In the middle of the beautiful azure blue Soma Bay you find this amazing 5-star hotel, which was previously the Intercontinental. It is a great location for relaxation and activities. The German run Surfmotion windsurf and kitesurfing center provides a lot of equipment and service to explore the bay when the winds blow and even Standup paddle the reefs, which also provide great opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving. Hotel rooms are impeccable and the all-inclusive is a great deal as the resort provides great food options in their Stella cafe and 4 restaurants of which the Greek Taverna and the Asian Cuisine shine. Overall one of the best experiences I have had in a Red Sea resort. We experienced a fabulous New Years Eve in a special area of the resort with amazing food variation and entertainment. Winter months from December till February can become cold in the evenings, but for active guests wet suits are provided by the surf stations. We also enjoyed and used the Spa facilities that also provide great massage services. Overall a great resort for families and active travelers - just a 40 min drive from the Hurghada airport. On the lacking side it's clear that the resort is not maintained to the level I have experienced in my previous couple of stays. Fittings in the Spa area could be updated as well as the Azure Bar needs a refresh.

I must say that I have taken a very good decision is choosing this hotel to stay for 6 nights. This hotel is located in a very convenient location far from the real hustle bustle of the city yet in a beautiful area surrounded by multiple restaurants. So people who are looking for a serene location with a great hospitality experience, and also reduces stress when you have to fly back., every morning, you wake up, is just awesome, My overall stay was completely hassle free and have enjoyed their hospitality to a great extent. And as we got to see during our stay they are following the highest & safest standards for COVID 19 as per the local authorities in Egypt and I can say that they are following the same standard I have seen in other international hotels brands in keeping their guest safe at all time.
Rooms were squeaking clean and the staffs were exceptionally helpful and professional. You have everything in the room what you might need. There are many other options/services available free of cost based on need. Every time we return to hotel room after the sightseeing/shopping, makes you feel that you've returned to home away from home :) We never had any issues throughout our stay in terms of any housekeeping or any other services. I felt that we were taken care of personally for each of the services they offered. It is zero sound once you enter your room which ensures a relaxed ambiance for a deep sleep.
I must appreciate the housekeeping Ahmed for taking a good care of us and the room for all the days. I am also extremely thankful to Mr. Kannan the front office Manager for upgrading our stay with a complimentary breakfast in VIP restaurant without any additional charges. No doubt, I have become a fan of Palm Royal Soma Bat hotel due to their courteous staff and their impeccable hospitality. We stayed in this hotel right before the Covid-19 quarantine hit, we took a note of this hotel is the best choice to stay as a very good facility for staying for a few days in the future.

Absolutely amazing holiday! We came to here Last June 2019. It was just me and my partner, we were so surprised by the hotel, the service, cleanliness and the quietness of the place. The hotel is huge!! We were quite nervous to come to Egypt and didn't know what to expect but we felt nothing but safe here and so welcomed. The pool was quiet, you never felt that you had to wake up early to get sunbeds as there was always some available, even at the beach there are so many different areas so whether you want some alone time or a bit of livelier atmosphere there is both for you. In the pool, we spoke to some of the other holiday goers and were surprised to hear that it wasn't their first, second or third time at the resort a lot of them had been multiple times before. A few of the couples said it was also the busiest it's been since they'd been there and most went for a couple of weeks at a time. When they said it was busy, we were shocked as it still seemed so empty and quiet. The food in the restaurants is amazing, there was always food for us to eat, we even tried to Chinese/Japenese restaurant which was amazing! I would definitely recommend.
We didn't feel there was any restrictions on what you can and can't wear, but just speak to the staff and respect their rules. I wore bikini's around the pool and beach and cover ups inside. The main restaurant does ask that you are covered up out of respect.
The private beach felt so safe, it was huge! There were bars and towels available around the seafront to get water, ice-creams and drinks from. The water is also so blue. There was even a camel on site too. You can pay extra for the private beds where you can get massages too.
Lots of trips to do, we did a boat trip to swim with dolphins and go scuba diving, did the day trip to luxor and went to the dessert quad biking with an evening show and food. All of the trips were amazing and the team were really helpful when booking it. The hotel will even pack you up some lunch to take with you on the trips if you ask them at the reception desk the night before, if you also are going to be back late, they will even make you some dinner (sandwiches and crackers) which you will find in your room when you return.
Always remember to bartar! This will be the biggest mistake if you don't bartar to get the costs down. It's expected of you and you can really get conned into paying so much more for something if you don't. For example, on our boat trip we ended up buying our "photoshoot" which they said was £20 when we got it down however when they delivered it to the hotel the next day it was £50, I watched the DVD of all the photographs to find myself and my partner were not on a single image and instead we had lots of photographs of the other couples and families. We quickly complained about this as it was really dangerous so I wouldn't recommend to anyone getting this!!
The only other negative I have is that the entertainment lacked for adults and was more aimed at the children.
If you're looking for a lovely relaxing getaway i'd definitely recommend this hotel as it really is beautiful and our evening views were amazing of the sea from our room!!

