We arrived home this morning from our amazing stay at the Makadi Palace. There was 6 adults in our party, we were all in junior suites on the 3rd floor rooms 34** & had the most amazing views. Ok the rooms are tired & dated but are very comfortable with the most massive bed, the room cleaner was lovely & left us towel animals everyday. We had fresh warm beach towels brought to us every evening. We ate breakfast & dinner in the Dome which was always hot & edible with plenty to choose from & the waiters treated us good always finding us a table for the 6 of us. We also ate at the Botanical twice which was amazing food & lots of choice & my daughter ate at the Thai which she also said was amazing. The grounds are very well kept & are spectacular day & night with beautiful blue pools. The snorkelling from the beach is amazing we saw so many species of beautiful bright coloured fish but also an octopus & ray. You get pestered a lot in the beach but just say no thank you & off they go to the next person. The only negative we found were the reception staff apart from the young lad working the front desk on the 16/17 Jan he was very helpful. We found they were quite abrupt & very unhelpful regarding information on a breakfast box for 5 for an early start trip telling us we could get one then on day of trip they wouldn’t do it as we hadn’t booked the trip with them although we were all-inclusive. We also had a serious leak from our sink notified reception & nothing done then showed our room cleaner he’d fixed it within 2 hours. With all that said we would definitely stay here again & look forward to coming back (hopefully manage to book the same room)

First time visiting Egypt November 26/2021 and what a big disappointment. Stayed at the Makidi Palace five star all inclusive , I think that title is said more tongue in cheek. The reception is clean and tidy but this is the only place you can get free wi-fi unless you pay extra. The rooms are clean, expect to get pestered by the towel exchange and room cleaners when you return from the beach, towel exchange by the pool ?room decor is ok if you like lime green (15years) No tea/coffee in room. The Dome main restaurant is very basic and very dated poor quality food. Melange restaurant same again, took the watered down wine back, head waiter just shrugged his shoulders .Sun loungers on the beach are falling apart, pestered by sellers all day,the drinks are served in the smallest plastic cups,1 can between 3.Jokers Bar is a joke non alcoholic drinks served all night (more Complaining) bar staff only interested in selling you bottles of spirit to take back to your room. Entertainment is not free.dined mostly outside in the Mall more choice but you have to pay for your drinks. This hotel is geared for Eastern Block countries. If you add up all the extras you pay for you can go to Mexico or Jamaica all inclusive, Makadi Palace 5star i didnt think so,take a walk along the beach and you will see the difference

Makadi Palace good for: 1 Attractive, well-spaced buildings around clear blue swimming pools, restaurants and cafés 2 Attractive planting of trees and flowering shrubs: plenty of greenery 3 Mostly happy, helpful, local staff 4 We had a spacious, ground-floor room with balcony and terrace, and a very comfortable, huge bed 5. Snorkelling from the nearby jetty you can see a lot of coral and a hundred different, colourful fish species 6 Hot/warm weather and blue skies in November. Against: 1 Insufficient restaurant seating making dinner time a lottery 2 Tables get reserved by waiters for favoured guests though this is strongly denied 3 Egypt is not known for its cuisine. The hotel is patronised mainly by Germans and Russians who don't seem to mind the low quality of food 4 Expect Mummy's Tummy or the Pharaoh's Revenge. Don't rely on Imodium, the local pharmacy has the good stuff. 5 TV stations mostly Egyptian, German and Russian 6 Disappointing shopping trip/tour to Hurghada waisting time in their selected tourist outlets and only 40 minutes free in the town. Part of the trip is a visit to the Aquarium which includes a zoo. AVOID as their cruelty to animals is upsetting and the fish lack the vibrant colours of those in the sea. Book a taxi instead. 7 Disappointing snorkelling boat trip booked at the hotel. 2 x short snorkelling sessions allowed with fewer fish and corals than just outside the hotel; and an hour on a beach surrounded with plastic litter 8 What does "All inclusive" mean? You can have wifi in your room (at an extra cost). It's free in reception but here, if you want a cup of decent coffee or a beer it's an extra cost. Beware if ever asked for your room number.

We stayed at the palace for the 22nd time. We always knew this stay would be a little different than the prior visits. Under the existing world conditions. It was a little different especially with the Mahara club missing , but I can honestly say other than a few restaurants not being opened yet., we had an amazing holiday . The staff worked so hard to make sure ourselves and other holiday makers were looked after. The food was great and hot and all the staff seemed happy for us to return to the palace from the Uk. It was my birthday whilst there and the staff in the Discovery made it very special again as usual, The weather was amazing for November into December. Our room in block 5 was cleaned as normal to a high standard no complaints there at all. A special Thankyou to our great friend Wael Bakr who looks after us , Mr Hatim and team . Mr Hany and staff in the Dome , Hamby and his team from Discovery , the lads in the piano bar, and to all the staff too many names to remember . Hopefully we will return again in March , ( fingers crossed) so Thankyou to all the management and staff at the Makadi Palace hopefully Mahara club will be open on our next visit … Take care and stay safe all the best for 2022 Shirley and Anthony knowles 🙏 .

I have just visited this hotel and have stayed at many others previously in Egypt. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the hotel is very relaxing and peaceful. The snorkelling is amazing and right off the beach seen octopus, rays, eels and so much more so many colourful fish in abundance which kept us entertained for hours. In the main the staff were really friendly and helpful some were exceptional. The negatives to this hotel are that the rooms whilst spacious were very tired and had serious issues with insects and mosquitos but the cleaner did assist us with this. The alcohol was not the best but I could drink the wine which was ok. Not good on the beach if you wanted a beer as they constantly had run out and it was a very small cup if you were lucky enough to get one, it was a little shack not even a beach bar, I don't drink much but do expect a drink when on the beach all day. Food was lovely in the botanical restaurant but the main buffets were pretty bad and no covid rules which I found abit slack. No gloves to put on when picking up serving spoons etc which I have had in previous places, not good in a pandemic. All in all had a fab holiday in the sun but it could have been better with just little things but the snorkelling made up for my negatives. You definately need to sort out the beach bar though that is pretty bad for an all inclusive beach holiday.
