A very, very beautiful hotel. The beach is wonderful. The reception staff are helpful and respectful. The room on the sea lacks a balcony overlooking the sea. A beautiful hotel. We will repeat the visit again. The animation is beautiful and the bars are beautiful. Everything is wonderful. The security and restaurant staff are cooperative. We wish you success, progress and prosperity.

I was there with my boyfriend on Octomber 3, 2012. I was a bit afraid because i had read the reviews about 4 start Egypt hotels.WeI arrived at the hotel at midnight. From the beginning the staff was very nice, as we have hb the reception staff sent us to the restaurant to have dinner, waiters were very friendly. Good service, food, team animation, large rooms, o lot of beach sports such as volleyball, football,Skysurfing. The resort is very big and in the first days we lose on the way to our room :))).The food was really very good, and our room was very big and clean. If you book the trip to Cairo/Luxor dont forget to ask the day before at the reception for pocket breakfast, is very helpful on the way to Cairo/Luxor. I was very pleased with my choice. i would definitely recommend this hotel

... the Magawish can be many things. I went there in 2011 with my father and there were good sides and bad sides, but of course everything is relative and depends on many factors. Before booking at Magawish you must know the following:
- it is about 12 km far from the Hurghada City and you have to take a cab if you want to go to the city. Be sure to ask in advance and negotiate with the driver (if I remember correctly it should cost around 11 Egyptian lira or less, but always check).
- first contact: Magawish is a large area with bungalows and 3 or 4 buildings with 2 floors. When you arrive be prepared for the following: leave luggage outside the reception, fill in the forms and be guided by an employee to your location. You cannot take you luggage with you because they have small cars that take your belongings and deliver them to your bungalow/ building. Only that this happens in their own time. Which can (and is) different than your needs or desires. Also, it may happen (and it did) that the hotel employee engages in a seemingly important conversation with a colleague and forgets about you, and you are suddenly in a labyrinth of crooked alleys with 1 or 2 maps, desperately trying to find your bungalow. After a long flight this situation can be a bit bothering. But all is well that ends well, so when you manage to find your way, open the door and enter, you feel just great. Then you realize the air in the bungalow is hot and you cannot breathe. The air conditioner is in fact a sort of converter that mostly recirculates the air, but is not able to provide freshness. The inside is rather clean, but the plumbing and electric devices are mostly improvised. The furniture is maybe the age of my grandma, but is bearable, if you are not a fan of modernism. If you pick a bungalow, be careful not to close the door and leave the keys inside. We did. Luckily we had left a window open so I climbed on and entered the room. The carpentry is also rather old.
- first morning: sun rises very early, consequently it is recommendable that you wake up and go to the beach (a 3 minutes walk) before 7 o clock and place a scarf or a newspaper on the seats you want to stay - this functions as a ”reserved” mark that everyone respects - and only after that go to have breakfast.
- food: eating was ok, maybe not extremely varied, but enough dishes to choose from, very good bread, plenty of vegetables (raw or boiled), fish and chicken, some veal from time to time, lots of very sweet cookies. The only regrets I had had to do wit the fact that I was expecting some exotic traditional spiced dishes, while everything was rather European in taste, and secondly the fruits were scarce and not very tasty (yellow melon as a habit). All in all I have no bad memories about eating in Magawish
- employees: of course they were all over you at first, trying to sell tickets for beach parties and entertainment programs, but if you refuse politely 2 times they get the point and leave you alone. Friendly they seem, but when it comes to buying anything you have to bargain like hell (eg: a pack of 12 local spices amounted around 7 or 9 euro in the resort, while in the duty free at the airport it was 2 euro). Every day at the beach there are gymnastics, volleyball and other free activities for the hotel guests - the entertainers are nice and polite. The cleaning staff is also reasonable, if you want to sleep at that time, they are not invasive.
- atmosphere: it is quiet and you can relax, the Red Sea is excellent and the Magawish has a fame for water sports - there are plenty of surfers with wind kites and scuba divers, so you do not get bored. The beach has 2 bars where you can eat (I do not recommend the pizza, though) and drink some beers at a very high price (25 lira a can of 0,33 liters). The sun sets each day at 6 pm sharp, which can be rather strange, but you can rest until dinner, or go to the city if you want action (and camels and horns and frantic car circulation). The resort was 99% occupied by Russian tourists. There are 3 or 4 pools, but with the sea under the nose the pools were rather quiet (which can also be ok)
- tips: do not drink tap water. Best thing is to buy once from the local store (small and with a strange timetable, depending, I suppose, on the mood of the owner) a bottle (sparkling water is extremely expensive, more that mineral one) of water, and then just fill it in the hotel restaurant where you have free water in 2 dispensers.
All in all it was a relaxing and enjoyable holiday of 6 nights, with the pros and cons above mentioned.

First visit to Rixos hotel in Hurgurda & definitely the best hotel we’ve stayed at in the city. Room was fabulous, swim up villa, very spacious, lovely and clean. Mini bars fully stocked with all branded drinks in both the lounge and bedroom, replenished each day! Numerous fridges dotted around the beach area where you can help yourself to cold drinks all day.
We sampled all the restaurants, bar the Asian one as being from Liverpool we have a great Chinatown on our doorstep.
People’s restaurant was lovely for a quiet breakfast and great for lunch too, situated on the beach front.
The Brazilian restaurant was fabulous, made very welcome by Mohamed and Thomaz who really looked after us. All the meat was cooked to perfection & we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We would definitely recommend this hotel & will be coming back as we have our annual Winter sun break each year in Hurgurda.
Full program of classes in health studio on the beach, Anastasia very helpful & enthusiastic.

