Nothing in this world is perfect, but the family experience at Jaz Makadina is the closest we can get: Accommodation: our air-conditioned rooms were distributed in several areas around the swimming pool and the (very) beautiful garden. This is my 8th time in Egypt and I just want to show you the advantages and disadvantages of the hotel (comparison to Makadi Spa, Makadi Palace, JAZ-Aquamarine, Pickalbatros Palace Port Ghalib). The hotel is a bit smaller than the neighboring hotels and is right on the beach. The rooms are typical Jaz, everything works, maybe a bit old-fashioned but and the bathroom is a bit cramped for 2 people, but completely sufficient for a vacation. The gardens are very well maintained and really pretty. The shows are sometimes good to normal, no theater, they are performed on the terrace at the bar. The gym is very small, but when I was there there was only a maximum of 3 people in it, but no more fit in. Animation and vendors very unobtrusive, they ask once and if they say no they immediately move on. Nice, the pool towels are in a bag in the room and the room service changes the towels in the evening if requested
Advantages:
- Great buffet, in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening there is an extremely large selection and very high quality (so far the best buffet of all hotels), there is also a nice beach restaurant open at lunchtime, where they serve pizza, burgers, pasta, etc. In the evening there is always a charcoal grill (2 dishes) in the restaurant 3-4 freshly prepared dishes (duck, fish, steak, turkey, veal knuckle, etc. very varied)

The jetty is more for motorboats and you have to walk a long way through the sea to be able to snorkel. The reef is also very small. - The loungers at the pool and especially on the beach are set up very close together. The beach is used by all the hotels and there is very little space. - The bottled wine is extremely expensive. For example, a bottle of "Jardim du Nile" costs €30. At the Steigenberger Cairo we paid €25 for this in the evening with breakfast, in the shop it costs €6. The management should consider offering more reasonable prices. In other hotels there is something like €10 per bottle as an extra charge, so almost no one uses the extra charge service for bottled wine.
Conclusion: if you like good food and want to relax, this is the right place. If you value snorkeling in the hotel and a large fitness area, you should choose another hotel. We were very happy for 1 week, but 2 weeks would be too boring for us.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel set in well tended gardens sitting right on the beach, staff were all very helpful and friendly although some did ask for tips whilst serving you. The reason I have only given the place two stars is due entirely down to the poor quality of the food and drinks, as this is an all inclusive hotel and there are only a couple of independent restaurants close by you have to eat at the hotel. The drinks, wine and beer were often not cold in fact the wine was occasionally warm. The food was bland and it was difficult to find a combination of items that went together to make a complete meal, it was also when we ate towards the end of a sitting Luke warm, if you offer a service for several hours the food should be as good for the late eaters and the early ones. Even the fruit was of poor quality melon hard and tasteless if not good.We were asked by a lady round the pool, a member of staff, if everything was ok and we told her our thoughts on the food and she said she would discuss it with the exec chef who we saw many times wandering around perusing his domain think his time would be better spent in the kitchens planning and checking meals were worth serving. One special mention to the guy who cleaned our room every day he did a really great job and checked with us that we were happy with his work, he also amused us with a different towel sculpture of a different animal each night now he was worth a tip when we left and he never once asked us for one.

We recently stayed at Jaz Makadina, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! This hotel truly exceeded our expectations in every way.
The resort itself is stunning, with beautifully maintained gardens, a gorgeous beach with crystal-clear water, and a fantastic pool area. The atmosphere is peaceful and perfect for relaxation, yet there are also plenty of activities for those who want to stay active.

We have returned from a 2 week stay at Jaz Makadina and on the whole had a fantastic holiday overall. We are two adults and 2 children, boy aged 8 and girl aged 2. I have scored it 4 stars because there are lots of positives however there are a few issues which impacted my score of a 5, although some of this is circumstantial.
Positives- - The grounds are beautiful and spacious and well maintained - The pool area, rooms, grounds, restaurant and seated areas are very clean - Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels - The staff were all very friendly - The entertainment team try very hard and a friendly - The pools are large and good for young children also - The food is varied and plentiful for adults - Drinks were good - The hotel is a sustainable hotel and you are provided with bottle water in the room daily - The bathroom had a large shower which was powerful. - No sunbed wars and plenty of sunbeds to choose from. - Great location next to a number of shops, supermarket, restaurants and pharmacy - Water park is a 5 minute drive a way on the shuttle bus. You get food and drink included and can you when ever you want to. - The beach is nice and clean and at the edge of the hotel - Makadi Bay feels very safe and as a woman I was able to wonder round alone without feeling worried. - You can barter in all the shops - Main beds and pillows are very comfortable - Rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard - Waiters are super friendly and helpful - Big Shout Out to pancake man, omelette man and bbq man
Negatives- - The sofa beds in the family room are very uncomfortable and you can actually feel the tiled base when you are lay down. - The rooms lack storage, whilst there is a wardrobe and some shelving it is minimal for a family of 4. - The family rooms have a double bed and an area with two sofa beds with a curtain, quite cramped for a family room. - The hotel has majority German or Arabic speaking guests which meant that my son struggled to make any friends. This is not a fault of the hotel but something that impacted our holiday. - During our stay all 4 of us came down with sickness and dioreah, significant enough for myself and my husband to need to spend a day each in the hotel room and numerous days after this eating very little. - The food choices for children are limited - The day time activities for children are limited and although there is a notice board I witnessed very little encouragement from the entertainment staff to participate with the exception of the Olympic day.
Overall we had a great holiday however I'm not sure I would return with children.