After an absence of 2 years I went back to Palm Royale. I have missed it.
As usual the service was above and beyond. Having been many times before I have made friends with some of the staff and it was so good to see them again. New staff have been well trained in the way of the hotel - ‘Do everything possible to make this the guest’s best vacation ever.’ New friends.
The hotel has had a refresh since I was last here and it looks well. The food is excellent and every effort is made to prepare your food as you like it (I like it spicey!).
What I like about Palm Royale is they do their best to give you that little bit extra. Nothing is too much trouble and it feels like a personal service.
Set in a beautiful bay, the breeze is welcome! A long stretch of sand means you can get away from others if you want.
Having been to Egypt over 25 times this is my favourite place to go to relax. Although there are plenty of activities, especially water related, it is knowing there aren’t 12 other hotels on your doorstep. It’sa bit more secluded and therefore exclusive.
Looking forward to going again a bit later in the year.
I definitely will not be leaving it another 2 years!

This is our third time choosing sentido palm royal for a family short vacation and definitely our last. We booked a double beach front room number 2207 and upon arrival we noticed the lobby’s high temperature and that everybody was sweating, our room was hot and when we asked they first told us it’s because the AC was just turned on and we should give it a while and the room temperature will adjust, we trusted there words and headed to the beach but when we were back the room temperature was still unbearable! My husband went to the front desk to complain and we discovered that the AC is not working well in the whole hotel for several days and all the visitors had already complained!! Yet the hotel management didn’t fix it or take any measures to handle the situation like bringing portable Acs or fans. We were promised daily that the issue will be solved in hours and it wasn’t . Our son woke up at night crying and sweating because of the room temperature!! The open buffet restaurant weather was hot and we couldn’t eat comfortably plus there was no food varieties. We tried the Italian restaurant and it was smelly and the weather was unbearable that we couldn’t finish the main course and left plus the food was tasteless. The shows at night were repetitive and boring. The artificial lakes are smelly. Over all we are very disappointed and though we looked forward to visit sentido palm royal for the third time we regretted our visit and definitely won’t visit again.

I stayed in mid september, it was hot but not unbarable as the wind is constant, sea was marvelous, beach is excelent as you do not have to use pontons, but get in the water normally, the problem with beach is that central part of the beach is used for animation program from 15-17h, so expect unearthly loud music and animation team to bother you (even if thats their job it is not pleasent). Left side of the beach after the beach bar will have more free sunbeds but also stairs to access the water. Central and right side will be noisy and everybody leaves their towels on sunbeds and go away for hours, even tho it is forbidden to leave towels on sunbeds for more than 2 hr!? As for the hotel, service is excellent, my room was 1246, 2.floor, that is quite centrally located above the pool and with pool and see view, roomservice guy was great, his name is Rahmadan, and he was so nice and forthcomming, Thank you Rahmadan for you smiles and kindness and help, and also thank you to minibar filling man whose name I don't know. Great big thank you goes to Ms. VALIDA who was ther for all questions and help we needed. Food service was great too, thankyou to restaurant personel, especially to woman who bakes bread in Libian restaurant which is a must if you are in Sentido. Food in central restaurant is average, but you will always find something and there is Italian section, look for it. As for rooms, they are with a bit worn out beds, mattrases can be very hard or softer, if you do not like sleeping on a wood board, ask for softer mattras and they will give you one if they have it. The beds are awfully squicky, it is difficult to sleep well on them as they make terrible noise whenever you turn. If you don't expect 5* Europ standard but 3* lux comfort, you will not be disappointed. The beach, the hospitality, the spectacular view from your balcony to palms and terquise Red sea will compensate for food and beds even if you, like me, have bad back and are a light, demanding sleeper. My room could not catch wifi signal well, and you will not have it in each room, keep that in mind. But in Stella restaursnt, and the lobby and even sitting areas on room floors, signal is quite excellent, if you are lucky you can get it sometimes on central part of the beach. All in all, great vacation, even tho bit overpriced (for the price you would expect more out of beds at least)

