The Lemon and Soul Makadi Garden Hotel offers a vibrant atmosphere and engaging entertainment, which guests find particularly delightful, although the repetitiveness of the music has been noted. While travelers appreciate the hotel's cleanliness, well-maintained rooms, and the efficient shuttle service, some have raised concerns about noise and the occasional pestering staff member. Room experiences are varied, with comfort being praised but poor soundproofing and a sense of datedness drawing criticism.
The value proposition of the hotel is debated, as some guests deem it affordable while others caution about hidden costs. The service is generally commended for being friendly, yet appears to be influenced by tipping practices.

What the place lacked in comfort, the staff more than made up for with their excellent service. It’s true what they say—a place is only as good as its people. This couldn’t be more evident at Lemon and Soul.
The Good:
My 9-year-old daughter and I were continuously warmly welcomed by the hotel personnel, especially the bar and restaurant staff and the shuttle service team. She absolutely loved the playful attention and the consistently outstanding service from morning to night.
A special mention goes to Torres, who is doing an incredible job with entertainment and activities by the pool. His ability to light up the atmosphere single-handedly was impressive. In fact, he was the highlight of our holiday—so much so that my daughter excitedly shared stories about him with her class on the very first day back. He’s also part of an engaged entertainment team hosting nightly shows at the amphitheater in the neighboring hotel - much recommended!
The beautiful gardens, heated pool, small but pleasant beach, charming towel art by Ahmed and the cleaning team, and the overall good vibe of the place also stood out.
The Not-So-Good:
Unfortunately, the noise was a significant issue. Despite being located away from the shoreline hotels, the lack of sound isolation made it incredibly noisy. While the reception kindly moved us from a pool view to a garden view room, I still struggled to sleep due to noise from the neighboring hotel’s entertainment until late and early morning construction work that began at 7 a.m. daily.
Another downside was the lack of access to beach activities, which were only available at an additional cost. Additionally, the beach had a general shortage of sunbeds, which was inconvenient. A lot of smokers by the pool which could easily be solved by creating a "non-smoking corner".
Finally, I had a disappointing experience with the reception when I thought I had lost my room key. Rather than meeting empathy or an action plan, I was simply told there would be an "extra charge." Thankfully, the key was in my room, and I had just locked myself out, but the initial response left a poor impression.
All in all a heartfelt and nice vacation, thanks to the great work and warmth of the staff.

Really nice and welcoming hotel, very friendly, helpful and helpful staff, in Egypt tipping is in demand and here they give more than willingly, especially for those who clean the room who really does a job done well. Thanks to the legendary Ragab for treating us in a great way and making us find the room always perfect. November is an enjoyable month, the only flaw is that the daylight hours are winter, but it balances with the very affordable price. The cuisine is very good provided you prefer local dishes. The pool is very cold and has no chlorine, so it is really nice, the bar service is always available and well served.

Booked resort on Expedia as offered good value and reviews were fair.
After a two week vacation, I would highly recommend the food and culinary team they were totally amazing. Varied food each night, including a Bedouin themed evening. Themed nights include Thai, German,
The rooms are clean and comfortable with air conditioning an in room safe, mini bar and tea and coffee facilities.
You get to use the alcarte restaurants on site once in a week, we selected the Indian and Asian evenings.
For Christmas Eve they had an awesome street festival of food.
There is Free WiFi at the Pool Bar and Reception.
There is a shuttle bus that runs to the beach from 07:00 to past midnight every 30 minutes we called it the tuk tuk party bus as was always entertaining with great music in a party atmosphere.
The few negatives.
The Pools in Lemon and Soul are not heated, not a big issue as the Sea is warmer.
There is a sales team each day that are very painful, once you tell them you have booked on get my guide they leave you alone, is far better value for excursions.
There is no daily entertainment programme at Lemon and Soul however a dude called Moo is always around and positive.

