We had a fantastic week at the Aqua Blu Hotel. The hotel is one of 3 all in a row and you can use any one of them.
Food... Not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.....Your led to beleive there are separate restaurants for Indian, Italian, fish ect but in reality these are all one restaurant. Restaurant is over 3 rooms and you need to be a ninja to get hot toast and then run for hot food to go with it. Layout is very strange. All restaurants at all 3 hotels are the same. Choice of food is very limited and often cold. Breakfast was awful unless you like omelette and cold potatoes ir toast. We did however complain and the staff went out of their way to accommodate requests. Snack bars attrocious serving chips, pizza and hot dogs in buns. No ice cream with main dinner and if you want it can only get from snack bars in tiny pots from snack bar served by grumpy bar staff.
The rooms, grounds and bars are spotlessly clean. Staff in main bar and pool bar are awesome and can't do enough for you. Lifeguard had our sunbeds ready every day. We did tip bar staff and lifeguard as we felt they earned every penny of. Staff are a credit to hotel and made up for poor food.
Pools are great but only one with pool bar is heated and others where freezing which you can see as they where empty.
Shuttle to beach at hotel over road but you can only use a small area on beach and one snack bar and although an albatross hotel not all its other amenities.
Rooms large, great shower beds very comfy and cleaned daily with bottled water left and with kettle for tea and coffee.
Don't use the Big Shop at Aqua Vista it's a rip off for prices. Use the one under the Aqua Blu entrance and barter for good prices. These shops half the price of the Big Shop.
Overall great week and wanted to give 5 stars but food let it down.

The Aqua Blu is one of 4 Pickalbatros Hotels forming a complex in the Safraga area of Hurghada about 20 minutes by taxi from the town centre. The hotel is busy all year round and this can make it difficult for them to honour room requests. I had asked for a quiet room which I did not get and, when I was checking in, a family with disabled parents had a requested adjacent rooms didn't get them. It is also difficult sometimes to get a sunbed or a table in the 3 buffet restaurants (which are basically one restaurant split in to 3). Guests can not use the restaurants in the other hotels but I was pleased with the choice and quality of food and drink available. Guests can use the pools and bars in all the hotels (with the exception of the Red Sky Pool) but there continued to be confusion among the Staff about this. The hotel is high quality and recently refurbished. It is extremely clean everywhere with a good range of facilities. It has good wheelchair access but the floors can be very slippery when wet. My room was very large and there was no charge for the safe. The majority of guests are Russian or German and I was surprised that the level of English spoken by Staff in the hotel and elsewhere was generally low which did cause problems when asking for information or items and quite a number of the staff did not come across as very helpful. I raised these points with the Customer Relations Manager Diana who assured me that they would b e acted upon. Overall I has a happy stay.

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Aqua Blu and had a great time.
Everywhere we went in the 3 sister hotels, restaurants, bars, receptions, pools, were all scrupulously clean with cleaning continuously being carried out.
The room and bathroom were decent sizes, even with 3 adults sharing the room, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in on holiday. The complimentary toiletries were of a good standard too so no need to take up precious baggage allowance with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.
The animation team were lovely, so bubbly, enthuisatic and energetic and always stopped to have a chat with us as we lay on our sunbeds. The entertainment programme was really varied both during the day and in the evening.
With several pools across the 3 sites (I think we counted 12 plus 3 waterpark type pools), there really is something for everyone.
The restaurants were very good too. Plenty of choice in each one and we tried them all just to add some variety. I dont normally eat cake or desserts but the choice of them on offer did persuade me to try them on several occasions! The sea food a la carte restaurant was particularly good.
However I think that what makes this hotel stand out for me is the staff. They couldn't do enough for us and just about everyone had a smile on their face, spared the time to have a chat with us and just really looked after us. This was particularly evident when my friend had an upset stomach and the restaurant manager and a general manager looked after him well. A big shout out to the restaurant staff in Ali Bi, particularly Mohammed with the drinks trolley, Mohammed in the Sky Bar, Mohammed (life guard) and Ali (I think) at the small pool next to the wave pool and the bar staff at the Olympus Bar at the Aqua Vista.
A map of the hotels and details of how to book the a la carte restaurants and where ice cream and pancakes were available would have been very welcome. As it was we were fortunate to be given this information from other guests otherwise we would have missed them.
A great holiday and I hope to be back again at some point.

