We have been very excited when we purchased our holiday. The photos of the accommodation looked stunning and indeed, I cannot say we have been disappointed, Our suite had a lovely view on the sea in the distance and was very comfortable, spacious, modern, clean and air conditioned, It was cleaned daily with fresh towels and bathrobes etc. However, there was one major drawback- the water running from out taps was often yellow! usually it would turn clear after couple of minutes of running it, but still, it didn't look inviting when you wanted to brush your teeth especially when we all know what travellers suffer from often in Egypt! (upset stomach). I did't trust the water so I used the kettle to boil the water to use when brushing my teeth. The guys who cleaned our apartment however did a very good job every time.
The pools were lovely and there were sunbeds with parasols and clean towels on each bed every day. They water seemed pretty clean.
The major disadvantage however of the whole stay was the food! I was actually relieved we didn't book for two weeks! I am sad do say that some of the positions on our all inclusive menu were pretty basic. For instance, for lunch, there were two pasta dishes, both of which didn't have any meat or even sea food, literally just pasta and tomato or pesto sauce (something from a student kitchen). I am a vegetarian so it didn't bother me this much but for my partner, these two dishes were out, and when the menu is limited, it is a problem. Dinner menu was better, at least for meat eaters, for me..well..there was no vegetarian main. To be honest, the staff let me order from a lunch menu during dinner, but the point I am making is..I had to point it out every time, ask if i can order from a different menu, and it was just tiring, and I felt like I am being difficult so I didn't feel comfortable during meals. The most disappointing however was breakfast. When we arrived, there was hardly anyone staying there. This is the reason I suppose, that there was no buffet for the first 4/5 days of our stay. The menu to choose from was poor (for instance no cereals or yoghurt, no mention of fruit to choose from etc.) When I asked for the croissant, it was dry (I suspect they had it out since 8am and it wasn't covered). For the last two days, they had the buffet on. The experience was a bit better (there were cereals, yoghurt, cheeses, pastries, etc.) bu it was all served in an unconditioned room (very warm) and nothing was covered (cheese dried out by the time we went down for breakfast, so did the bread and cucumbers) feta was warm, etc. To conclude- I had better in a 3 star hotels.
Another bad experience (towards the end of our stay after few days of food that didn't impressed, we went down for a mid day snack. I ordered a peanut butter sandwich with jam (the only veggie option). what was served to me was a toast with butter and selection of jams (no sign of a peanut butter). When I asked about it- they didn't know what a peanut butter is. I understand that there might have been a misunderstanding, mistranslation if the chef was Egyptian, but there have been members of the management or owners staying there and nobody picked up on major faults? What has saved the day was the fact that the local veg was very tasteful and so salads were naturally tasty and that the staff from the bar and restaurant did their best. However, it really compromised my experience, trying to order something which will be OK for a vegetarian, or getting served something different to what the menu said, Just tiring I suppose. I want to get this message across-i don't mind local food or simple food as long as it is what it says and it is quality. I am sad to say that for the price we have paid, this wasn't value for money. I would not come back, maybe if I paid about 1/3 of the price less I might be tempted but not longer than one week at a time.
On our last two days of stay we went down to the beach (free shuttle bus service which is nice, the problem is getting back as you have to ask guys on the bar to ring the hotel). The first day everything was Ok, we were given tokens at our hotels and gave them to the bar staff at the beach. We ordered drinks and after a whole day at the beach went back .the day after we returned and we have been told that we have not paid our bill the day before for the drinks. We said we are all inclusive and that we have been told that we don't pay, The bar staff including manager didn't know anything about it. We asked the manager to contact our hotel and find out and we went to the beach We didn't order any drinks not knowing whether we will get the bill at the end of it (we have already paid a lot for all inclusive!). The manager said he will find out and although jokingly, he said 'if you don't pay and the hotel dont pay, maybe we ring the police' (Sigh! not something you want to hear on your holiday). At the end of the day we went to the bar and they just told us to sign for the receipts. It turned out we were not supposed to pay. Nevertheless,we were angry as we didn't have any drinks that day and so didn't make the most of our all inclusive plus, my gosh, we were thirsty, it is Egypt!). I blamed the lack of communication between the bar which served people from different hotels I think, and our hotel for the error! still though! ..but then It turned out the Italian guy who stayed in our suites, was the boss at the bar on the beach..so how could they not know this?!
Anyhow, there was lots of different thing that spoiled my experience, especially when we paid what we paid!
One more thing to mention..the Italian girl on the reception, I think her name was Esther, and the young Egyptian lad, were really nice. Especially the girl was really helpful, a real professional in contrast with other staff.
I hope this review will help to improve the experience for other guests.

