The Makadi Palace Hotel garners acclaim for its friendly service and immaculate rooms and grounds, as many guests have called out the spotless and comfortable environment. Despite some reports of room service challenges and staff behavior around tips, the attentive service overall is a highlight for travelers. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, with ongoing improvements and entertainment that keep guests engaged. However, opinions on the hotel's value and amenities vary, with some confusion over drink pricing and concerns regarding maintenance and service quality. Room spaciousness is a plus, though there's a consensus on the need for updates.

After a flight delay, didn't arrive at the hotel until around 3am. The check in was done very quickly. We were given a box of food and shown to our room. Room was much bigger than I expected with a large outside terrace. Bathroom a little tired but shower worked great. The hotel grounds and pools are stunning and the staff work so hard to maintain these. Our room was spotlessly cleaned each day and towels turned into different animals. Beach towels replaced most days also. Never had a problem finding a sunbed, even on days we got out late. The bigger pool near the joker bar was the quieter pool and the sunset pool had the aqua aerobics/zumba and water polo which were all good fun. The weekly beach party was the best night of the week and would recommend going during your holiday. The drinks im resort were OK. The beer in the sunset bar was on draught and tasted much better than in the other bars. The lunch menu there was also good and the staff there never left you without a drink (especially the funny manager there) The staff are all friendly and everyone says hello and they work so hard. The food isn't the best and doesn't change much but there are always a lot of options. The lack of WiFi didn't bother me too much and if needed I just went to the lobby bar to check phone, not a problem. There are security gates at the entrance to the whole resort and even taxis aren't allowed in. I found this made it feel safe and that the hotel put safety first. We did get a stomach bug towards the end of our break but this wasn't severe and didn't stop us enjoying our holiday. I know there have been complaints about this hotel not being all inclusive but nobody forces you to spend anything extra. You can eat at the restaurants and just have water or stick to the buffets and have the all inclusive drinks. You will be offered massages/photos/restaurant bookings but you only have to politely say yes or no, there is no hassling. We did briefly visit the mall shops but was hassled and chased there by a shop owner, which put us off and we didn't return sadly. There is a shop onsite. We did haggle the prices in there and paid a reasonable price for a few gifts brought there. Overall we had a great holiday and didn't want to leave this beautiful place and would recommend

There were two in the double room. First we were offered a suite on the sea side, after a short intervention we were able to exchange it for a suite on the sunny side. The outdoor area is very spacious, always top maintained, inside the hotel is a little old, but still fine. The shower jet is unfortunately poor. Room service is also top and delights every evening with new shower towel creation. Tipping is the door opener to everything. The hotel's beach is picobello clean, even there the beach staff very accommodating.
Through ETI everything was perfectly organized, pick up at the airport in Hurghada including pick up and all transfers.
German is spoken throughout, otherwise you can get away with plain English relatively well.

The hotel has charm. We were satisfied. Beautiful architecture but a bit older. Daily room service cleaning + fresh towels + 2 liter bottles of water.
Large bed approx. 2x2m in the junior suite. Quiet air conditioning, large LCD TV.
Food in all directions, e.g. Sunset Grill near the beach has crispy burgers and fries, Melange buffet restaurant is mediocre, a la carte restaurants: Botanical Garden is great with no extra charge!! There are 5 more restaurants in the Mall Village, the best is Tam Tam. The waiters are nice, but expect a € tip. Endless sunshine and water 23 degrees, what more could you want....

Makadi Palace and other hotels in one but unfortunately you can't stay everywhere and there are no markings and above all it is not an all inclusive hotel the staff ask for tips for everything the drinks in the à la carte menu are not included and the same goes for orange juice at breakfast and it isn't even cheap. In the evening you can only drink while sitting down otherwise there is nothing - unless you can find a seat of course. We wanted to get a banana for our little daughter and they asked us for 3.5 euros. The hotel itself is quite old and we have the most expensive room but you can see for yourself in the photos. The beach was closed off that week and we were never able to go swimming. There is only one bottle of water in the room and nothing else and we aren't allowed to take it into the room. There is a taxi table in the lobby where we once ordered a taxi to the Senzomall shopping center and they asked for 30 euros but of course we didn't agree but in the end we got one for 15 euros so all tourists in this country are massively ripped off. The food was always the same. We had Italian food a la carte. The caprese salad was funny and the pizza was too salty, especially the cheese wasn't melted at all. In the evening there was Turkish kebab but it wasn't Turkish kebab, it was really dry. I love coffee and drink 5 coffees a day, but in Egypt that only happened once. I recommend another destination. I really regret the money I spent here.