1. After a night flight had to wait for a few hours to be checked in, but were provided breakfast.
2.Receptionists seem friendly but not helpful at solving anything.
3. The territory is beautiful, groomed, cleaned, but the tiles are extremely slippery.
4. There is regular room service: the towels are changed, the rubbish is taken out.
5. The floor in room and dust in corners, stairs in the block are hardly ever washed.
6. beach towels are old and often disgustingly dirty.
7. The food is served in one restaurant, the space is enough to keep distance, cleanness is OK; the variety is modest but sufficient.
8. The staff is rarely wearing a mask under Covid 19 situation, especially those serving the food should have had a mask.
9. The temperature screening is hardly ever in place ( on arival and 3 times in the restaurant for all our stay).
10. Snacks are limited in time and location; bottled water is available in bars only, check their working time and location, make sure you have a supply with you.
11. The animation was good, for kids and adults.
12. Shuttle bus to the beach is available but 30 mins intervals, late start and early finish at 17.00, no schedule displayed, make it inconvenient to use. walkin takes 15-20 mins depending in the block.
13. Ice-cream is well-hidden in a bar of a neigbouring hotel Aqua Park, served in a resticted period, but not worth hunting for, tastes disgusting.
14. Most guests were local people, lots of kids in near the pools zones, at times the area is too noisy and untidy.
15. The beach is spacious, lounges and umbrellas are enough, but at 17.40 you start yo be pushed out of the sea by the security guys.
16. Beach bar only one for a big area, always queues, small variety served.
17. Water entrance is insufficient for 4 huge hotels using it, on some days it was overcrowded to swim. It is too much guarded and controlled not tresspaas the restricting lines. the entrance is sandy and shallow.
18. The definite advantage is an opportunity to use the facilities of the three second line hotels, but for restaurants, which makes the overall walking area absolutely huge, various and interesting.
Summary: nothing critically wrong, modest service and food, just meeting basic standards, insufficient hygien, bearable distance to the beach for healthy people, good but small sea entrance, quiet at night, busy at day time, absolutely huge and lovely territory, numerous swimming pools and aqua park.

We picked the Aqua Blu as we had seen it being totally renovated during our trips to the Aqua Vista. It looked great and the facilities we found their were great the pools rooms and bars were all excellent.
The two main disappointments were the service in the restaurant. The food was good and we always found something but after being to Egypt many times I was really disappointed by the lack of service here. No drinks brought to the table. Lots of tables without cutlery and when you asked for this it seemed a hassle to them. Going to get your own drink was also a chore as the guy who served the beer tried to tell you to go to the bar at the other end of the dining room for soft drinks, this was the most unhelpful person in the hotel terrible service.
The bar staff were great however the alcohol was not. The beer and the wine were fine but the spirts were terrible. I know they are local brands but I went to this hotel after visiting the sister hotel on the same complex and the spirts at that time were great. All of them tasted the same and they all tasted awful and as we enjoy a drink in the evening this impacted on our holiday.
I thought I had found a group of hotels I could continually return to however I will not be returning and advice others to avoid.