We ended up at the lemon and soul hotel by accident, there were no vouchers for our favorite hotel Labranda Royal, we were afraid that it would be inconvenient and far away to get to the beach, as it was the second line. In fact, a shuttle bus runs constantly and takes you directly to the beach, and in the evenings to the promenade with a la Card restaurants and a theater. It is very very small and cozy, the whole area is well-groomed and landscaped. The hotel rooms are small, but clean and in good repair. The hotel has several bars and one “Roof bar” with a beautiful view of the sunsets. The food is not very varied, but everything is delicious, we went to the Mango festival once, it was very beautiful and tasty. In the evenings, every day we visited the amphitheater with evening shows - everything was at a professional level, it was very interesting and beautiful. We went to the disco on the beach several times and really enjoyed it. We would love to go to this hotel again

I've no idea where the reviewers with positive reviews have been staying, but it certainly wasn't the same lemon and soul makadi bay as the we stayed in, booked through Love Holidays.
Love Holidays sold me a 4*hotel, boasting 18 bars and restaurants with 5+ pools.
What we got was nothing more than a 2* with 1 restaurant, 1 pool and 1 "bar ", which was only a small poolside shack.
We learned that the hotel has a sister hotel, and that was where all the other bars and restaurants are. However, in order to enjoy such pleasantries, you have to pay €19pppd, and you have to be off the premises by sundown. None of this information was included in any of the holiday adverts: we wouldn't have booked it had we been aware of this.
The "beach" it boasts is more true if described as "there are sun loungers resting on builders yard sand, with a pitiful snack bar serving cold pizza and burger, and a bar that doesn't serve wine".
Yes, it seriously is THAT bad.
The room... well, you can look at the photos attached. One might ask why we didn't ask for another room. The answer is simple: we got talking to other English tourists who were on their 2nd and 3rd rooms. From this I gathered that all the rooms must have been similar.
We also found that, rather than tipping for a good service etc, it is more like if you DON'T tip, you don't get the service. And I'm talking about things like toilet roll, coffee, tea, milk and handwash.
The shuttle service "bus" was very reliable, although the golf cart is the more comfortable one, as opposed to the van.
It is really nice to see that they grow lots of their own vegetables that are served in the restaurant.
The lobby decor is bright and welcoming.
The gardens are well cared for.
I've made a complaint to trading standards about this, because what Love Holidays are selling, is most definitely not what you get. This is on going.

We just returned from a week at Lemon and Soul in Makadi Bay and were very pleasantly surprised by our experience.
Knowing that we'd booked a more 'budget friendly' hotel, we were unsure what to expect and thought we might see some flaws but in all honesty, I don't think there was anything we missed in this hotel than if we'd upgraded to another hotel.
The hotel reception staff are all very friendly and welcoming - on one evening my partner was quite unwell and we'd been left without toilet roll. One of the reception staff disappeared running corner to corner of the hotel to find some and (quite literally) ran back to me with 2 rolls. I didn't catch your name, but you can't understand how much this was appreciated!
The pool area was good, with plenty of bed spaces (although these are regularly "taken" from early morning, the pool staff go out of their way to find single beds and combine them for you), the bar is well stocked with local options and plenty of water and the staff happy to help.
The room, albeit basic, was clean and the 2 beds pushed together to make a 'double' was huge, so much so our kingsize bed at home seems like sleeping too close 🤣 The only minor comment is on the aircon in our room, which was quite loud and clunky - I suspect it is just in need of a service as it did work (thankfully!) and after the first night I was used to the sound so it didn't disturb me.
The restaurant and food was good, the selection was not huge but was good quality and there were different options every day. It was great to see a management presence making sure everything was running smoothly and the kitchen staff made sure once something ran out, it was quickly replaced. As long as you're not very picky, expecting a beige menu (chips/burgers/pizzas) and have an open mind about trying different things, you will find something to eat. A particular shout-out to Ahmed on the bar in the restaurant - constantly busy and I feel he is overlooked in his role, but was fantastic! We didn't use our A La Carte voucher on the basis of my partner being unwell, so can't comment on that.
The beach area is good, the pizza served at the beach hut was tasty and the shuttle/transfer was great - our original intention had been to walk down but when we realised how hot it was, the shuttle became our best friend!
I can't comment much on the entertainment as we didn't partake in any activities or the evening entertainment (and we were happy with how quiet the hotel was on an evening, as we'd come for a relaxing break!) however the young man leading aqua aerobics seemed to do a great job. On the Bedouin night, there were 2 dancers outside the restaurant who were incredible, I would've fallen down after 3 spins and they kept it going for about 10 minutes!
All in all, as long as you're reasonable in your expectations, you won't be let down by this hotel. We'd definitely return.