It’s a good sea view restaurant. We ordered fried shrimps, seafood rice, fresh fish and two desserts. Service was good enough (our waiter was Raeed), all dishes were served fast, and he even gave us an additional portion of octopus. who stays in Rixos I would suggest to book a la carte restaurants, because regular dinner is not good enough. And this restaurant is the best one among all a la carte restaurants

All drinks served with snacks and nothing was too much trouble.
Would recommend this place to everyone The Rixos brand seem to be one of the best Hotels in the area.

To summarise: This is NOT a 4-star hotel! It is AWFUL. The food was DISGUSTING. The room was DIRTY. Reception staff were UNHELPFUL and RUDE - they OVERCHARGED us on taxis. There was LOUD Russian dance music on repeat on the beach ALL DAY. There was a smell of sewage EVERYWHERE. Half of the bars/restaurants were CLOSED. Toilets were dirty with NO soap. Gym was TERRIBLE with NO air con. The only hotel WITHOUT free Wifi for guests.
• Upon arrival, we were shown to Reception which smelled awful and, after checking in, were shown to our room, number 424. The room was very tired and the fixtures and fittings very old and often dangling off the walls. Specific problems included:
o Bathroom was dirty and the bath was stained
o The light in the bedroom was a 15watt bulb so it was impossible to see anything (this was changed after asking Reception THREE times)
o There were ants in the room
o The water availability was intermittent and sometimes non-existent
• We went to the main restaurant for our first meal that evening and it was disgusting:
o Much of the food was stale and unhygienic
o Food was left on tables long after guests had left
o There was no sense of order and as a result there was no formal queuing leading to an appalling experience for us (two polite Western guests)
o Breakfast ran out of fruit salad (tinned melon) very earl and never replenished.
• Many of the bars and restaurants at the hotel were closed all week and this was not highlighted in our welcome information. Instead we were provided all of the opening times for the individual bars and restaurants, most of which was irrelevant. It was left to us to visit each location before we discovered whether it was open or closed:
o Mermaid restaurant – SHUT
o Panorama bar – SHUT
o Cave bar – SHUT
• When having a drink at the bars, it was very difficult to get a proper glass rather than a very cheap and flimsy plastic cup. The Oriental café, which was nowhere near a pool or the beach, had a large supply of glasses and yet the staff were VERY reluctant to provide one as it meant they would have to wash it up afterwards
• There were only 3 food options available at lunch in the Dolphin Bar: pizza, pasta, small salad
• There was a lot of rubbish around the hotel and a lot of the bins were over spilling
• The toilets around the hotel were disgusting and there was often no soap available
• There was a smell of raw sewage when walking through the resort
• On the second evening, having had such a harrowing experience in the restaurant on our first evening, we asked Reception to order us a taxi into Hurghada. We were charged 35 Egyptian Pounds for a one-way taxi. When returning later that evening in a proper taxi, we were charged only 20 Egyptian Pounds. Reception had ripped off its own guests. This trait continued all week as we had to eat out every evening due to the disgusting food and every night, Reception tried to charge us MORE THAN NECESSARY to get a taxi so that they could rip us off. This therefore meant that we didn’t trust anything that anyone in the hotel said to us and they are meant to HELP their guests rather than rip us off!
• The beach was a pleasant place to spend the day, or so we thought until the extremely loud music began on the first day. This was played on repeat ALL DAY, EVERY DAY and there was nowhere to go to escape it. The music was played by the resident Animation Team and when asked if they could turn it down, we were told it was not possible. If there had been background music on the beach, this would have been fine but instead there were 4 x stage speakers blaring awful Russian dance music ALL DAY ON REPEAT
• When we went to use the gym one afternoon, to get away from the music on the beach, we found yet another disappointment. There were some weights and that was it. No running machines. There was also no air conditioning so the room was like a sauna
• We could not believe that the hotel did not offer complimentary Wifi for guests. Whilst we would not expect this in all the rooms due to the layout of the hotel, we could not believe that we were asked to pay for usage in Reception. Every bar that we went to in Hurghada offered free Wifi so why on earth could the hotel not offer this, at least for half an hour a day or something similar?

it was a beautiful hotel once upon a time, like in the 1980es when it was build, but unfortunately, not a single thing has been renovated since.
it has the most beautiful beach in whole Hurghada, especial for little kids, bungalows are old, furniture also, food was great, staff very kind.
nice pools also, rooms are very far from the restaurant and from the beach which can be very difficult for small children, and you have to walk for 10 minutes to come to main road where the taxi and mini bus station is.

I don’t know. We had a transfer from the company. It was included in our trip. But I want to tell you that the hotel is located in the further end of Hurgada from the airport. To take a taxi from the hotel to the center of Hurgada is $2. And the same distance from the city center to the airport. So I think $5-10, don’t pay more.
Yes
Just show your passport pay about 10€ for all day entry and meal