It was my first visit to Egypt. To be honest I’m not delighted. Hotel has brilliant private beach,sandy enter without any corals or discomforting stones,pool temperature is perfect for every time of the day. BUT I’m really shocked of some things. Zero quality of breakfast,food just didn’t go to me,it was disgusting every day to me,below zero animation entertainment program. I have been many resorts all over the world,but I have seen this for the first time. You can reserve your place on the beach by your personal items and towel,but If someone wants your place and they give money ti lifeguards ,lifeguards will throughout your iteams. Another funny fact. A la carte reservation starts 10am,and you only can reserve one day before. I got there to reserve twice ar currently 10am for Italian,but the reservation officer didn’t give me that,he told that there is no empty place,but I got to the office both days at thw begging of the workday. Also it was the worst reception I’ve ever seen,they never know anything. I have noticed that they Xeroxed all another country visa pages of my passport,I asked the reason,but no answer Huge thanks to barmens,cleaners and waiters. They did always good job

Sentido palm Royale is a very nice hotel situated perfectly in a somewhat reef. In june there was a constant nice breeze that makes the already hot weather enjoyable and survivable.
Hotel itself is beautiful, from the reception to the rooms themselves, everything is spacious and nicely done. It might need a little refurbishment, but in general you wont find anything lacking.
One little thing that bothered me is that within the all inclusive package you don't get the beer within the mini bar. You can get beers over the whole resort, but if you want it in the room you need to pay additionaly. This doesn't make much sense if any whatsoever.
Other side that can do with improving is the internet (wifi). The access is limited to the number of people in the room, and you can easily use it only in the foaye of the hotel. Besides that it is a struggle and you need to pay for a mobile router that you can cary everywhere, so it makes your life easier. This is a downside for me for a 5 star hotel.
One of the best things in the hotel are the people that work there. 😊
You will not find a single person that will not greet you with the biggest smile. Usually the english is good and you can find your way through every situation.
Special shout-out to the people from the health (spa center). We have had a package of massages and enjoyed each and every one of them. The gentleman that lead the spa and the ladies in charge of the massages are professionals at what they do - my honest recommendation.
For the full day of energy, good vibes and smiles you can rely on the animation team. The guys will not let you be bored for a single minute if that is what you are looking for. Join a day full of aqua aerobics, voleyball, stretching, karaoke, dancing etc. Our special thanks go to Darina who is one of the frendliest people on site and will express that in several languages if needed!

We have just had our third stay at this amazing resort and highly recommend it, especially if you enjoy windsurfing/kitesurfing as it is in a brilliant location for these sports. We were all inclusive and stayed in a superior sea view room. Our room (3214) overlooked the water sports area so it was lovely to be able to sit out on the balcony watching the activities whilst drinking coffee (a kettle, coffee and coffeemate were provided in the room). The housekeeper who tidied our room was efficient and very friendly and made us a couple of towel sculptures which were wonderful. My husband is the windsurfer and whilst he was out on the water I spent quite a bit of time around the Health Club pool which is a quiet area and was very relaxing. We ate in the Stella restaurant every time although there was the option to have 4 a la carte meals in themed restaurants if we had wanted. I am vegetarian and found plenty of things to eat from the buffet and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I asked one of the men who prepared the food if one dish contained meat and he kindly escorted me around telling me which meals were vegetarian and even asked one of the chefs to adapt a meal he was preparing so I could eat it - amazing service. I want to make a special mention to our wonderful waiter in the Stella restaurant, MUSAB ABN OMAIR, a lovely man who looked after us so very well. The staff work very hard over long shifts but are always really friendly and are an absolute credit to the Palm Royale. Hopefully we will return in the future.