The property has a good size, equipped with swimming pool, spa and buffet restaurant. I found both the outdoor and indoor spaces very clean, although in personal opinion very annoying the scent in the reception area. To get to the sea you use a very efficient electric shuttle that takes you to the beach in 5 min. Unfortunately it does not have any wharf so access to the sea (essential in the Red Sea) does not make it possible to see its wonders. The only existing wharf is of the resort a few meters but that prohibits access to those who are not of the structure except for a fee (to us they asked € 30.00 per day for 4 people)! Third time in Egypt but first in Hurghada, for my taste really too much wind and much colder water than in other areas visited (I always go for the November 1st bridge) Now I turn to the sore notes: the food really a disaster (shame, scald, and repetitive) even the desserts always the same... I think so much was proposed in the space of a couple of days. Night often disturbed by rude customers in the grip of alcohol fumes... (Italians in the structure there were very few) more affluence from eastern countries. Reception staff rude and without empathy, English little understood. I commend the restaurant staff for kindness and helpfulness Would not stay there again and would not recommend

The hotel is well arranged , well-treed but a little old. It is located outside everything , from the beach (you can reach it by a shuttle every half hour ) , other hotels and shops . There is just a small shop for clothes , cigarettes, and trinkets as well as an ATM . The staff is available enough to help you especially if you tip them. The restaurant is average , it's kind of always the same especially for desserts . The rooms are quite clean and the bedding is of good quality but they are poorly soundproofed especially as the Germans are far from discreet and respectful. The pool is nice , you are offered a towel in exchange for the card that is given to you on arrival .
You can book your excursions with your tour operator on site , do not hesitate to negotiate the rates . Cairo excursion is very long 7h30 drive to go but worth the detour , made there by private bus which saves you some time , more comfortable and you have a private guide with you but more expensive For luxor it's closer you have to do it it's magic, like asking for a private bus. It would be a shame to go to Egypt and not do and not make the pyramids and the valley of kings .. For the one in Orange Bay you have two swimming spots in snorkel masks (we can lend them to you ) beautiful and resting on a beach arranged. No need to change your money into local currency everyone take the euros , plan enough money for your trip and enough small change because we often have the hand in the pocket .

Experienced New Year's Eve at Labranda Hotels. A dinner for no less than 2000 people. Really well organised. A week later another festival, white dress festival, again perfectly organized. Lunch is served at the beach. You have to take a shuttle bus (runs every half hour) travel time +/- 4 minutes, with an enthusiastic driver to another location belonging to the Labranda Chain. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet style. Dinner every evening with a different theme. Bedouin evening outside was also an experience, the second week a little colder due to the wind. (tip: bring a warm sweater or cardigan) There is an attempt to sell you an activity. Both at the hotel and on the beach. But if you weren't interested, they moved on. We did not experience it as irritating. The pool was very cold. The temperature outside was 24 degrees and the water was supposed to be 20 degrees, but it seemed much colder.

In the evening there was a barbecue outside. The cook at the barbecue felt it necessary to load the two Muslim women standing in front of me with fish. One a plate with more than 10 pieces of fish. The second with 2 plates with more than 10 pieces of fish per plate. The other tourists each got one or 2 pieces of fish per plate!!! This operation caused me to wait more than 5 minutes for a portion of fish in the cold and then eventually put my plate back without any fish. This is illegal!!!

Gin tonic and cocktails available at the beach including very good service. They also serve at the beach. Food truck with fresh pizza, oasta and burgers. You can't snorkel from the beach. You have to go by boat or swim to thev pier from the neighbour hotel (you can't go from that piercinto the water you'l then gave to pay. It is quiet during the night.
There are more places to choose from in the Makadi Bay area.
