any problems, our Ahmed was always smiling, greeting and waving from a distance.
Tip, it's up to everyone to say yes or no, but no one lends a hand here, but if you give, you might even have a better holiday, they want to make a better day for you.
Next to the hotel, on the left, there are shops that stretch along the entire street, or there is the possibility to buy a little something at the hotel, it depends on what charms you.
I have been here several times, the first time 10 years ago, the sea here is great.
It's my opinion, but maybe it will help someone.
I wish a wonderful holiday to whoever will be here in Shams Safaga 🐢💦🌞🐟🐠🪸 and I will definitely come back again.

I stayed at this beautiful resort in September with my family, and we had an amazing time! The staff were incredibly friendly, especially at the front desk, where they helped us plan our daily activities. The room was spacious and spotless, with an incredible view of the ocean. Housekeeping did a fantastic job of keeping everything clean and well-stocked throughout our stay. The pool area was well-maintained, and we enjoyed the variety of food offered at the on-site restaurant.

One small downside was the Wi-Fi, which was a bit slow at times, but it didn’t affect our overall experience. A special mention goes to the animation team, who kept the atmosphere lively and fun, especially Chief Adel Hamza, who was always entertaining.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to families looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday by the beach.

My husband and I felt very comfortable in the hotel. We had a bungalow in the first row, right on the beach, wonderful! The room boy Ibrahim spoiled us every day with new towel creations and fresh flowers in the room. He cleaned everything very well and was always friendly.
Our waiter in the restaurant was also very accommodating and always provided us with drinks. Unfortunately we don't know his name. The selection of food was varied and good, the morning omelettes were great! Everyone was always helpful and friendly. The sandy beach is great, the crystal clear water is incredible! We were able to relax very well in the hotel, the only thing we didn't need was the animation music on the beach for our taste and sometimes the constant inquiries from salespeople were a bit tiring. A larger "quiet zone" would be a suggestion for improvement.
The massage department is also great, everything is clean and very competent.
The price/performance ratio is great!

This hotel is totally focused on the German market. The reception staff told us there may be 3 or 4 other English people staying. To that end we most definitely felt like second class guests especially in the way we were treated. Certainly the waiting staff were all over the other guests reserving tables for them, carrying their food etc etc. some were served different drinks in pint glasses rather than a plastic beaker. One man in particular wasn’t wearing a wrist band and they bent over to please him. He even got preferential treatment at meal times. It seemed to be the more you tipped them the more you got. I am not adverse to tipping but it was constant. On the upside our room cleaner was excellent. We had booked a beach bungalow with a lateral sea view. We got a bungalow facing the health spa. I spoke to reception they said to return at 1pm the following day and they would upgrade the room. I attended and got more excuses as to why they couldn’t give me what I paid for. I gave up. The food is quite monotonous and totally aimed at our Deutsch guests. There was always something to eat but it wasn’t something I looked forward to. I’ve never been a lover of cold chips no that we saw them often. The food at the beach bar was simple and always good. The beer is all served from a bottle and wasn’t cold the coke etc was the same. The upside was the beach and snorkelling this was a saving grace for this hotel. We had a relaxing week but wouldn’t return for all of the above plus other stuff but I won’t bore you with it all.