We stayed at the aqua blu from 13/05/2022-24/05/2022.
We only really had 2 issues during our stay, but this was out weighed by some of the good experiences & we would visit again thanks to the below pro’s
PRO’s:
Zakaria Ayad (Wave pool lifeguard) looked after us everyday & always helped us get a good spot with plenty of shade, and always came over to speak to us & make sure we were ok, and whenever we asked he got us a red flag so we want pestered by people selling trips/massages.
Ali, Eman & Karim in the melody bar looked after us very well, there was never a moment when we didnt have a drink in our hand, they were very attentive and went out of their way to get to know their customers, we never had to tell any of them what drink we wanted & they always knew & would even tell me in their attempt of my Northern accent what it was to give me us giggle🤣 anyone who was there at the same time as us will have heard them calling my boyfriend ‘SHEFFIELD’ everywhere they saw him which he loved. Karim was always doing rounds around the pools to take drink orders & got them back to you really quickly.
Zakaria, Ali, Eman & Karim made our holiday & hopefully we will return to see them again. Hopefully the hotel recognises their staff as these guys work very hard.
Animation team were always on hand to help & had plenty of activities, we enjoyed alex & tanisha’s aqua aerobics & darts.
CONS:
When we arrived at the hotel we went to check in & eventually went to our room, we had booked a ‘Double room with garden or pool view and balcony’ when we went in it was a room with 3 single beds, looking out on to another balcony on block 10, you had to lean over the balcony & look left or right to see a pool, if you looked down it was concrete. We went back to reception & was told we had booked a standard room, and double meant how many people was staying in the room - i showed them my booking from TUI and was moved rooms straight away into a room in the aqua vista block near the wave pool, unfortunately it had 2 single beds again & couldnt be moved together due to the lamp screwed in but was better than the last room.
The other issue we had was the food, a lot of brits we spoke to & including us ended up with a bad stomach - one night we noticed our chicken was practically raw inside, but other than that was your normal Egypt all inclusive. If you’re a fussy eater, pizza, chips & pasta is there every night.
Also there was often kids on scooters in the restaurant which was an odd one, but probably not a regular thing.
We only really had 2 issues during our stay, but this was out weighed by some of the good experiences & we would visit again thanks to the below pro’s
PRO’s:
Zakaria Ayad (Wave pool lifeguard) looked after us everyday & always helped us get a good spot with plenty of shade, and always came over to speak to us & make sure we were ok, and whenever we asked he got us a red flag so we want pestered by people selling trips/massages.
Ali, Eman & Karim in the melody bar looked after us very well, there was never a moment when we didnt have a drink in our hand, they were very attentive and went out of their way to get to know their customers, we never had to tell any of them what drink we wanted & they always knew & would even tell me in their attempt of my Northern accent what it was to give me us giggle🤣 anyone who was there at the same time as us will have heard them calling my boyfriend ‘SHEFFIELD’ everywhere they saw him which he loved. Karim was always doing rounds around the pools to take drink orders & got them back to you really quickly.
Zakaria, Ali, Eman & Karim made our holiday & hopefully we will return to see them again. Hopefully the hotel recognises their staff as these guys work very hard.
Animation team were always on hand to help & had plenty of activities, we enjoyed alex & tanisha’s aqua aerobics & darts.
CONS:
When we arrived at the hotel we went to check in & eventually went to our room, we had booked a ‘Double room with garden or pool view and balcony’ when we went in it was a room with 3 single beds, looking out on to another balcony on block 10, you had to lean over the balcony & look left or right to see a pool, if you looked down it was concrete. We went back to reception & was told we had booked a standard room, and double meant how many people was staying in the room - i showed them my booking from TUI and was moved rooms straight away into a room in the aqua vista block near the wave pool, unfortunately it had 2 single beds again & couldnt be moved together due to the lamp screwed in but was better than the last room.
The other issue we had was the food, a lot of brits we spoke to & including us ended up with a bad stomach - one night we noticed our chicken was practically raw inside, but other than that was your normal Egypt all inclusive. If you’re a fussy eater, pizza, chips & pasta is there every night.
Also there was often kids on scooters in the restaurant which was an odd one, but probably not a regular thing.

Upon arrival at the hotel check in was fast and easy and we were informed that the three hotels on complex were all avaliable for our use throughout our stay.
The room was beautiful it was large with a big double bed and spare single bed, balcony with a view of the pool and a giant walk in shower in a large bathroom. The room has a cooling and heating feature you can set depending on your needs but it's always lovely and cool after a hot day.
The main restaurant in Aqua Blu has a large buffet with a variety of options at each meal time. Being a bit fussy with food we have still always managed to find something to suit us. The pasta bar where you select your type of pasta, sauce and extra toppings is a brilliant idea as you can select exactly what you require. There is also a pizza bar which continuously makes fresh pizza which is definitely a favourite of ours.
The melody bar located in the pool is brilliant and Ali is a star! He has been friendly and welcoming since our arrival and always has a smile on his face he has definitely been a stand out amongst the staff.
We have been treated fantastic by the staff in the lobby bar also the young happy staff always smiling and will have a laugh with you when you go in. If you are polite to them they treat you well.
The animation team is brilliant at letting you know what is going on around the area and the energy they have is unbelievable from the start of day dance right through to them dancing away at night with the evening entertainment. Tanisha has been lovely and helpful and is quick to sort any problems if you speak to her about any issues. The animation team will all chat and have a laugh with you and are all extremely welcoming even if you don't participate in the activities.
We celebrated a birthday while staying here and the pool staff decorated our sunbed with birthday decorations and the room staff left a lovely cake in the room for us making a birthday away all the more special for us. Many times happy birthday was sang by people walking past it was definitely memorable.
We would definitely return here again the only thing we found was that the complex is so large we could have done with a map to help us find our way around but once we got our head around the lay out its been wonderful.

