2nd time this year and i loved it as much as i did in the summer. Our room was spotless as per usual. The food was amazing like it was in the summer The staff ,just think they are great We took advantage and used all the other hotels pools and bars and restaurants.(this is when after eating in the other hotels, you realise how good the food in the spa is also the drinks) People will moan about the tiles in the pools its the same in all the hotels What people must understand is what is 5 stars in other parts of the world will not be the same as in Egypt Every country has it own 5 star standards and this hotel is 5 stars for Egypt The only realy tiny advice i will mention, is don't put the butter in ice in the winter months, but you over come this by putting it on top of toaster while waiting for your toast Got this hotel already booked for june and will be looking at it again for October next year Perfect hotel in perfect location with amazing staff

I have been here twice - and will be returning again. Great hotel. Great beach. Nice feeling. Book the resturants - the buffé-one is so and so. But the ones you can book - thats included in the all inclusive is much better. The service is great - but the waiters is somewhat passive and slow sometimes. That could be improved upon.

Fantastic 2 weeks in a relatively quiet adult only beach location! Our basic Junior Suite, large comfortable king size bed, lounge area with sofa, coffee table, wall mounted TV, phone, safe, fridge (with cokes, Fanta Orange, bottled water), a kettle basic tea/coffee making facilities take your own, no milk. Spacious bathroom, twin sinks, walk in shower room with bath, separate toilet room. Hair dryer and basic toiletries (no shower cap or cotton wool pads). Always hot water, Towels changed daily. 12 coat hangers, plenty of wardrobe space. 2 beach towels changed daily by cleaner at around 4 o’clock. Large recessed balcony with 2 reclining sun beds and table plus a smaller outside balcony with 2 chairs. No wifi in rooms. The hotel spotlessly clean and well maintained. All staff worked hard and a special mention must go to Ahmed Abd Elmonaem who worked tirelessly with a big smile serving drinks all day by the pool. Glasses cleaner guy cleaned our glasses daily, provided cold face flannels and will give you a refreshing cucumber face mask. No rush for sunbeds, always free beds. The food in the main buffet restaurant was average, but highly recommend each day to go to the hotel Lobby where you can book any of the 6 specialist restaurant 2 days in advance, with no limit on how many times you go to any of the restaurants, and they were all excellent. We particularly enjoyed the Eygptian restaurant La Pasha, and the entertainment there. Drinks not permitted in room from the bars.

Prior to coming out to this hotel my wife emailed 3 times to enquire about various things and Facebook message twice ,but we didn't get one reply, now let's start, lots of add-on supplements, for good cocktails, coffees 5 euro, use of gym 5 euro per day, tennis courts, beach sunbeds 15 euro per day, also we had a special evening BBQ 18 euro (was the same food and drink that was being offered in the other outlets) tried to get a refund on this F&B said no way,now the room ,very spacious,Aircon not working, hardly any hot water and very low pressure takes over an hour to fill bath, very low on toiletries,30ml shampoo,30ml shower gel per person for two weeks, toilet paper, have to keep asking for more or take from public toilets, the room could do with a through deep clean lots of mould growth in bathroom, dust on pictures and lamps ,had a meeting with 3 managers ,still nothing sorted, also the pools are not HEATED they are absolutely freezing (middle of November) the choice of restaurant's is very good, but the majority of staff don't look very happy to be there (saved me a fortune on tips). We also have use of the other 2 Red sea hotels which are nearby, and this was definitely the better one(which isn't saying much) we have been to hurgarda and makadi bay 8 time's now and can honestly say that overall this is the worst hotel we have stayed in and is probably only 3 STAR , have been here 8 days now the air conditioning system still not working properly, the bed linen hasn't been changed yet, spoke to customer services again today, but still nothing gets sorted, took 9 days before house keeping changed the bed linen, and that was only after we stripped the bed and left it in a big pile by the door ,by the way we also spent another 4600 Egyptian pounds on extras in an ALL-INCLUSIVE RESORT for two people,so now it's time to go to post something on TripAdvisor

This was our second visit to Makadi Spa and we returned because it is a very decent all inclusive hotel. Is it 5 star compared to western hotels? No. However, it is on a par with some all inclusive Caribbean hotels for which you pay double the amount. We were given an upgraded room on arrival for 3 days, which I suspect was due to the Thomas Cook situation, and the fact we arrived 3 days later than originally booked. This jacuzzi suite was supposed to cost €200 per night and for those thinking of upgrading it is not worth the money as all you got was a bigger balcony, better view and outside bath. We also found that the room service was very poor on this higher floor and the bedding had seen better days. There was also no dressing table and limited number of clothes hangars. We were extremely happy to be downgraded to the standard suite which seemed to be cleaner overall. My biggest bugbear with both rooms was the disgusting toilet brushes which need replacing . Yuk. Food was good in most of the al la carte restaurants. Our favourite being La Pasha and the fish. The steak was probably the worst overall for food unless you wanted to pay up to €35 surcharge for a better cut. We also enjoyed the Spanish but unfortunately our table was too near the bar area and smoke kept wafting over. This leads me to my next issue; smoking. There are so many people smoking around the pool, at restaurants and in the bars which, if you are a non smoker is off putting. The hotel has tried to segregate, but unfortunately, they can’t help the way the wind blows. There was a lot of maintenance going on outside the hotel but they do need to address the missing mosaic pool tiles. Last year it was not an issue but this year so much more noticeable. It was interesting that some of the other hotels on the complex did not seem to have tiles missing. They need to close one pool at a time and fix them. The alcoholic drinks were not great and the wine seemed to be watered down. As we are not big drinkers, then it was not really a problem for us. The staff here are very good and always eager to help with the exception of one manager in the fish restaurant. Overall, this hotel is very quiet, with minimal entertainment at night. No noisy entertainment team either during the day to spoil the peace and tranquility. The majority of guests tend to be older, retired couples of German, British or Eastern European nationality. Would we come back again? Probably, as long as standards do not slip any further which we felt they had compared to last year.