This is my fifth time at azzurra , such a great place and quite unique in its modern design yet with an authentic touch . This place is getting better by the day. Staff are very helpful , prompt and service centric.

Place is just gorgeous , can't describe it enough , the only petty is its not crowded which to me is a plus point but I do miss some buzz in the place . Again in terms of property this is far beyond any other hotel or service apartment in Egypt let alone hurghada . If you are looking at a peaceful , relaxing holiday whether as a couple of a family this is the place to be at. If you can rent a car in hurghada then you are all set for a great holiday otherwise azzurra provides shuttle bus to the largest closely mall senzo and to the best beach in hurghada. Write to me if you need more information as I know the place quite well by now.

We booked this hotel online. I called them before hand to make sure the beach was right by the hotel as I had my parent. The one who answered assured me the beach was "two minutes away". He forgot to tell me the hotel did not have a beach and that you had to "drive" every time you wanted to hit the beach. My parents were upset but decided to try it. We checked the room and they smelled horrible. We had to leave.
Then to top it off they emailed me a no-show!! To get $170! Not only did they lie about their awful location, but they are trying to rip me off, which WILL NOT Happen.

I do not recommend this hotel at all, if anything for their dishonesty.

unhelpful receptionist, first i called the reception asking for shuttle service to the old town ,the reception manager mahmoud came to us with a golf car and was speaking on the phone and we were talking to him, he wasnt answering us which is very rude, then he told us after 11 pm there is no shuttle service, and to call him as he will send any of the hotel's golf cars and pick us up from the old town as they offer 24 hours transporation services with their golf cars because it's a high season and eid vacation; however, after i finished in old town at 1 am i called him and ordered the golf car, he spoke in a very rude and unhospitable way and said no i cant as the car has flat tyre so i told him how come you said that you work 24 hours and call you anytime after 11 pm and that you will pick us up by any of the golf cars and that if you said there was no transporation service after 11 pm i wouldnt have left home or went out from the first place, his reply was "non of my business and its your deal, and was saying non stop its not my problem. oh my god how come is this hotel and reception manger say this to his guests and deal in that way and not stick to his words, and surprisingly is that when thankfully the security man helped us out and drove us back to our residential apartment, i found out that there were two golf cars and the tyre wasnt flat or anything and he was chilling with his friends outside the reception and he didnt want to come. how does
that represent any hospitality with guests!!
when i wrote a negative review on facebook he threatned to call the police and made a fight with the apartment owner and threatned them so i had to remove the comment so he doesnt hurt the owners as he is acting along with ahmed the other reception manager like a gang and that he owns the hotel. i dont recommend this place to anyone where is the Gm and where is the audit on their work!

I'm actually quite disappointed with this hotel as I'm quite looking forward it. The 2 star is purely for the view and hotel room.

The view is really stunning and the hotel room is nice as well. The first impression is really good but then everything went down in just couple of hours.

If you have a car with you or you are very familiar with Hurghada, maybe you will be doing fine here. This place is suitable for people who has transport and ready to cook in the room as they provide you a small kitchen. Its really quiet and you will enjoy your peaceful moment on the balcony.

But for us, its a NIGHTMARE!!!!
First, they told us the receptionist only working from 9am to 11pm. It's a bit weird since normally hotel receptionist will be working 24 hours but I still agree to deal with it. When I try contact them at 9:30am, no one pick up the call. I have been calling from 9:30am to 10am to ask for transport to go back hotel from their beach, at least 10-15 calls been made but no response at all. They have a shuttle van to go to their private beach every one hours but we still need to call to the receptionists to request and yet they didn't pick up the call.