We spent 2 weeks in Egypt in July,1 week at the makhadi palace and 1 week on a nile cruise and all i can say is thank god for the cruise as it was stunning. the hotel complex grounds and pools are stunning but that’s where it ends I’m afraid. It’s definitely not a 5 star hotel anymore I’d say more 2 stars. The rooms are falling to pieces, shower head broken so had to tie it up with an elastic hair band so the shower actually put the water on your body. Bath was cracked so was scared of cutting our feet everyday. Sink plunger was broken so couldn’t fill the sink for a wash or shave. Air con leaking water all over the floor and safe. The food was bland and repetitive and my wife had a terrible stomach bug whilst there, probably something she ate but we can’t be sure. drinks were a massive let down for an all inclusive hotel, beer served in tiny glasses and as flat as they come. You can get bottled beer but at an extra charge. Same with the cocktails, they were local syrup in a local spirit and that’s it, no garnish but you could have a ‘proper’ cocktail at an extra cost. Even ordering a coffee sometimes took 20 minutes for it to be brought to our table. Some of the staff at this hotel were really friendly whilst some were really rude. The beach towel guy that knocks on your door to exchange wet beach towels for clean ones just barged into our room and started turning down the bed whilst my wife was half naked in the bathroom trying to get changed and i had to literally push him out of our room as he wasn’t taking no for an answer.
One day we decided to book the Cairo flight trip to the museum and pyramids. As the minibus was picking us up at 3.30am our tour guide told us to book a wake up call which we did but decided to set our phone alarm as a back up and all i can say is I’m glad i did because we got no wake up call whatsoever which would have resulted in us wasting £420 on a trip we would have missed!
When i got to reception to complain the guy on reception just said he was having problems with the phones and walked off.i wasn’t going to leave it there so i asked him why no one could have knocked on our door if the phones were broken to which he then replied that he had rang our room 3 times and nobody answered. By the way nobody rang our room!.
If you didn’t get up and put your towels on a sunbed by 6.30 am everyday you had zero chance of relaxing by the pool resulting in us sitting on our balcony most days out of the sun.
Would never return to the makhadi palace unless it had a complete renovation.

We had high expectations of this hotel, unfortunately we were very disappointed. The service was unfriendly and unprofessional. At check-in, the staff were neither helpful nor friendly, which left a very bad first impression.

The rooms were in very poor condition: Furniture was worn and partially broken (box doors had broken out), mold on the bathtub curtain and fittings, bathtub floor was broken and sharp-edged. In addition, the cleanliness was not satisfactory – dust on the furniture and the bathroom also seemed unkempt.

The equipment also left much to be desired: The Wi-Fi was only available in the hotel lobby and even there was not always reception. Otherwise you should pay 25 euros per person if you wanted free Wi-Fi.
Also very disappointing was that on New Year's Eve we should suddenly pay for the restaurants and bars existing in the hotel, even though we had all inclusive.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. I hope that management will take these issues seriously and make improvements accordingly.

Very disappointing. Stunning on the outside but a different story on the inside.
I shall try to keep it as short as possible..
*Negatives
Rooms tired outdated and in need of upgrade especially the bathroom we had a broken bath no power from the shower and water temp intermittent.
Food tepid and very much geared up for other European travellers, this was the same for the evening music us British felt like outcasts.
Alcohol watered down and served in very small glasses then not filled to the top, we struggled most evenings to find somewhere to sit and be served.
Upon arrival we was allocated our room when opening the door we found that someone was all ready occupying and was laid on the bed. (Very embarrassing)
Sun beds all gone by 7am then no one on them all day very annoying..plenty of umbrellas but no beds to go with them.
Bed linen and bath towels grey and old .
Towels for sun beds faded and shabby looking.
The beach is poor not very good for snorkelling or swimming as the tide goes out in the afternoon.
Too much expectation on tipping from the staff .
Waiters poor job on cleaning tables (one waiter used someone else’s napkin to wipe out table)
*positives
Air-con and scenery in the lobby lovely (only place to get WiFi )
Reception staff helpful
We enjoyed the Italian restaurant in the Mall and nice to have other options to eat as the buffet restaurant on site is a free for all and food goes down fast.
View from our balcony was very nice
Waiter service on the beach a lot better than poolside.
Weather was brill

This is not a 5 star it’s a 3 (I have been to a few on my travels )
Very disappointing I would not recommend to others if you are looking for something special.

