The Grand Makadi Hotel is a lively destination with the needs of younger families firmly at its heart. There is a large sweeping beach, and a jetty that takes guests directly to the house reef where they can enjoy snorkelling in the crystal clear Red Sea waters. The large swimming pool and sun terrace offer plenty of space for sunbathing, and the children’s club and sporting activities keep the children occupied. It was one of the best holidays. The hotel had everything you need, it was very clean and the stuff (specially the animators) were very kind, funny, friendly and helpful. You have lots of opportunities outside as well. I'm sure i will come again. Best regards from Brcko!

We have just came back from Grand Makadi in Egypt and we could not have had better holidays.
The place is beautiful, clean, well organized, the food is tasty and delicious, specially the Lebanese and the Caribbean restaurants, the drinks are very good, but the true stars are the staff.
They make you feel welcomed, attended every need promptly, are courteous, helpful and don't measure efforts to provide you with everything you wish, always with a smile in their faces.
We have had a room closer to the beach, beautiful view, charming coral reefs for snorkeling, although the weather was not extremely hot as it was winter time, it was sunny practically all week long, they also do have a heated pool with swim up bar that was our safe heaven.
We would definitely come back one day and we recommend to every single person to do it too.

My husband and I returned 2 days ago form our holiday. We stayed for the first time at this hotel and we are very pleased. It s proximity to the airport makes it very easy to reach(only 30minutes buss shuttle). It is also not so far from the famous Vally of the Kings in Luxor, and we had a one day trip there. On our return we were happy to find that we could have late diner at 22.00. That was the best. It has a wide heated pool so that people can enjoy even when its not so hot outside. The room was perfect, clean and beautifully decorated. We definitely recommend it for a relaxing holiday. The staff was friendly and made us feel at home.

This is the second visit to Hurghada I stayed at the Red Sea Hotels complex at the sister hotel next door Sunwing back in June 2019 and thought we would stay a the grand malady because it had the pier and looked quite nice.

Only major issue with the hotel was the lack of variety of food. Very poor choices for vegetarians and not much variation day to day, pretty much the same thing everyday which can get boring. So i would suggest trying other restaurants at the mall.

Rooms are dated. We had a issue in the room with a broken shower - took reception 6 hours to fix after countless calls i was promised a fix but nothing ever happened.

One other annoying thing is that staff are constantly trying to sell you extras which is annoying if you just want a peaceful relax on the beach or meal by the pool.

Other than that staff mean well and are exceptionally friendly.

Will probably try a different hotel next time.

Our goal is that they return home and have had a pleasant holiday. We have many guests visiting us two or three times a year, so we believe we have taken the right path. There are issues that, despite our efforts, we can not resolve to the satisfaction of our guests, which is rare. Stayed 1 week. On arrival toilet soiled which i had to clean no soap in bathroom. Cleaning poor in room towels were not changed each day. Poor lighting in very tired rooms .Asked for tea making items but chargeable!waiter forgot our main meal in the island resterant then asked had we finished we waited over an hour for main meal. Buffet in the lagoon poor cold food not very good selection.birds flying around and landing on the buffet food inside.
Dont serve beer on the beach you have to goto the starfish beach bar at the far end of complex. Waiter service poor after tipping. Good in the area outside reception.Supposed to be 5star but we think 3. Worst hotel we have stayed in in eygpt and weve stayed in many

This trip was a let down.
Pool was worn out and ice cold.
However it was winter there so I guess in highseason its fine.

Drinks was limited and not so good quality.
Half food of all inclusive is not all inclusive and has very low standard.
Example fresh pressed orange juice was extra charge at breakfast! So fountain juice it was.

But there is a good mix of places to eat.
Italian and Lebanese was fine!
Lunch at starfish was probably the best lunch option. In evenings the seafood menue is quite pricy and fish tastes like mud. But still recomend to see the local dance show on Wednesdays.

Buffets are not so good.

The little cafe between beach and pool is a fine snack place with a very good staff and funny.

Staff was really nice overall in restsurants and event people but the reception had some attitude problems and english barriers. Manager was understanding and friendly. But even after the talk the receptionists still glared at u as if u was the plague. And communication between them was non excistent.

This hotel is more aimed for German tourists. Since staff speaks more German than English.

Id go again if the place was free which its not.
Sadly I wont rebook a visit there again.
But if u wanna book go for it!
Just dont expect supreme standards.
Location at the ocean is fine.

Me and my daughter have just returned from our holiday. Thank god we did not spend much time in the hotel as we booked almost every day different day trip , all amazing and well organised.

First day we found out that the only place you could have free wife was in the lobby, A 5* hotel with no wife facility 😳😳 we paid £35 to have wife for 2 devices which in our room didn’t work and we actually never used it. someone came to fix it in our room , and he did it for couple of hours)

The second day in the morning we had a meeting with the our tour guide, very helpful Ahmed , we booked every single day a different trips and we loved them all !This was our only full day that we spend at our hotel

Our third day , after having a lovely breakfast, we were rushing to go to our room to get quickly ready for our safari tour, we found our Male housekeeper cleaning our room, so we decided to wait for him outside in our terrace. When he finished I did approach him to give few dirty glasses and I seen he had taken my 19 years old daughter’s used bikini. He gave them to me by apologising and just left …. I never had such an experience in my life , that was creepy and very scary

Me being in a different country by myself with a 19 years old daughter, I was scared and i didn’t know what to do …. My first thought was I need to protect my child from a maybe a psycho who has access to our room .

