Mirage bay was our first experience of Egypt earlier last year , and we returned in December for some winter sun , and we've also booked to go back in March. Everything you need is right here under one roof, lovely clean beach, clear waters, massage therapists, tour guides to help you choose a great trip, multiple restaurants, multiple bars, multiple pools and of course the aqua park. There's also gaming available, a gym, a theatre, entertainment team, aqua aerobics, evening entertainment. Scooter rental. Shops and supermarkets. If you want to venture outside there's a mall nearby in walking distance with McDonald's and department stores , a huge strip of shops selling souvenirs is right outside the hotel gates. Taxis are available if you want to visit the marina , I'd recommend at least one evening down there in a bar or restaurant overlooking all the yachts. Taxi was only £10.
The hotel is undergoing impressive improvements and any building work is hidden away and does not impose at all, I didn't hear any machinery. Every whim is catered to by the impressive team of reception, housekeeping and maintenance staff. They treat their guests like family and will do anything to help you have the best stay.
My young daughter befriended lifeguards. Managers, security, receptionists, tour guides and guests. She feels completely at home there.
The food is different as its obviously not the uk but there's always an amazing selection of fruits veggies, deserts, pastas, meat dishes and traditional dishes, every day roast chicken or beef or fish dishes are available. The breakfast is great as they always have eggs, toast, continental, & hot dishes available.
My daughter also loved the snack bar as it serves pizza, hotdogs and ice cream in the afternoons.
I think the bad reviews on here stem from a time before the renovations started because my room was spotless and housekeeping is daily not weekly like in some hotels. I had fresh clean linen and towels every day.
A huge thank you to the mirage team from us for making us so so welcome.
And to anyone thinking of visiting , hope to see you there !

I rested in this hotel in August 2023, the hotel was a three. I will describe this hotel in more detail: at the reception, the employees pretend to be constantly busy, check-in took a very long time, as the employees were constantly distracted. The room was old, there were no towels, water, shampoo or gel when checking in, the TV remote control was broken, and there were no batteries in the air conditioner remote control. Only after complaining to the guide did they bring it all, when I approached myself, they said that they would bring everything, but did not fulfill the promise. The bed linen was gray, not fresh, I still didn’t understand when it was changed, the towels were also gray, there was always sand in the room after cleaning, the quality of cleaning was second to none. The hotel is very large, this has the advantage that you don’t have to go anywhere, there are many swimming pools, a water park, and of course the sea. A large green area, the vegetation in the hotel is closely monitored. The downside of a large hotel is that we had to walk 10-15 minutes to get to the sea and the dining room. The food in the dining room was also unsatisfactory, the vegetables did not smell fresh, the food was monotonous, questionable salads that I didn’t even want to try. One day I decided to take lettuce leaves, but they were not washed and there was sand. From this food or water, my child and I had digestive problems throughout the entire period, which was two weeks. The hotel is located in a bay, so there are no waves or fish, you can snorkel if you leave for a reception, very safe and shallow entry into the sea, great for children's swimming, there was an anti-shark net, the water was heated. There were not enough sunbeds on the beach after 10 am; many sunbeds were broken and dented. Cocktails are not prepared in bars; they only mix strong alcohol with powdered juices or soda. We took excursions from the tour company themselves, I was satisfied with the excursions, 40 percent cheaper than the guide, we went to Luxor on a large comfortable bus, we also went to the island of Utopia, everything was organized perfectly, that is, these excursions are absolutely identical to the excursions offered by the guide , I found this company on Instagram, previously watched their feed, read reviews, a normal company, excursions can be taken from them, it’s safe. I would also note a plus of this hotel that there are many children, not my daughter, who is eight years old, and always found friends. I summarize this review, the hotel is suitable for a family holiday, this hotel can be considered if the cost of the tour is not high. I would also note the plus of this hotel that there are many children, not my daughter, who is eight years old, always finding friends. I summarize this review, the hotel is suitable for a family holiday, this hotel can be considered if the cost of the tour is lower compared to other hotels. I talked to some vacationers and they were satisfied with their stay at this hotel.

There are a lot of old and broken rooms. No one is in a hurry to fix them. They move into such rooms, apparently they don’t consider them people at all.

They are in no hurry to change numbers. They always say TOMORROW. They are deceivers, don’t believe me!

Somewhere the air conditioners are running, some people's sockets are not working. Shower without a shower head!

If you see a large dead bug, you know it's a cockroach!

Balconies on the first floors are not closed.

Come into the room if you want.

The water is often turned off, and the light too, by the way.

Wifi is dead

There aren't enough safes for everyone.

There are a lot of Arabs on vacation. They are very loud, earplugs will help you. The audibility is excellent.

The food is disgusting!

The child was hungry the entire holiday. The toilet should always be nearby.

Cola is stirred with water. There are no juices, only Jupi🤪

The chicken is always burnt, the cutlets are undercooked. Solid soy.

Pools are washed only when they turn green.

The hotel is not worthy of 4*!

The animation is so-so.

The hotel is a disgusting property. Hotels were allowed to open at limited capacity on some conditions of hygiene and cleanliness none of which are met by this property.