I can only join my previous speaker Nightflight .. we have been to Egypt many times but this hotel including service is the worst I have ever experienced...
For everything are charged , for expensive money €35/7days Wifi bought to it , which only works to some extent, on request at the reception, one was unfriendly..
The room is so worn out !! Plaster falls from the walls, The shower rod fell on my head this morning , the fitting broken , splash all corners and edges .. Bathtub is best entered only with bath slippers because sieved .. Rest of furniture old and upholstery faded ..
The food in the restaurants , is greatly in need of improvement!!! It makes me feel like I'm eating in our canteen at work , always the same only the day of the week shifts !!
You have the feeling that you are not welcome here as a guest !!
Especially if you read the other not so positive reviews , you have to say that nothing has changed here !!!
A scoundrel who thinks evil ..
Maybe ETI should reconsider such hotels where it only boils down to rip-offs..

I don't even know where to start. Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied. It started before the holiday even started. I wrote to the hotel and asked if I could have a room in block 5000. I was promised that I would get a room there. Of course, that wasn't the case. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that we would have to pay an additional €25 per night if we wanted a room in block 5000. Of course, I didn't accept this. After we were given a check card, we were never accompanied to the room. We had to see for ourselves where our room was. When we got to our room, the receptionist told us that we would get a nice room. If you call that nice, I don't know what nice is. On the floor, a handful of hair in the bathtub and behind the wastepaper basket in the bathroom, I think there is still a transparent hair tie that had been there for a week.

The employees were so-so, if you gave them a tip, they would speed off like a Ferrari. If you didn't give anything, they didn't even look at you. All the drinks were warm - cocktails, beer, cola, water. I have to say it was 50°C. In Egypt and we don't drink with ice cubes. Unfortunately, there wasn't a great selection of food either. The same vegetables, rice and type of meat or fish every day, which was always the same. Unfortunately, the pool was also very damaged, leaves in the pool and the loungers were also broken. We were particularly disappointed on the beach that it wasn't a real beach. And finally we came home and still had stomach problems. It was the first time I had booked with Eti and after this experience I unfortunately have to say that I don't know if I will do it again. I've been on many holidays, but never one as bad as this one.

6th time at this hotel, and we were greeted like old friendsI can't understand some of the really bad reviews on here,it has certainly never been my experience.the room was clean and well maintained, the service by all the staff was very good,i tipped for good service and i was never made to feel that i had to in order to get served.i always treat staff with respect, unlike some people who treat them as servants,no please no thank you.bear in mind that if you tip in euro's or £1 the staff can not bank it,so when one asks you to change £5/10 you know why,I always change them.
better to tip in egyptian pounds if you can,64 to £1
I was happy with the food before, but it is even better now,the "dome" was being refurbed last time we were there in april, and is now better laid out and modern.
the 2 a la carte restaurants the thai and the botanical are both highly recommended.fillet steak and duck spot on.drinks are included in both.
drinks are not included in the mall, outside the hotel, and if i was to critisize one thing it would be the price of drinks..5 euro's for a bottle of the same beer you get in the hotel.same bottle in a bar in hurghada is less than 2.*stella is not stella artois*it is local, still nice.£2.50 for fresh orange juice is ok.
in the mall I would recommend the chinese, french and italian.some items are extra charge, but there is plenty at no charge.
free wifi is only available in the air conditioned lobby bar,and the main complaint seems to be that you have to pay for drinks inside.....well there is a good reason for that.....if the drinks were free, everyone would be in there, and there wouldn't be any room!!!
i will be honest,we only really come for the snorkelling, which is fantastic, just walk along the seafront to waterworld/fort arabesque and you can walk in from a sandy beach.
..guy at the joker bar brought me a drink every time he saw my glass was nearly empty
recently we were there july(too hot) november, april and october....and we will look to go again in march/april.
we keep looking at other places, but we know what we get at the palace and are quite happy to return.
not many english come here, and a lot of the ones we have met there have all been a few times, lots of germans who are really friendly, the palace is so big and spread out that even when it's busy it seems quiet.
all i can say is that if you want a relaxing break at a nice hotel that is really good value for money this fits the bill.
a big thank you to all the staff for making our holiday an enjoyable experience...we may well be back soon.
if I help anyone with info feel free to ask.