I said to the receptionist that we did not want any one to clean our room anymore and explained the reason why … he just said ok like it was a normal thing and promised that they will move him to another area to clean ( which was no true ) every time was leaving our hotel was scared to face him as he was around my room.

On our last day the reception manager came with a random justification by saying it was a misunderstanding and he actually didn’t want to take the bikini he just took it by mistake 😳 and he actually believes him as he is a good employee and knew him for a very very long time 🤷🏼‍♀️

We pride ourselves on the high standards of service that we provide, that our guests enjoy and have come to expect from our establishment. The experience you have indicated is very unlike us, and certainly does not reflect our usual operations and service. Your description of the unfortunate incident which happened with the room boy is misleading and does not reflect the reality on how the incident occurred. While the room boy was collecting the dirty linens from the room he accidentally collected by mistake a bikini inside the bed linen, this issue very rarely happens but unfortunately it occurred as a human error. Immediately on discovering his mistake the room boy knocked the door to apologize and returned the bikini back to you. You personally contacted the Reception to confirm that you did not want to have the room cleaned for a personal reason, our Reception staff tried to understand why but at the same time they have to respect your wish for the room not to be cleaned. One day before check out, you once again asked the Front Office Manager to just change your room towels, and once again he tried in establish the reason why you requested not to have room service (daily cleaning of your room), but again you did not want to explain so we were unable to assist you. During our long history of excellent hospitality we have welcomed many families and guests from all over the world accompanied with their children and teenagers. Your review does not give the reality of the unfortunate incident, and has caused anxiety and concern to all of our staff who work tirelessly around the clock to ensure every guest has the most enjoyable holiday during their stay with us. The Management of the Hotel aims to provide a high quality service to all of our guests, and will do their utmost and very best to assist any guest should they encounter any issue during their stay. However, your review does not reflect the whole truth and reality of the actual incident that unfortunately occurred nor does it explain the concern and care shown by our staff nor of the assistance we attempted to offer you that you declined and refused to accept. Stayed for a two week holiday.
Overall impression of the hotel was, it was excellent, the room was fabulous with a pool and sea view. The cleaner was amazing, all bedding and towels were changed daily and he made sure that you had a supply of bottled drinking water.
The food was good, the breakfast buffet had a good selection and as soon as anything was running low a fresh supply was brought immediately. The lunchtime selection was also very good, you had a choice from a few different area’s and again I had no problem finding something tasty to eat.
There were several different restaurants that you had to book a table for but as I traveled alone I stuck to the main buffet restaurant which again had a very wide choice of dishes.
The hotel itself was very well presented. The gardens and pools were a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the fabulous hurghadan weather.
The hotel staff from the hotel manager to the gardeners were all very helpful and pleasant. Would I holiday here again…. Without hesitation, I would definitely recommend. I had a wonderful time and hopefully in a few weeks I’ll be booking to return.

First the Positive Points - Really long, and nice and long to float along with the current-reef.
Pretty picturesque Buildings and Gardens, with integrated Mall and Bazar,
Long Promenade to walk along other Hotel Complex' .
Matrace fairly ok. Shower working hot and cold every day.
Good Roomsize. Especially Bathrooms more than a bit run down.

Negative .. cleanliness: at least sometimes no change of sheets and blanket between guests changing, within 10 days only changed once after asking and Tip.
Room inviting but run down and old, maybe that's Egyptian cleanliness,
EG No Cleaning of Doors, Doorframes Tiles on the Bathroomwall, Table or Terrace maybe once per week.

OK Food, but also here Cleanliness of Tables, Plates and Forks or especially Spoons could be better. No small spoons seem to be avail in whole Hotel. People presenting Food cannot speak English, whole staff, a view professional and friendly - the Rest only after given Tip. Some really angry and always annoyed People amongst it.
Variety of Food ok, no recommendation for Vegan or Vegetarians.
Negative: Can be infectious. Sure not to every body, but ... seriously not ok so far.

Drinks, would not recommend the all in so called juices or Cocktails,
a bit filthy filling up the Spenders.
Everywhere a thinner or thicker Layer of Dirt on.

Beach: No sandy Beach to walk in, Just along the Reef, a bit higher than
and with big and rough stones as Borders. Only few Ways into the Water and
then to walk some Minutes over the Riifs Roof, or try the Jetty for going directly to the deeper Water, but very often Red Flag out and nobody's allowed to go to the Water.
You llhave to leave the Beach before 6 pm .. no sunset view.

Animation exists, Music: old Hits, Shows not worth to see. & evening Programs for Children, yes.

Not even 3 Star Hotel, compared to southern Europe, maybe 2+ Stars All inclusive Hotel.

Makadi Grand is a nice hotel with a nice reef for snorkelling. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pools need some TLC, along with bathrooms.Good choice of restaurants. Just be careful of the advertised trips. They are now what they seem. Sahara safari was awful. Riding of camels and horses were for 2mins at best, and only being led by a kid. The sand buggies break down and they have hidden costs for scarves and goggles.