The rooms are filthy, we walked into our rooms to find used plates, bags of trash and no clean towels and dirty floors both outside the room and inside, that was the first impression.

The meal setup is disgusting and unhygienic so we skipped all meals at the hotel and either brought our own food or are out.

The aqua park is filthy and very limited.

The staff are amongst the least friendly and least hospitable staff i have encountered anywhere in Egypt or outside. The evening entertainment i laughable.

The all inclusive drinks are flat carbonated beverages and unhealthy sugar filled colored water for the kids. Skipped that too of course.

The one good thing about the property is the beach. It's clean, the water is clear, the people stay apart a little bit and there's a nice spot at the end of the pier where you can do some snorkeling if you bring your own gear. It is not Giftoun or Ras Mohammed, but can provide for an hour or so of entertainment.

All in all, I do not recommend this property to anyone. Save your money or go somewhere else.

4 star prices for 2 star service. We originally booked for 7 nights but left as early as possible in the morning after first night and checked into a different (very lovely) hotel.
We arrived late evening and after filling out the check-in papers we were advised to go to the restaurant to have a dinner whilst our rooms were being prepared. You have to walk miles to get to the rooms and back to the restaurant or reception. After dinner we had to wait about half an hour in order to get the keys and navigating us to the rooms. I requested a premium wifi because the standard Wifi didn't work and kept disconnecting in every single minutes but I was told to wait until next morning because no one could help me to upgrade. When we arrived to the rooms we were literally shocked. Rooms are dated and shabby in need of a good clean. The paint on the walls was falling and the bathroom was full of rust and smelling of pee.

We requested an extra towel and bed sheet for the 3rd person in the room, because we only got 2 at arrival. Staff made some notes (room number and request) but 45 minutes later there was still no sign of any update. I gave them a reminder call from the room and finally ( 30 minutes later, after midnight) a member of staff brought us a towel, but they forgot the bed sheet. They didn't even understand what we had requested. We were exhausted, after a long and tiring day of travelling and we were still left without bedsheet.

Next day our premium internet upgrade request was denied again, because nobody could help, they advised me to go back late afternoon to check if someone could assist us. I didn't have a satisfactory explanation for this.

Arriving at the restaurant there were flies everywhere and the floor was sticky, the cereal dispenser, coffee and tea area and the toaster itself were literally disgusting.
In order to get a safe deposit box (it's not provided in the room, you have to reserve one in a room at the lobby) we had to wait half an hour at the reception for someone who could provide one.

All in all, room was dirty, food was terrible, staff was rude and they don't speak English fluently, therefore it's difficult to communicate.
Staff in the bar and restaurants are rude, if you look at the swimming pools you can see dirt everywhere. Soft drinks are watered up and tap water is served instead of mineral water ( it's more than risky in Egypt).
Don't believe the photos on the booking sites because they don't reflect the reality. The place doesn't look like those at all. Everything is falling apart, broke, rusty , miserable. Whoever give them 4 stars resort, should have a look again and check them because clearly the conditions and the hospitality of the stuff are not matching.

For all of these reasons I made a very detailed complaint to reception first thing in the morning and I checked out 6 days early, very unhappy.

We are a group of 50,this Hotel should be graded 1 star ,no WiFi, no shower gel, no shampoo, body lotion, Kleenex no water in most of the rooms .Rooms should be renvated, ants in rooms, bathrooms smell awful . As for the food it is horrible, after we complained it was a bit better. The staff are helpful but they are helpless. NO Management at all ,all reviews about the hotel are very bad but it seems that the management team doesn't care.
We will NEVER EVER visit or recommend this hotel to anyone

Food: Buffet food was never hot, even if you attended as soon as the buffet opened. My girlfriend and I have had dodgy stomachs since arriving at this hotel. I’ve now been home a week and my dodgy stomach still persists. I’ve had to call 111 and see a dr yesterday in the UK. (2 weeks I’ve felt like this). They also segregated the eating areas, I went into one area and was told to go to the other area because it was ‘more white’. I didn’t agree with this mentality. However, I followed the rules just to keep everyone happy.

Drink: all you can drink, great if you like kids size (20ml) cups and cheap alcohol. I can give this a pass though as it’s non drinking nation. I’m also not a huge drinker either, but even soft drinks or beers were in silly tiny cups. Give me an adult cup! This just resulted in most people getting a 4 or 5 of each drink just to have 1 drink. Huge increase in plastic waste. Sigh.

Facilities: lots of different swimming pools, free towel rental was a nice bonus and pool staff were friendly. However, there are many, many broken deckchairs and it seemed like 50/50 chance of having a functioning one. Good sized hotel room with air con but space could have been used better. Don’t go there expecting to use the WiFi , it only worked in reception and when I say ‘worked’ I’m being extremely generous. Unless you’re willing to use data, go there being prepared to be disconnected from the world. This is fine for me as I like having a break from the internet, however some people don’t like it, so thought it’s worth a mention.

Cleanliness: rooms 5 star. We were fortunate to have a very friendly cleaner who did a great job cleaning our room. Other areas of the hotel were always kept clean too. Good job here. Pool never felt that clean, there was always visible hairs, bugs and those tiny plastic cups everyone had to take 5 of.