We spent 14 nights at this hotel and had a fabulous time although the weather at this time of year can be a bit windy our pool lad Mohammed Said looked after us and was friendly, as did Mohammed Nafia who kept us in soft drinks by the pool. The room was lovely and the room cleaner kept it really clean (5355) and was very pleasant. As regards the restaurant it is one large area but split into Italian, Chinese and Indian the pasta at lunch served by Morad was lovely, and in the evening we kept to the chinese and Indian cuisine the chefs really looked after us and all had a very pleasant manner, Chi Chi, Trilok and Enab. A special thank you to The restaurant manager Mohammed Abraham was especially pleasant and could not do enough for us to make our dining experience great. The reception staff dealt with any issues regarding the room very efficiently. The bar staff in the Lobby bar and Concerto bar greeted us with big smiles and were extremely pleasant and efficient especially Kenwawy who made us lovely Irish Coffees and Mohammed Fahey serving us drinks as soon as we sat down. Overall we had a fantastic holiday at the Aqua Blu and would definately return sometime..the management should be very proud of their Staff.

We visited this hotel on a late booking very used to Egypt as have been in excess of 15 times. However this hotel was impressive in many ways. Recently refurbished and obviously reopened after covid this hotel is the cleanest we have ever stayed in, staff in ALLareas were way above average and certainly go the extra mile. This hotel is fantastic for families but the space and layout mean that there are enough adult areas to find a space that suits everyone. The rooms are wll equipped with kettle and decent hairdryer and the beds extremely comfortable (not always found in Egypt lol). Particularly like the shower gel in dispenser as helps cut plastic waste but could drop plastic straw and stirrers. Food okay as a veggie could always find something to eat and again if you are experiencing problems the chefs/ manager will sort quickly and efficiently. Feedback is requested and actioned upon. Quality of drinks above average and again service is definitely above average weather you tip or not (we always do small tips to all to keep it fair). Following recent surgery I am currently disabled but will consider this aspect at the end of review. Would we recommend and return to the hotel definitely YES and would bring/recommend to family and friends. Wi fi free not great but adequate. Relieved that hotel supportive as TUI had little support other than trying to sell overpriced trips. Rep totally useless (again we didn't need him but stressful for other guests)
As a disabled person this hotel really worked for me adapted room with walk in shower great and if you need wheelchair access (I didn't but it was good). Only downside toilet by pool has steps ok for me but not if needs wheelchair access however I did not look for alternative. Happy to answer any questions re this. Staff again faultless and so helpful could not fault them went beyond the required level.

Our first experience with albatros aqua blu resort took place last week and, by far, this has been the most unique and enjoyable vacation we have ever had! Overall, the place and facilities available at the hotel were superb and of quite high quality. The food was really good and all the services were delivered at quite high standards. We definitely enjoyed the tranquillity that filled the place and how everything was beautifully arranged and planned for. However, what we found really intersting and enjoyable at the hotel was the working staff. The receptionists were quite helpful and friendly. The Entertainment team has literally been the best we have ever came across as they were so lovely, vibrant and always came up with new activities to do. We honestly loved them so much. Also, the room service staff for where we stayed at building 11 were so kind and welcoming and performed their job very well. The restaurant staff, as well, were so adorable, kind, helpful and friendly by all means and have made us feel most welcomed especially Mr. Abady, Mr. Mohamed Nagy, Chef Mourad, Chef Ehab as well as Ashraf El Moniem all of which were extremely warm welcoming and chirpy and had a great role in making our stay more special and joyous. I would really like to thank all the staff members working there; all of their efforts and hard work is really appreciated. I would certainly recommend the hotel for others and this will, undoubtedly, be our destination for the next times.
