The floor around the pools is very slippery you must take care to avoid falling when walking other than that the place is good the beach is good and wide the food is nice the playing area is okay the service is good
Wonderful hotel, 30 minutes south of Hurghada Airport, lovely and clean beach with top snorkeling spot, friendly employees, gastronomic restaurant (Waterfront), first class Spa and Fitness Center (special thanks to the coach Nemo), very clean room xith terrace and great sea view.
Beautiful hotel with spacious gardens very well maintained. I enjoyed the beach for relaxation and the staff were very helpful. The main restaurant has many choices, the cakes are an art form and delicious. Although there were few other English speaking tourists and staff at this hotel, I had a fantastic time in Egypt and a very comfortable stay at Cleopatra Luxury Resort and would love to go back again.
Had a fantastic 9 days with family of 4 (kids aged 13 & 10). Family room gave us great space - kids able to have separate rooms. Very safe campus, so we could let the kids roam with freedom. Room was two mins walk from activities pool. So much to do for the kids - activities pool offers inflatables from 1000 - 1200 & 1500 - 1700 everyday. During the afternoon there's also beach volleyball and waterpolo. Water centre also offers a range of sea based activities - we took the kids parasailing and they absolutely loved it. We took the all inclusive deal, which included local beer, wine and some cocktails - more than enough for us. Food was very good - something for everyone. We had one complimentary meal at the Italian restaurant - plenty of options on the menu. The staff were fantastic, so helpful. My only recommendation is that the client liaison desk should operate outside of the 0900 - 1700 hours. Many people are away on day trips between these hours, which makes it very hard to make plans. Would suggest someone is available in the evenings, as well. Evening events in the amphitheatre are 2130 each night - the light show was very impressive but the rest were mixed.…
I feel this warrants quite a lengthy review, so this is for the people like myself who like to do their research before going somewhere. I am going to write a lot so I hope this is helpful to anyone who fancies a good read. Firstly, the staff were all very professional and couldn't have been nicer to me as a solo traveller throughout my stay. They were all very friendly and welcoming, by the time I left it felt like they all knew my name and it was almost hard to say goodbye! The hotel is exceptionally well organised and run, it was like a first class experience. Very safe and secure as a complex too. Lots of staff and security always visible and at hand. The 'adults only' bit is a slightly closed off complex right on the beach near the Extra Divers diving club. It's a clever layout because the pool area is one floor up and wrapped around by the buildings, so it's a major sun-trap with no wind or noise and absolutely nobody harassing you! There is a bar by the pool and a dedicated pool area attendant. It even has it's own mini-reception staffed during the day. This is definitely the place to be if you're looking for a quiet and relaxed place to stay and feel pampered. The main restaurant is just downstairs right on the beach. It's worth pointing out that this is a very exclusive part of the resort, guests from the adults-only part get free roam of the rest of the resort but nobody can come into this part, so this keeps the numbers down and contributes to the quiet and relaxed atmosphere. I had booked a junior suite all-inclusive but was upgraded to a master suite on arrival. The accommodation was beautiful, two large rooms, one being a lounge with a dining table, bathroom and balcony, the bedroom was equally as large with it's own balcony, lots of storage and the master bathroom. TVs in both rooms! The king-size bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Cleaning was every day and very good. The room service menu was very cheap too. Basically incredibly good value for what you get. Food and drink were excellent and really made the experience! The Waterfront restaurant opens for the 3 meal times, you have the option of picking from a huge selection of prepared food, all sat behind glass in hot serving trays which the chefs serve up for you, so very fresh and hygienic! You can help yourself to freshly baked rolls and bread or condiments but this is not a buffet with food sat there all day going off or being touched by other people! In the evenings you can ask for the a la carte menu if you prefer. Waiters still come and look after you, bringing you drinks and making sure everything is ok, so you get the best of both worlds. One of the nights was 'Arabian Nights' themed, where they had a grill and the food was all authentic. I wished they had that food available every day because it was amazing. It was a great bit of fun too, room service leave a full-length arabic robe for you to wear and everyone shows up getting into the spirit. A rare appearance of the animation team gave a brief display of belly dancing to music for about 10mins then it goes back to the soothing quiet jazz in the background. It's a very nice restaurant, Ramy and his staff obviously take a lot of pride in what they do. My only slight comment about the food is that the cooked breakfast options didn't have things more familiar to a Brit or American, but seeing as I was the only English person there I don't think that's surprising. The majority of guests were German, Austrian or Swiss (which I like personally), so you can expect more European styles, but still very nice and almost too much to choose from. If you stay for a long time you won't run out of new things to try. A few notes to add. If, like me, you wanted to make diving a major part of your holiday, my room was probably about 1 minute away from the diving club, I just had to walk down some stairs and it's there! It's a professional outfit, you can hire everything, get qualified instructors and guides and be out on the boats every day or just go diving in the bay whenever you wish. The Red Sea is beautiful. Also right there is the adults only area of the beach which is very well separated from the main resort, plus it has a great little beach bar where you can socialise with your dive buddies at the end of the day. Looking at the photos on here, I did worry that the hotel would feel a bit sparse and dated, but it's not at all. It's spacious which is a good thing, it's exceptionally neat and tidy. The tiled areas around the pools are all spotlessly clean, you would feel comfortable walking bare-foot all day. The gardens, lawns and walkways are all immaculate too. I spent my last day around the main area of the resort and, while not as luxurious as the adults only area, it was still a very decent modern place with it's own ampitheatre, shopping centre, tennis courts, gym and spar. I think on returning I would probably visit the main hotel parts a bit more. Finally, again the staff, can't credit them enough. Some Europeans among them, but full credit to the Egyptians! Speaking fluent English and German, and some of the nicest people you could meet! If you go to Makadi bay, go there and have a great time.…
Very comfortable place to stay. Lovely choice of food, drinks and activities. Staff mostly very helpful and friendly. Internet access isn’t great in the rooms - seems to be only reliable in reception. Concierge could have been a little more helpful and friendly. Her hours were limited to 9am-5pm, however she wasn’t always there that early or late. For a location where many guests are out during the day, 9-5 doesn’t seem like sensible hours. But overall our 6 day stay was excellent and the price represented good value for money.