Tipping: none of the staff hassled you for tips in this place which was one saving Grace. The only staff member I tipped, and I tipped him well was our room cleaner because he was the only one that really did a good job.

I would hard avoid this hotel and I’m quite an experienced traveler as Egypt was country 66 that I’ve visited. Swerve, brake, crash into a wall rather than visit this place.

My wife and visited this Hotel 16th February for a 12 Day All inclusive break, it’s the Worst Hotel we have ever stayed at , Food is inedible, low grade quality alcoholic drinks served in tiny thin plastic cups till 11 pm ( not that we drank till 11 pm ) Small Bar servicing the extremely run down Reception area where you supposed to spend your quality time , most of the guests who do try and have a drink gather their because it’s the only place you have a slim chance of getting some Wi-Fi, best of luck, there is a outside Bar open at the Big pool serving the same terrible drinks but in winter months in evenings to cold to stay there long. Hotel is tired & run down from the rooms to the restaurant you use for the inedible food they will serve you , Al a cart is a joke, you don’t get any choice & the quality of the food is exactly the same as the restaurant ( no surprise there ) or yes not forgetting the Building work going on there , only place I’ve been to where they turn the outside music on at 7 am to try and hide the sound of the builders lol don’t bother complaining there a couple of extremely rude reception staff who will totally ignore you , just don’t book this place, We just ate & drank out for most of the Holiday at an obvious extra expense, best thing in this Hotel is a Bar on the Beach called Vitamin bar nothing to do with Hotel but they offer Fresh Smoothies ( we paid £30 for 20 Bargain) Good points Staff got us through our 12 Days, guy who cleaned our room was incredible, always smiling and give us a lift , Bar staff friendly and tried their best but Nothing to work with, and for February weather stunning, Hurgarda is well worth a visit, Harbour ( taxi 25 min drive pay no more than £4 each way) really nice where food & drink is reasonable & good quality thank goodness , Lucca,s English bar excellent for food and Sport , Lodge bar food fantastic. Senso mall about 25 min walk from Hotel is great , McDonald’s, KFC , Chilli,s ( stunning for food ) 2 other restaurants & Hugh market with everything in it very cheap & loads of clothes shops low to high end clothes, by Taxi about £1.50 each way . Final note very few English people in this Hotel in Winter months.

70% of vacationing Arabs, I don't mind them, but the local mornings take almost all the sunbeds on the beach with their food and you have to wander around and look for free deck chairs. All 1 line of rooms by them (local Arabs) bought by the Arabs, going to their place as a cottage.
Cleaning the area limps badly.
Rooms are issued to tourists where not sold, that is, from the sea and from restaurants main (there are 2) a minimum of 800 meters.
Numbers killed off, I changed twice and ended up just tired of moving...
The staff at the reception are very sharp and unwelcome (this is generally 1 impression negative).
All drinks are total nonsense, not to mention that the concept of ice 🧊 for drinks in this hotel simply does not exist, and normal drinks are all for an additional fee.
Coffee machines work in the day for 2-3 hours and the rest of the time either no electricity or they allegedly take their time cleaning (maintenance) very slowly and thus force tourists to buy paid coffee.
And a lot of other little things, such as no bathrooms at all in restaurants, no place to just wash your hands, and where there are bathrooms (50 meters from the restaurant on foot) there was never soap and everything is dirty and broken.

Old and run down hotel! There is practically no animation, all the animators are lazy! They can only dance and hide from people, and sometimes they just turn on music and walk silently, like zombies on the beach! They only do exercises and step. Sports games such as darts, boccia, volleyball are simply not available!!! When we asked them about volleyball, they threw us a deflated ball with a hernia and showed us where the net was, we were simply shocked! And when we ourselves found a normal ball and organized a game, they came with a camera and started taking photos! Disgrace!!! The evening show is a 30-minute farce of animators, just dancing, the same ones they dance in the morning or karaoke, with ancient equipment, broken hissing speakers and a broken microphone in a dilapidated, shabby and scary basement hall or a “fire show” on the street that they perform it themselves. Once in 10 days there was a so-called “drum show”, it was just a spit on the vacationers, as people in homemade cheap costumes came on stage and started dancing in circles, there were no drums. All the animators need to be driven to the neck and recruit a normal team, so at least the hotel will not be so sad. The rooms are old, Wi-Fi in the room is only available in one corner, we mainly used the Internet in the lobby, where the reception is, the furniture is falling apart, there is no hot water periodically, and if you want to be moved where there is hot water, then pay $10. Meals for vegetarians)) only chicken. Alcohol is tolerable, beer is bottled. The area is green, but not well thought out, from the room to the reception it’s 100m, from the reception to the restaurant it’s the same, there’s no toilet in the restaurant and if you need it, it’s 50m from the restaurant, in a whole day it’s normal to go in circles like that)) The pool, which they call “heated”, is small and adjacent to the slides, it’s like everything is in a barrel and it’s not possible to just swim there. The beach is normal, sand mixed with small stones, windless bay. In general, if it weren’t for the good weather and company, the vacation would have been ruined!