Recently returned from a vacation at the Jaz Makadina Hotel, and I want to share my experiences! 🍽️ The food here is just wonderful – every day a variety of food that will satisfy even the most choosy gourmets. I always found something new and delicious. Animation is high! I want to mention especially the guys Cheetos and Sunny – they are real professionals in their business. Always friendly and friendly, they create an atmosphere of fun and positivity. In general, all hotel staff do their best to create a feeling of warmth and comfort. 😊 The hotel rooms are always clean, cleaning is done every day, which is very pleasing. It is also worth noting the beautiful and well maintained grounds of the hotel - it is nice to walk and enjoy nature. And, of course, the sea! First of all, the service we received from the minute we arrived was so attentive, and this continued throughout our entire holiday. Every single member of staff goes above and beyond to make your holiday the best it can be, and they also made a big effort with our 2.5 year old which was wonderful. We loved the entertainment team who really bring the energy and fun every day, and the service from every staff member really makes you feel like VIP guests.
The hotel activities are some of the best we’ve seen in an all-inclusive hotel, especially the kids club activities, and there are opportunities to mix with other hotel guests too for fun competitions.
The food is AMAZING and so delicious. There’s so much choice at every meal time and access to food at literally any hour of the day, if you happen to be feeling peckish. I don’t eat meat but do eat fish, and upon being asked for some feedback one day, I commented that if I was 100% veggie I might appreciate a couple more dinner options. This was a comment made purely in observation and not at all a negative, but from that moment on the chef personally make every effort to check I had enough options and was happy, even offering to cook me something special. Like I said - the staff go above and beyond!
The hotel itself is pristine, well maintained and generally beautiful. We discovered it’s probably the smallest along the beachfront here, which we were very happy about. It has a boutique comfortable feel and you feel very much at home. The beach is right there, one of the pools is heated which is great for kids, there are shops nearby if there’s anything you might need (like extra nappies, for example). The water park down the road is also a great way to shake things up and do something different. The shuttle bus picks you up just outside the hotel and it’s free. Entry to the water park is free and all the food and drinks are also included, which we thought was brilliant!
We honestly can’t wait to come back here and will be bringing other family members too. After 10 days, we are wishing we had booked longer. 1000% recommend this hotel.

The kind staff were able to give us a room with a spectacular view of both sea and pools. The beach is truly a rare gem - i.e. one that is sandy, but also clear and calm enough for snorkelling around reefs directly from the beach. Sure most of the coral is dead, but there is some wonderful varieties of fish to see. The a la carte meal was quite tasty. The buffet food was fairly typical resort quality (mediocre), but the variety was good. We enjoyed the evening fire show and the music band was quite talented and good for dancing. The general layout of resort was really well done, with pleasant landscaping despite the desert environment. (We had to hunt for the quietly hidden jacuzzis!).
This is not the hotel's fault, but travelers should be aware of a strange Uber problem. Getting to hotel from airport with Uber was no problem and cost just $6. But when trying to return to airport after stay, we had multiple drivers through the Uber app insist that the prices in Uber were outdated and we would need to cancel the reservation and pay them 15 Euros in cash to take them. It's a strange mafia-like racket going on that the city or Uber will need to deal with, as it was our only negative experience. Eventually we agreed to the (way overpriced) hotel car for 25 euro, just to avoid getting in an Uber car that would be "off the books" and thus not tracked for safety reasons.

The best and cleanest hotel I ever visited in Egypt,and this is already my visit number 12 in Egypt...service at bars, beach, restaurants: 100%, great fun with animation team, good shows in the evening and food is just excellent. Room service is unbelievable, comparable to concierge and if you want nice room with sea view, go for numbers 100-110...Also,great location of the hotel next to jetty, fully recommend snorkeling trip by Catamaran, or diving or whatever you prefer. Beach is excellent, sea is clean, and Makadina is not a secluded hotel, you can walk in either direction and have a nice walk also.