Second, on the early morning around 6am during our stay, the electric and water had been cut off and we can't call to ask why since they only open at 9am. In the end we decided to walk to the reception to ask and yes, there is no one and the reception was closed. Luckily one of the workers saw us on the road wondering and told us their engineer is fixing the electricity and surprised to hear our water supply is cut off as well. Anyways, we got electricity and water supply back 2 hours later. Then during our checkout at 12pm, surprisingly there is no one at receptionist as well! Another worker saw us and told us just leave the room key at reception. Then after we walked out from the reception, only the receptionist/manager saw us and asked us to go back to receptionist to proceed to checkout again. Been calling them around 11:30am for check out and yes, they don't answer as well.

Third, I know this hotel doesn't have any restaurant. So when I asked for supermarket and restaurant, they told us the beach there has a lot of restaurant and supermarket which is not true. Many shops is close down and not much restaurant can choose. The supermarket we found only sell cup noodles and snack. When I ask for more choice, they can't answer me. They do mention there is a senzo mall where we can find restaurant but they only provide shuttle service and its only available on 10am and 8pm. If I asked for cab we need to wait for 90 minutes. Later we only found out there is a super big hypermarket in senzo mall that they should have told us.

Conclusion, if you have transport, don't worry about staying here.
If you are foreigners and unfamiliar with hurghada like us, make sure you had bought enough food with you or hire a driver to drive you around. Otherwise, don't stay here.

Extremely disappointed with most aspects of Azzura which was booked through Fleetway Travel via Secret Escapes. We would never go back as it was not value for money and certainly not 5 star, 'swish' or an 'ultra' all-inclusive as described in the holiday splurb, more underwhelming and poor. Sal Hasheesh is a quiet town, but there are hotels which are far superior to Azzura offering good food, entertainment and their own serviced private beach areas. That said, the suite we booked which turned out to be an apartment was very comfortable, but we were disappointed as we had not expected to be staying in an apartment complex. The complex was absolutely dead when we went early in October, but it did have an abundance of staff, and there were only six 'holiday' guests down to four halfway through our holiday. There is no lounge area just a small reception area with a couple of chairs, the bar area is also the restaurant which resembles a cafe bar, only one pool which you can swim in and the transport to and from the beach is unreliable. Azzura does not have a private beach but the use of another provider and the beach guys there were great, but fed up with Azzura staff as they don't answer the mobile phones and there is no landline, leaving customers stranded or enduring long waits for buggies back. We were given a restricted 'all-inclusive' menu which comprised of five salad choices as starters, five mains which did not come as described in the menu (eg. no vegetables) and the choice of only two desserts - chocolate cake or cheesecake. This menu did not change all week and in general our meals rated from inedible to decidedly average. The breakfasts were limited, boring and unappetising. I have always experience excellent food choices and cooking in Egypt, so this was a huge disappointment as it was difficult to eat elsewhere because of the location and you would need to get a taxi to get anywhere - Hurghada is quite a lengthy costly journey. A BBQ was served one lunchtime, however this was not for guests but for staff who had a conference or training a few days that week, so that was a bit of a 'slap in the face' and not very relaxing for guests as we all ate in the same area! We had no TV remote in our room and had to ask 3 times to get this sorted, we also had no hot water for two days but that was resolved when reported - at least we did not have to wait four days for a toilet roll and got our room cleaned unlike what fellow guests had to endure! Some staff were great like the head waiter, but others not so and you have to prepared for long waits but there was nothing else to do anyhow. My advice would be not to visit off peak as there are virtually no other guests, poor guest service and rubbish food in order to make this an enjoyable break, but if you like to be; on your own, are patient and very tolerant, do nothing and enjoy a quite time it could be for you. The grounds are attractive, but my feelings are that this is geared up for apartment owners/rental not package holidays on the basis we booked.

First, the room was big and nice.
Comfortable bed.

But other than that nothing is good.
No breakfast, always hard to contact reception.
Suggestions from reception was not useful as well.
No restaurant at that area.
Water and electric supplies were cut for 2 hours .. Unbelievable.

Cannot recommend it unless you have own transport.

I had a plan to spend 4 nights at this property, but I checked out after the first. The rooms are the only good thing in the hotel put the rooms aside you will find your self dealing with an 18th century hotel. The tab water was yellowish, the food after being first unavailable was awful when finally served, the main swimming pool was closed for maintenance in the high season and the staff were pretty inefficient. Wouldn't recommend it guys !!