Since discovering Cleopatra in 2016 I’ve been many times and my next trip is already booked - that alone probably says more than a lengthy review! But to expand a little: The hotel has very large grounds so feels very spacious even when approaching full capacity, and the gardens are very well maintained, the flowers and trees are a delight. Rooms are large, comfortable and have everything you need. There are a number of pools, my favourite is the heated pool, there are plenty of sun loungers. The food is very good, with the option of an a la carte Italian meal included per stay. The animation team run many activities throughout the day and good evening entertainment. The best feature of the hotel is the staff, so good at their jobs, hard working and friendly, absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. Flowers put in my room by the cleaner, a drink waiting on the bar by the time I’d walked across the room, special off-menu drinks made when the standard cocktails didn’t appeal - little touches of personal service which make a good hotel outstanding. I can’t wait to go back.…
It's a big yes for the Cleopatra. The room we had in the adult section was a delight: high quality interior with sea view from wide balcony and right next to pool, bars, jacuzzi and restaurant and private beach for that area with full access to the rest of the hotel. The buffet food was high quality as was all aspects. Special praise goes to Mr Whahid the manager of the spa, the super friendly and kind diving guide from the hotel's diving centre, the charming man who drove us in a buggy to our room when we arrived and fixed a number of things to facilitate and the on site pharmacist. The diving centre were highly professional as well as inspiring when it came to choices and taking the plunge. The spa is stunning, so much on offer, all high quality and Mr Whahid is the epitome of charm and efficiency.…
Had a week in February at cleopatra luxury resort Makadi Bay with our children (9&11). Between us we did snorkeling, scuba courses, kite surfing course (w Maurice), yoga, water gymnastics, fly yoga (less well!), and hung out by the heated pool (kids loved the bean bags on the island). We took advantage of the great massages at the spa, ate lots of food (many options and variety each day), and the kids especially liked the mocktail menu at the beachside/poolside bar. Our adjoining rooms were spotless, great condition and good sizes, each with their own balcony which comfortably fit chairs, table, drying rack and sun loungers. Staff were attentive but not pushy. Good amenities onsite if you wanted to buy souvenirs or things you’d forgotten to pack. Kids especially liked the super friendly ‘bead and sand sculpture man’, Ahmed. The gardens were also beautifully maintained. We did a mini van day trip to Luxor and valley of the kings (and Queens) thru our tui rep. It was a long day but we covered loads without being rushed. We also managed a quad bike trip through the desert, directly behind the hotel. The 11yo got to drive one himself so was pretty pleased with that (Note: BYO helmets ;-)) some activities (eg archery) are more for adults and some pools more reserved for adults - as it was, the only pool really used was the one heated pool (29), but it wasn’t crowded and there were no sun lounger ‘shortages’ either. I note some reviewers mentioned the place is now 10 years old. It certainly didn’t feel ‘tired’ and there was some renovation work going on with some of the poolside apartments while we were there. It wasn’t intrusive at all, but I expect they are embarking on a modernisation programme of at least some aspects of the resort. But we couldn’t really fault it - and given 1. The hotel is accredited for its sustainability record and 2. I get really upset by overconsumption of resources, a slightly dated colour scheme in the bathroom was really not a cause for concern. I wish we’d had another week there as there was so much on offer, that we could have done with a bit more time to chill out - and to take advantage of more of the facilities on offer. (And we’d take a light winter jacket for evenings if we went in February again).…
We spent part of our honeymoon here into the new year and it was wonderful, we got a instant upgrade to the sea view room, the view was lovely. Very helpful staff and great ambience at the resort. Very big property so you got a lot of exploring to do
